Somebody lose! Please!!
Atlanta, Tampa, & Washington all won yesterday keeping the ‘boys on the outside looking in. I still think the NFC south will go to Tampa and that Carolina is just starting a huge late season fade that will end up at 9-7; but it could work out that both Carolina and Tampa finish 12-4 w/ Atlanta at 11-5, (doubtful though).
At the very least I’m convinced that Dallas has to finish at worst 11-5. 10-6 will not get it done this year. Washington isn’t going to lose that many down the stretch, (in fact I think they may even upset the G-men next weekend) and will probably finish 11-5 with their only loss coming at Baltimore.
I used to think that Atlanta would fade but they just won’t. Where are the losses going to come from for Atlanta? The Chargers are on the verge of giving up, the Saints in New Orleans… Maybe. The game at home against Tampa may be for the division and they’re near perfect at home. I can’t believe how good some of the records are in the NFC this year. Dare I say that Dallas has to win out and finish 12-4 to get in?

You reap what you sow
This team had no business losing to the Rams or the Cardinals. Even flipping one of those losses would give them breathing room right now.
The NFC is really tight this year, but at least one of the playoff hopefuls is going to go into a tailspin come December — just based on history. Question is: will it be the Cowboys?

no way
There has never been a team with a 11-5 record that has failed to make the playoffs, there are going to be teams with good records now that will fade down the stretch.
With 5 games remaining, there is still a lot that can happen between now and the end of the regular season.

and it will
Washington struggled with Seattle, Portis is still dinged, if he misses any time that team will struggle..
ATL is good, but there Division is tough..
ATL and Tampa both will lose a game they aren’t supposed too..

Tampa plays Atlanta in the coming weeks
that should help us.
Hopefully Atlanta takes the division and we at least tie Tampa and beat Carolina outright.
And the Rams loss was unacceptable; you can’t lose easy conference games like that.

Look on the bright side
The cowboys have no room for error so if they can win 4 of the next 5 games, they will enter the playoffs on a roll and not get complacent like last year.

This is why I
love the NFL, even now you cannot predict how these teams will finish and if history is true about an 11-5 team not missing the playoffs, well that means that there are still losses to be had by all of these teams and dallas needs to just keep taking it one game at a time an try to win each one so that way later in the year they are in control of their future this year.

Carolina is going to be the team that fades.
They’re schedule is really tough and I just don’t believe in Delhomme.

Redskins Injuries
For their upcoming Week 13 home game against the Giants, Washington has the following key injuries: LB-Marcus Washington – OUT (high ankle sprain), RB-Clinton Portis – new injury suffered yesterday @ Seattle (strained muscle in rib cage), LB-London Fletcher – left foot in a protective boot (no additional info at the moment), and DE-Andre Carter – expected to have an MRI on his foot today.
Just thought you guys would wanna know that.

MRI on Carter reveals...
…a partial tear in his plantar fascia, and he claims to be hopeful that he can play against the Giants this Sunday.

I'm starting to think you're onto something.
If there ends up being a glut of 11-5’s, Dallas is on the wrong side of too many tiebreakers. The only tough games Washington has left are against the Giants and Ravens. As good as the Giants are, they’re simply due to lose at least two more games and one of those losses could very come against the ’Skins.
I’m still not sold on Tampa Bay as a lock to necessarily finish 12-4. I could see them losing to any of the Panthers, Falcons, or Chargers. However, if Tampa Bay won that division (rendering Dallas’s tiebreaker over them moot) at 11-5 over an 11-5 Falcons team Dallas might still get edged out by the Falcons on tiebreakers.

Why are the Giants due to lose?
They win without Plax, they win without Jacobs, they just win. I don’t think it’s outrageous to suggest they’ll only have 1 loss.

Dallas will finish 12-4....
just like I figured they would……relax people…

but the issue is they don't need to finish 12-4
to make the playoffs, 11 wins and a loss to either Pitt or Balt gets them in as well.

They still have to play better
than anything I’ve seen them do this season to pull that off. Before F. Jones and Austin went down I might have believed it possible. But not now, sadly

If they play like they have the last 2 games
they can definitely win all 5 remaining games. Just like Ellis said the other day, he likes what he’s smellin’ from this team.
They’re getting their mojo back to make an impressive run.

Ellis is not known for his optimism
so that can be viewed an a non-biased opinion, for better or worse he will speak his mind.
