The legend begins...

I've watched this season with something distinctly more than detatchment. I live and die with each game. This has been a reoccuring theme in my "football life". My high school team has a reputation of being lights out during the regular season, but they always seemed to tank when deer season starts(they did it again this year). I've watch the Cowboys since Super Bowl VI( I was like three), and have seen all sorts of seasons good and bad. My ideal of the ultimate quarterback has always been...and always will be Roger Staubach. He wasn't perfect, but he always gave you the feeling that no game was out of reach no matter how far behind we got. Those 70's teams were talent wise not on level with the current team, even the best team Roger lead, but they had character. That brings me to the point of this post.

It has been my exeprience that those things in life most worthwhile were the things that were accomplished in the face of long odds. This season is revealing that this years Cowboys have heart, and are willing to do what it takes to win the Super Bowl. A lesser team would have folded under the huge expectations and mass injuries(I'm personally waiting for stigmata). Others still would have imploded with the never ending media indictments. Lesser coaches would have packed it in when everyone(except me of course) were calling for his head after emabarrasing losses(like the Rams game). It could have been real easy for this team to sull up like a possum and give in to the crass carping criticism of our detractors. But they haven't given an inch. Sure we have lost games we should have won(Cardinals, Redskins), but we have wons games we should have lost too(Eagles, Buccaneers). The price of glory is high, and this years Cowboys have that greatness within to overcome.

This is where we can all say, I kept the faith, I simply believed. No limitations on how we succeed. If we win every game by one point and get a Super Bowl win, YAY! I don't care how it looks to anyone else, I know that this is not just possible, but WILL happen. History is replete with stories of how great champions overcame the pitfalls and became champions. This year have shown me that the Cowboys are a legendary team with the ability to overcome everything that can be thrown at them. I see this as clear as the rising sun. Sunday night I saw OUR team stand up, and get a win when they needed it. They played as a team, and I said to myself..."This is where the Legend begins", with Tellus Bennetts TD catch I saw it, we are back.

Everyone is upset because we aren't blowing people out like last year. Well allow me to be the one to inform you all, last year is over. This year isn't last year, and I'm glad. We became complacent, and coasted to the end of the season. Then against the Giants when Wade tried to "hit the gas", and the team "vapor locked". Everything is coming together at just the right time. Our youngsters have all contributed, and now we have Tashard Choice assuming a bigger role(I've been waiting for Tashard to get more playing time). Mark my words, we WILL roll into the play-offs peaking. It won't be one signle player that brings us to the promise land, it will be the team as a whole. Players, coaches, front office, and yes even us the fans. We all have a role to play. As fans our part is to keep a strong vision of victory, and to not waver from this vision. The only thing that can defeat us is...well...US!

Thank you for allowing me to go off on a tangent, I've been saving this post for a while now, and I figured this was the most appropriate time to make it.

This is a great reply...

Call me lazy, but I failed to read this post before adding my own. The bottom line is that I’m on-board this train! Let’s hope we reach the promised destination, and don’t end up in a tangle of metal and smoke.

Giants did it last year

i was amazed at how they came together at the end of the season and rolled to the SB! Why can’t we do the same?

I believe it could happen…

If the team could just stay healthy. They Just can’t suffer anymore-serious injuries to key players. It’s been out of control this year.

Heck yeah

I’m not predicting anything, but I hate the comments made by “fans” telling me the season is over and the Cowboys are done. I wish we could revoke their Cowboys Bandwagon cards.

I'll be here waiting in Tampa.

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."
