Pittsburg Weather for Sunday= Snow and VERY cold
It looks like the passing game might have some obstacles on Sunday. Barber and Witten will be very much needed. Parker isn't exactly the type of back you look for in the snow. So we might have an advantage.
Here is the forecast for Sunday right now. I will monitor and update the forecast as it gets closer.
Sunday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 28. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.

advantage Pitt, but we still win..
Messy field, better D, and they are used to the conditions..
What is the spread?

We need the positive forces!
what are you talking about?
He asked for the spread, not who I thought was going to win. Of course I think the Cowboys will win, I’m going with 21-17.

Here is a summary of the Suday total precip totals.
Pitt is expecting between 0.10 and 0.25 inches of precip. This would mean from 1 to 2.5 inches of snow.

So...why is John Hart still being paid?
I'm pretty sure it will be in the 30s
and the chance of snow is about 30% last I saw.
It probably won’t be a blizzard, maybe just flurries.
Keep in mind it was calling for snow and sleet for the Pitt/WV game last Friday and it ended up being 38 and party sunny, it wasn’t bad at all.
Its too hard to predict the weather in western PA this far out, you really have to wait until Saturday. The weather patterns around here change drastically all the time.
That being said, it will definitely be cold, regardless of whether it snows or not and the playing field will be horrible as 3 high school games will be played the day before.

I know you’re in the area terry so you likely are more knowledgeable on this than I, but what games are taking place at Heinz? It was my understanding that championships were wrapped up around here a few weeks ago.
The field should be fine
The high school games all finished by November 19th. The field held up fine with six games in seven days. The new sod was laid after that game and has already been played on by West Virginia & Pitt.
really that is money
hopefully no snow..

Bad Field Conditions?
maybe to you guys who are used to artificial turf but this is football conditions, even the field. Can’t wait to see that black & Gold in the SNOW!
how are those cowboys going to fare out there in freezing cold and snow versus the number one defense??

thanks i should copy and paste it to my comment on BTSC but i am too lazy now. just glad someone realizes that the field is not crap anymore, plus there is not going to be a monsoon during and before the game.

No doubt Pittsburgh has a historical advantage in the snow
But I question that since the o-line for them has been suspect. Max Starks has been awful. They miss Faneca. Parker isn’t Jerome Bettis.
I still think Dallas will win.

yeah, they dont really have anything in that backfield with mud tires on it.

no he isn’t which is good and bad. one slip up and he is gone for a big play. the o-line has been improving drastically only giving up 5 sacks the last 3 games. 1 in the last 2 games. But in the snow, defenders can’t move as easy so blocking will be easier for a very big and physical O-line that we have. Lookout F-Dub might have a huge game!

we are worried about him (at least I am). but he is still day to day isn’t he? either way i doubt he will be 100% for the game so that is good news for us. anything that is going to slow him down well help up tremendously.

I just want to know if it’s windy.

its always windy at Heinz Field
the wind whips around the stadium off of the rivers surrending the stadium.

because i love my team and i love talking about them. and i want to get a heads up on what the cowboy community is thinking about the game. Not many bright cowboy fans from where i am from. but i see there are some that exist on this website.

he's here
because he’s safe behind his big bad keyboard and computer screen
everyone’s a tough guy on the internet.
he gets his rocks off going to opposing teams’ sites and riling everyone up. if you ignore and choose not to respond, he’ll get tired and leave…
When the boys post 30+ on the Steeler’s D, he’ll be nowhere to be found. probably running off to the next opponents blog making lame excuses for his team getting beaten on their special (ed) field.
I commented. You're welcome.

um no that’s an easy everyday to say about anybody online. why are you saying this to me? because you are safe behind your big bad keyboard and computer screen so don’t go there, most people do not know anyone else and i am not here to smack talk but to inform cowboy fans about some parts of the steelers that they may not know.
your right everyone is tough on the internet including you. I will not get tired because like i said i love my team and love talking football.
I will be right here if you guys somehow get 30 points on offense on our defense. But you have to be here too if the cowboys get embarrassed at heinz field sunday like we just did to the patriots.

typo ‘everyday thing to say’ is what i meant to say.
but no i post on my own website just as much. But its easy to overlook an opponent if you are just speaking with people who don’t watch all of their games. This website gives me an inside view of what chances the cowboy fans believe they have in the upcoming game. This way if they do come out and kick our ass i am not suprised because i have not been keeping up with the cowboys all season.

Why you giving the Steeler fan a hard time ?..he's been civil....take it easy.

Pittsburgh needs to take a cue from New England
and switch to field turf. That game against Miami last year was ridiculous.
thats not a steeler field
we like our field the way it is. It is home field advantage. Plus they have recently replaced the horrible turf of last year with better sod. Don’t worry that field from the MNF game with the dolphins will more than likely never happen again.

Heinz Field & The Game
Heinz Field and Lambeau Field are hands down the two best football fields I have been to.
The atmosphere before games in Pitt is something to behold. The fans are knowledgeable, fanatical and tolerant of non-Pitt fans. I’ve gone there seven years in a row before this year. I’m not a big Pitt fan but several guys from here in WI are so I have joined up. Alas, new babies and new marriages have prevented us from going this season.
This game will be football in weather like it was made to be played. I sure hope the Cowboys can adapt. They should be able to since games in NY, Philly and Wash in December are pretty much the same weather. And don’t forget that Romo grew up in WI (colder than Pitt) and played college ball in northern Illinois. This sort of weather is second nature to him. In fact, I got a little chuckle out of the title to this post – snow and VERY cold. I guess very cold, like most things, is a matter of perspective.
The one thing that worries me is the wind. The biggest advantage Dallas has is the passing game. In good conditions Romo TO, RW and Witten should chew up the Pitt defense like every other defense. But if it is windy (and it can get really windy there) and sleeting (that dreaded wintry mix) then the passing advantage will be negated.
Go Cowboys. I’m SO looking forward to this game.

I disagree about being tolerant
Anytime I’ve been to a Steelers game, which has been about 5 or 6, the fans are anything but tolerant of opposing fans.
When I walk into Heinz Field Sunday in my Romo jersey, fans will treat me like I defecated on their mother’s grave.
In Romo we Trust
You have a Romo jersey, Terry? Never would've guessed...
And lemme tell you, at the Washington game, it wasn’t quite frozen-tundra-cold but it was windy, which made it nasty. Granted, I was at some altitude (my nose would’ve been bleeding if the blood wasn’t already frozen in my sinuses…). But had I not been in 5 layers and full of Captain Morgan, I would’ve been frostbitten…
by AikmanNailedMySis on Dec 3, 2008 10:52 AM CST up reply actions
wow, I'm really surprised to hear that
I’m not doubting you……..I just find it very surprising. I talk up Pittsburgh every chance I get. Each and every time I’ve gone to a game in Pitt we have treated the locals with respect and have had it returned in spades. That goes for the hotel, bar scene, the pre-game tailgaiting as well as in the field itself.
Now, I have never worn to the game the jersey of the team Pitt was playing that day, but I have seen plently of people who have and even that interaction was just good-natured ribbing. Good luck wearing your Romo jersey. I hope violence doesn’t break out. Somehow, underneath your layers, I just bet you will have an ‘emergency backup Romo jersey’ in case the first one gets ripped off!

I hope you're right Louie
and Steelers fans have gained some class, but I’ve never seen it. Don’t worry, violence won’t break out because for one, I don’t harass opposing fans, just cheer for my Boys and two, I ignore all verbal, non-physical assaults.
There is also the new NFL Fan Code of Conduct instituted by Goodell this Spring in which home fans can’t verbally assault fans of the visiting team.
In Romo we Trust
I hear you
But, giving the other teams a bad time is customary even in College.
"If you see me up in the mountains with a lion, I ain't lyin

It’s not who you play…
But who you play when you play them and right now both the Steelers & Cowboys are playing their best football. I really think this is the toughest game of the season for the Cowboys, (even tougher than the Giants will be on 12/14). Dallas could still lose this Sunday and finish 11-5 but I’m just not sure that will be enough to get them into the post-season, (the NFL just gift wrapped a couple more wins for the Falcons yesterday).
I really think the Steelers have a huge advantage being home for this game. Their style of play is better suited for inclement weather.
My biggest concern...
We all know (especially you OLD fellas) how cold effects injuries. Joints lock up and muscles get stiff. With the amount of injuries our Boys have, do you all think this will be a big factor in the game, if any?
by AikmanNailedMySis on Dec 3, 2008 7:20 AM CST reply actions
selfishly
i will admit that i thoroughly enjoy watching inclement weather games. they just seem to be more fun to watch…
…but only when we win.
when we come in on the short end of the proverbial stick, like everyone else, i complain about the inclement playing conditions.
I commented. You're welcome.

people think of the Cowboys as a team
that can’t play well in the cold weather, but our best player, our MVP, is from Wisconsin, cold weather is nothing to him.
