Yeah, Greg Ellis!
Haven't seen the article on here, so I figured I'd post the link. Nothing earth-shattering, but I like the new attitude. Ellis may not prove it on the field, but he's certainly an elder statesman in the locker room. We certainly can't (or shouldn't) knock his leadership. For everyone who keeps comparing us to last year's Giants, this is definitely a time where we'll step up and get some wins (even the ones people don't expect us to). Hell, we have to if we want to get to the playoffs. The way it's looking, I think we not only get in, but finally win that elusive first round game. KNOCK ON WOOD! Then we'll have Arizona or the VaGiants, but I'd LOVE a rematch with Arizona before we head to NY. I may be counting my chickens, but what can I say...

I feel ya....
But I think the one thing we need most is just solid production from left guard, and patience. The season is actually coming to us nicely. The team will have to keep focused, and therefore no let down. We lost in the play-offs last year because we ceased to respect the six inches in front of our faces, and took things for granted. The Giants fans are as obnoxious as we were last year at this time. I’m enjoying it, because we actually have there number(believe it).The team is coming together and everybody is participating, this is gonna be legendary when we finish, but right now, we must remain focused.
We will not face the gints in the 1st round
they will be either the 1st or 2nd seed and will have a one week bye. Dallas will have to win in the 1st round to have a chance at the gints. I agree with your post in regards to ellis, he is not known for shying away from speaking his mind and is not known for being a cheerleader so when he is positive about their chances I take that as a good sign.

That's what I meant...
Wild Card Round – I think we beat the winner from the North or South
Divisional Round – I think/hope we play Arizona
NFC Championship – It’s hard to believe the Giants WONT be here…
The jumbled mess that is the North and South, of course, being Chicago, Minnesota, Green Bay, Tampa, Carolina, Atlanta, or New Orleans…haha I think it would’ve been easier to write anyone but the Lions!

we won't play Gmen in NFC Championship
If we win the WC rd, we’ll play the GMen in the divisional rd

Sixth seed?
So you’re expecting us to be the 6th seed? The Giants, assuming they are the #1 seed, will play the lowest seed in the divisional round. If we are the 6th seed that would be us. If we are the 5th seed then we could play the Cardinals if the 6th seed were to win the other wild card game. To make such a statement is either presumptious or ignorant about how the playoff seedings work.
The Giants are the most likely opponent, but its far from a done deal. Speaking of far from done deals, the Cardinals as the #2 seed aren’t necessarily likely either. Right now it would be Tampa Bay at 8-3 as the winner of the South.

No but I doubt both the sixth and fifth seed will win,
so based on that if dallas wins it will probably be the only WC team and will automatically face the 1st seed (again assuming the gints are the 1st seed).

Not me.
Think about it. I’m hoping to see the north winner as the 3rd seed at 10-6 and Arizona as the 4th seed, also at 10-6 (with a definite loss coming at New England and dropping another one somewhere else along the way). Then assume the Giants in the 1 spot w/ Tampa in the 2. In this scenario Dallas is in the 5th spot at 11-5 while either Washington or Atlanta (doesn’t matter which) is the 6th seed.
What I like about his scenario is that it keeps Dallas from having to play a cold weather game until the NFC Championship. Either Washington or Atlanta will easily handle the North Champ but they’d lose in the 2nd to the G-Men. The boys in the mean time avenge an earlier loss to Arizona in the 1st round; beat the Bucs again in the 2nd round, setting up a huge rematch in the NFC title game w/ the Giants.
Ha!!!
“I like,” the defensive end said, “what I’m smelling from this team.”
And he said this while in the locker-room. According to Romo, the locker-room STINKS. So I don’t know what Ellis is smelling.

steelers
i compare us more to the 05 steelers
they lost big ben..then lost like 3 straight games
went on a run and won 4 straight to end 9-7 and become the only 6th seed to ever win a superbowl
9-7 obviously won’t get us in the playoffs but 11-5 is automatic entry..we have the potential to go 12-4 but with all these nagging injuries..especially to kosier, we may lose 1
not true, they finished 11-5 in 2005
so we could end up more like them than you think
