Your favorite Cowboys vs. Giants’ game…

My favorite, without question was the 16-13 overtime win over the Giants at the meadowlands in ’93.  It was the last game of the regular season and both teams were 11-4 heading into the contest.  By winning the Cowboys not only took the NFC east but home field advantage as well.

Emitt Smith rushed for 168 yards and caught ten passes for 61; all with a separated shoulder!

That win helped propel the Cowboys to their 2nd straight super bowl title.

Emmitt

with the smashed shoulder. By far my favorite game of all time I think. Well, okay maybe the second Super Bowl vs Buffalo, with that drive where it was Emmitt left, Emmitt right over and over again, but I digress. Best DAL/NYG is Emmitt with the banged up shoulder.

Tom Grieve is my hero.

1991

when the up and coming Cowboys beat the defending Super Bowl champions 21-16, on one of Troy Aikman’s few last-minute game-winning drives. It established that Dallas was a young team to be reckoned with.

Mine too

Emmitt proved to me that day why he’s the greatest back of all time.

Another one

Late 70s/early 80s, Giants Stadium, Tony Dorsett takes a handoff up the middle breaks through the line, and then makes the most graceful cut I have ever seen and fakes both safeties out of their cleats. When he made that move, you could hear 60,000 giants fans say “Wow!” at the beauty of it. A millisecond later, they were braying for blood again.

The 1993 Overtime Game

That was a pretty easy choice.

Second favorite was the 1992 game on the second week of the season. Dallas defense held the Giants to three and out on the first two possessions, then blocked both punts, and ran the second back for a touchdown. We scored at the end of the first half to take a 27-0 lead to the locker room, then got the second half kickoff and marched right down the field to lead 34-0. Then we went conservative and let the Giants back into the game. After they scored to make it a nervous 34-28 score, Aikman had to hit Irvin on third and long to convert the first down and seal the game.

2003 was nice.

Quincy Carter and the quick drive to get it to OT.

I think Richie Cunningham or Billy Cundiff nailed 7 FG’s in that game.

Channeling my inner Pacman.

yeah that 2003 MNF game was awesome

I thought maybe it was Quincy Carter’s breakout game, in which he proved to be a viable NFL starting QB. He was 40-25-321-0-1 and ran for a TD, and I will never forget his 26-yard pass to Antonio Bryant with 3 seconds left to put the team in position to tie the game in regulation.

What an awesome game that was.

That ranks right up there with the Buffalo game of last year for me.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the 2006 game at the Meadowlands

and Romo’s 42-yard bomb to Witten to set up Gramattica’s long field goal to win 23-20.

The 1995 Season Opener was nice too...

Cowboys won that one 35-0. Sometimes it’s nice to just beat the sh#t out of them too. :)

yeah, good start to the season against the Giants on the road

Emmitts first touch of the game goes for 50 plus TD run and then adds three more to end with 4td’s
