Time To Clean House
After watching the 15th installment of the 2008 Fiasco otherwise known as the Dallas Cowboys regular season, I think it's time to clean house.
Jason Garrett has been exposed. Dallas has let Sean Payton and later, Tony Sparano leave the organization when it is now clear that they were the offensive masterminds behind any upside in Tony Romo's performance.
Hudson Houck did this team no favors in his first year back as o-line coach. Hasta la vista.
The team's offensive game planning and execution is pathetic and in no real corporation woudl such ineptitude be met with anything less than a pink slip.
On defense, Wade has to go, along with his mini-me, Brian Stewart. I'm sorry, but Dallas leading the league in penalties and in pre-snap penalties is just never gonna cut it in Texas, where football execution is everything. The poor play in the clutch overshadows their sack numbers.
It's time to jettison Pac Man, or whatever his name is. Say goodbye to Tank. Bye bye to Brad Johnson...this team needs a viable backup (one good enough to create a quarterback controversy). I want to see a unified locker room and if T.O. can't buy in to the plan, he should buy in to playing in Detroit or Cincy.
I love this team. I want to scream when they play like they did this year, knowing they had the talent to dominate like no other.
But, let's be real, it is time to clean house.

I see where you're coming from, but
Dallas can still make the playoffs and win the Super Bowl. I’m not confident that they will, but there’s still a solid chance. If that’s the case than non of these things will matter and no one will be getting fired or cut.

Right
Because we sure looked dominant tonight…I’d say we’re peaking at the right time, wouldn’t you?

Yeah because the Giants definitely lost their last regular season game last year.
And remember when Indy “couldn’t stop the run” and everybody thought the Larry Johnson and the Cheifs would run all over ’em in the first round of the playoffs? They won the Super Bowl too. Things change every game.

I have no idea what team you're watching
…but the team I see is about to get blown out in Lincoln Financial next week.

You have to be.
That’s what being a fan’s all about.
Talented team.
Not mathematically eliminated yet.
That’s all you need to think about.

I think unless we beat the Eagles and the Falcons lose to the Vikes tomorrow and we pull some amazing feat and win the Super Bowl that Wade needs to go; I’d much rather have someone like Bill Cowher. I do think we need a valid back up QB and hope Kosier stays heatlhy. But I’m confident we can beat the Eagles and make the playoffs if the Falcons or Bucs lose.
Uninspiring
Even if we make the Playoffs, are we are all hoping all of a sudden Jason Garrett becomes an offensive Guru of some sort overnight? We would only be relying on our offense being efficient enough to win games, and most of all NOT make mistakes.
The Ravens were waiting for our deep pass. The Steelers were waiting for our TE pass. We fell into the trap. If Garrett was smart enough to go to Roy Williams more, than maybe TO would be in single coverage more, and the tight ends open more, but alas, such offensive insight is beyond him apparantly. I really don’t see us doing anything different in the playoffs against good defenses, so we definitely need Garrett to go, not Wade. Keep Wade as the defensive coordinator. Some offensive coordinator that has offensive insight is definitely needed. Trying plays like this are beyond him:
Rememeber the fake handoff from Flacco that he ran for a first dow early in the game?
Why can’t we do that?
How about a screen to Deon Anderson, Just to throw them off?
How about more of a jumbo package with Bennet and Witten out there?
How about featuring Roy Williams?
It’s beyond me that we can’t do things that throw defenses off balance, much less even try them.
"Amongst the enemy's Lair, there will always be a DallasPalace!"
Wade would not take a demotion...no one would.

Sure...he's shown he can do that many times in his career

"the ravens were waiting for our deep pass"?
Those twoo deep ints werent Garretts bad playcalling. TO was free deep twice, and Austin once. Romo just couldnt hit them

if u cannot win the big games in dec then u do not deserve to make the playoffs
backing in is not good enough….absolutely ridiculous…
I disagree
Anything can happen once you get in. The Giants backed in last year losing 2 of their last 3.
not that it matters
but I don’t think you can count losing that last game against the Patriots as “backing in.” They had clinched a spot with a win the week before against Buffalo, which was a must-win game, b/c there was no way they were beating the Pats, at least according to conventional wisdom.
No self respecting coach will ever come to Dallas!
As long as Jerry Jones has his hands in the pot!
Good point

SoTuna is not self respecting?
That is ridiculous. Any coach would jump at the post unless they wanted to be GM and HC.

I noticed you didn't bother to name any of these actual QB's who are supposed to be brought in and stir up a controversy?
McNabb?
Garcia?
Sage Rosenfels?
Matt Cassel?
I'm sorry, but the only one that would create any controversy is McNabb--for numerous reasons.
And Dallas will not have a team with Romo and McNabb.
Romo’s the QB until he’s done playing, or at the very least his contract is up. Deal with it.

I was actually being sarcastic.
That was my point exactly. The original poster’s premise of “creating a QB controversy” is just plain goofy. If a guy’s good enough to start, he’d be able to find a suitor withotu having to go elsewhere to “shake things up” and hope to start.
point taken.

Do I need a ticket to get on that Holmgren bandwagon?
Can I use my bus pass.

+1.....I'm all for bringing in Holmgren...If he doesn't mind being OC/Associate HC
can’t get rid of Wade…..He’s not the problem….This whole year, It’s been the bush league play calling and poor game planning of Jason Garrett……..I wish for once all these Garrett backers would call it like it is…A spade is a spade…Garrett sucks, period…..and the mere thought of him being a HC here makes my stomach sour.
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."
- Owner/G.M of the Dallas Cowboys , Jerry Jones
I agree that JG is not yet ready to be a HC.
But he should stay as our OC. Last year this offense set all kinds of team records, we would have been #1 in the league if it wasn’t for NE’s historic season. So while this year has so far been a dissapointment from an offensive standpoint, you need to remember JG is only a second year coordinator in the NFL. Cut him some slack and show a little patience. Besides it isnt good for Romo’s developement to swith schemes
