My pick for our first Undrafted Free Agent pickup

So I'm sitting here watching this Wisconsin vs. Florida State game and this punter for Fl. State is amazing.  His first 3 punts were downed at the 3, 1, and 1 yd lines.  Not because someone raced down to catch the ball, but because of his placement.  I say we try to get him after the draft if he comes out.

I think McBriar is awesome, but if he can consistently do stuff like that, how about some competition at the punter position!

I really can't see a punter being picked up in the Draft, has that happened much before?

Punt

Punters must have great flexibility in their leg to be successful at the position.

Gano is a beast.

but he is way more than a punter. He’s a great kicker too. Too could to sit on the bench for Folk. He’ll be gone much earlier than we are willing to take him.

GO NOLES!!

And by the way plenty of punters are drafted, usually starting in about the fourth round.

Cris Carter....you're dead to me.

I was watching that game also and...

I agree, this guy was nailing some beautiful punts left and right. If Mcbriar can kick the ball some before the draft and looks a little inconsistent not normal after rehabbing an injury, he seems he would be a good draft pick in the 5+ range, especially if he makes it to free agency.

Mcbriar isn't going anywhere

He was just signed last year to a five year contract. Long snapper, Punter or kicker wont be anywhere on the draft wish list nexy year

Could he boom kickoffs?

That’s what we need. A kicker to boom kickoffs through the end zone so our terrible kick coverage isn’t a factor.

Yeah he kicks a lot of touchbacks.

Groza Award winner…..he does it all.

On the Subject of Touchbacks and Punts...

Dont College Players get and extra 5 yards on Kick-Offs? If so then he would have nailed a few in the end zone.

BTW, in the absence of McBriar is there not a punter out there who can nail the ball for a touchback every once in a while? I love Folk … the dude’s clutch, but come on…get it in the end-freakin-zone!!!!

With our luck, Gano will end up being a Redskin or Eagle.
