DeAngelo Hall
I just perused Adam Schefter's blog on NFL.com, and he reports that the Oakland Raiders are on the verge of releasing DeAngelo Hall.
Immediately, many of you are gonna say "no, he's a head case... I'll take our chances with the rookies Orlando Scandrick and Mike Jenkins, and besides Terence Newman will be back after the bye week."
And to be honest, although I can't stand his guts on a personal level (he's even from the area I live in, which makes it worse for me), i think he could help us.
Stuff still has to happen though... like Hall clearing waivers before becoming a free agent -- which could possibly happen because a lot of teams aren't gonna wanna be on da hook for the remainder of the stupid contract Al Davis signed him to.
Here's the link... let me know what you think!!!

So why did the Raiders let him go?
Was he playing so badly they couldn’t have him on the field anymore or is there something going on behind the scenes? They did give him a fat signing bonus.

He's been AWFUL...
The Raiders matched up Nnamdi on Roddy White all day Sunday, and the net result was DeAngelo Hall getting roasted by Michael Jenkins for 30 and 40 yard TDs…
He’s been flat out terrible…
They paid him something like 8 million worth of signing bonus, I think…

If the sucky Raiders don't want him
why should we?? The dude is severely overrated, always has, always will be.

plain and simple
No thanks. He is a head case, who is under performing, and will command some coin..

He's fast as hell...
One of the things that made Deion a great corner. If he made a mistake, he was quick enough to make up for it. Now there is a HUGE difference between being quick and being fast. If being a corner was a foot race, sign DeAngelo in a heart beat. It’s not though, and he certainly is a head case that will demand some ridiculous sum of money that only Al Davis would pay…No thanks

I was a big fan of his...
but watching him play this year, something just isn’t right. He’s not worth the disruption, especially with Scandrick playing so well.

DeAngelo Hall is the most overrated football player in the NFL...
He’s not any good. He really never has been…
There’s nothing he can bring this team that we don’t already have.

For the longest time the Falcons
Had the 2 most overrated players in football with Vick and Hall.
No wonder they got better this year with both of those overrated headcases gone…
NO THANKS. I’ll take my chances with Scandrick and Jenkins.

Yes
Hall has looked bad this year
But watch a team like the Giants or Patriots sign him AFTER he clears waivers.
He just needs to do two things:
1. Get his head out of his a** with some genuine humility
2. Get back in shape
DeAngelo ate the cheese, so his head needs to be deflated.

He should go to a rebuilding team
like the Chiefs—stay in the AFC West—far, far away from Texas.
George Teague did it all.

It would be...
…interesting to see him and TO on the same team after their….misunderstanding. I’d rather take a chance on some of the other guys they’re looking at releasing, namely Michael Huff.

Huff?
What… are they cleaning house? I haven’t heard the thing about Huff. They invested a high draft pick in him; doubt they’d flat out release him AND Hall.
Does Oakland know the offseason isn’t till like January? They’re on baseball season time or something.
George Teague did it all.

Dude
no. When will we learn?
Where will you be when the Sixers hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy? Hopefully Liberty Ballers.

If we sign him,
we’ll have the most overrated, overpaid secondary in football. Oh that’s right, we already do.

I go to many Raider games because I live in the area and my family always has tickets....
He has been AWFUL. I don’t care what situation you were to put him in… he is not worth it. He got murdered by Eddie Royal in his NFL debut and every game he gets burned for another touchdown… and everytime he comes to the sideline all he does is complain and try to blame it on one of the safeties for no help
The only players I’d want from that team are Asomugha @ db, Kirk Morrison @ LB, and possibly gibril wilson at safety…

Kirk Morrison is the type of ILB the Cowboys could use. Man, he’s awesome.

And Asomugha is the type of CB we need....That Newman signing is starting to look grossly premature..
As we have now gone two + seasons with limited availability.

He missed 2 games last year and went on to make the Pro-Bowl
Plus 7 games this season. Look how bad the secondary has been without him.
It wasn’t premature to re-sign T-New.
Now with Jenkins and Scandrick on board, the Cowboys are set at CB.

OMG
We have enough players. We have players coming out of our ass. We need a coach with some balls is what we need. Not a coach that walks around with Benny Hill music playing in the backround. What a joke. It’s not like most of us are second guessing ourselves. Wade Phillips was never a popular choice,….and here we are.
In football, more than any other sport, the head coach is as important as the franchise players.

I think I'd rather miss the playoffs altogether...
not that I think Hall could put us there.
If we’re going to pick somebody up, let it be somebody with talent + leadership + character, not a character that thinks he has talent.
Fear is just frozen adrenaline.

NO
have you seen how bad he has been with the Raiders. I’ll go with our rookies. (but if did pick someone up I’d want it to be Ty Law)

that would be great if
the Giants, Skins or Steelers signed him, T.O. could then be guaranteed to have another monster game against that punk.
