Captain's Top 10 reasons why we won't beat the Ravens
Consider this my Holiday Gift to you all. We can not and will not win. Don’t let yourself be let down yet again this year. You heard it hear first. We will lose. So score some points with your wife instead and go to that stupid holiday party (like me) or go do some last minute shopping and help the economy. No reason to go out to sports bar to watch you will only be disappointed. I will be on the blog Sunday morning to console whom ever might need it.
1. "The Dorthy Syndrome" I swear after the game I heard "You’re out of the woods, you’re of out of the dark, you’re out of the night" blasting from the speakers from Texas Stadium. This team is far too complacent just to have avenged their loss from last year.
2. Cory Procter, enough said.
3. INT’s Ravens lead the league in INT’s (22). Romo will need to be careful against a blitzing D.
4. Injuries. Too many dings and dents to overcome.
5. Special Teams. Our special teams are truly special.
6. Teams that get shafted the previous week always come back and throttle their next opponent. Look at what the Chargers did to the Jets this year.
7. As always penalties. We commit to many and they kill us.
8. The Ravens defense is at the top of the league in yards allowed in both rushing and passing. With a dinged up running game we will be forced to throw again, which isn’t good for a team that’s struggled to move the ball downfield.
9. Last game at Texas Stadium. Significance of game will be overshadowed by the "Farewell to Texas Stadium" theme. Players will not be as focused as they should.
10. This last reason is the best. The Cowboys have never beat the Ravens at home :)

Why I think you are wrong.
We lead the NFL in sacks. This rookie QB hasn’t done well under pressure this season
This is a prime time game. Cowboys have won pretty much all of their primetime games.
Injuries didn’t stop us from dominating the Giants.

Actually 15-1 counting "Prime Time Turkey" games
Actually, Romo is 15-1 in Prime Time Games, if you count Thanksgiving Day as “prime time” which I would since it has a “captive audience of NFL fans” just like any night game:
Won in 2006:
at Carolina
Tampa Bay
at Atlanta
Lost in 2006:
New Orleans
Won in 2007:
Giants
at Chicago
at Buffalo
at Philly
Jets
Green Bay
at Carolina
Won in 2008:
Philly
at Green Bay
at Washington
Seattle
Giants

Pass the crack pipe, because you are truly smoking it. #1 reason they will win, rookie QB against a veteran D on the road. Flacco will be flacid.

More like Captain Come On
Just because you’re P-whipped and have to go X-mas party with your wife instead of enjoying the last game ever played at Texas Stadium, doesn’t mean the rest of us won’t be out at bar or at home (if they have the NFLN) watching and rooting for America’s Team.
You should be ashamed of yourself.

Great Points
Can you email this Wade and Jason..
I think the game is pretty simple, if our D shows up again we win.. Our D’s are similiar now and our Offense is better..
Wouldn’t it be nice if our ST made a big play..

I AGREE
that our defenses are similar… we now have a legit, playmaking, hard hitting, sack machine of a defense… i really like our chances with a healthy newman and a rookie fifth rounder who just keeps showing up in big games… tashard choice, i can only hope you keep playing the way you are, which you should because you played like this in the preseason, and in college, and i really think you are big time and i can’t wait till all 3 of our backs are healthy next year, we have the best trio in the league??? yes….
oh, and i think captain comeback is just being sarcastic, as in trying to jinx the ravens or ignite the cowboys? or mayb that was somone else i saw on another thread or blog…
things i would like to see this game…
1. tashard choice, and lots of him
2. spencer starting, ellis playing subpackages, as well as spencer ellis ware rat hatcher on the field at the same time
3. screen passes (choice/bennet)
4. newman manned up on clayton, hes scarey good, but so is newman
5. montrae holland… PLEASE PLEASE be healthy
6. ware taking down flacco 3 times, leaving him a half sack behind, which he’ll get against philthy… what better scenario than to break the record against philly… (oh and i’ll be at that game, so that would be sweet haha)
by CowboysFan4Life on Dec 16, 2008 1:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I worry much more about Mason than Clayton.
by Mandmeisterx on Dec 16, 2008 5:19 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
both good
Clayton big play guy, Mason is the steady move the chains guy.. Newman on Mason, Jenkins on Clayton..

now...
we can put pac daddy on mason, because he’s always in the position to swat the ball away… keep newman on clayton, and both of them shoudl be held to minimal yards then… and if we play them man up, we should be able to def shut down the run by run blitzing henry/jenkins/scandrick etc… i wish our whole team was healthy, bc dammmm we’d be even nastier

We will win because.....
1) this team is not complacent…..we’ve been playing with fire and passion the last 2 weeks and everybody knows we haven’t won anything yet.
2) Cory proctor was Wades Offensive lineman of the game Against the giants. (OK maybe ya got me on this one)
3) INT’s…..Romo’s maturity will come into play here. He’s learning to take a sack or throw the ball away…..
4) Only new injuries are to Killer and Tra Battle….We’ll be OK there. Plus injuries are never an excuse.
5) Special teams looked good to me Sunday night.
6) Not so sure that the Ravens were shafted….But they have to prepare for a team thats playing as well as anybody in the league right now. If they are smart…they’ll forget about last week.
7) Agreed…however we overcame 100+ yards of penalties against a Better NYGiants team.
8) Our running game is dinged up?
someone should tell Tashard choice that…since he’s spent the last two weeks shredding up the Vaunted steeler and giants Defense to the tune of 300+ yards from scrimmage.
9) This team is one that is definitely won’t be affected by pomp and pageantry. They live a carnival like lifestyle on a day to day basis. This is just another day in the life.
10) Doesn’t count…..Like saying we’ve never beaten the Yankees at home….We never played them at home….
5)

You're misguided about pharmaceuticals
First of all, SSRI’s, like Zoloft, do not take effect immediately, they take from 4 to 6 weeks to have any effect.
Second, Zoloft comes in 25mg, 50mg and 100mg strengths, so whatever drug you have been taking that is 80mg in strength is obviously not Zoloft. I would contact poison control center immediately to find out.

how can you guarantee we will not win, and not even spell your opening line correctly? kind of makes it hard to take you seriously. a true fan never gives up and always has hope. in my opinion if we can score 14 points of offense, i believe we will win. i am offended a cowboys fan would even come close to guaranteeing a loss for his own team. shame on you.

If we lose its because our coaches and fans think more of the offense than defense.
If we lose it will be because of turnovers and poor play calling. Our D should dominate, just dont let them stay on the field more than 30 minutes and dont turn the ball over. Be patirent and their rookie QB will hand us the game.
