TO is coming back
not sure why anyone would think otherwise…
I would love to get Ray Lewis here though…

Good Question
Dawan Landry fills an immediate need and should be the target.
Ramsey might be affordable, and Losman has upside but I don’t know which of them is a good holder for the PK.
Nnamdi is out of our price range.
As for o-line, Dallas will look to second tier tackles since they will have a healthy Montrae Holland backing up Bigg and Kosier next year.
With Canty or Spears leaving next year, Dallas will need another base end if Hatcher takes over or a NT (if they move Rat to end). I wonder who is on their radar screen?
Why do you think T.O. is leaving?
Lewis? sure, that’s what we need, another guy who hangs with thugs and gets into murderous bar fights. Yeah, he could party with Pacrat at the strip clubs and while Pac is making it rain and punching out strippers, Ray can shoot it out with Plaxico! They could make a video game out of that one…
ILB is a tough one since you need the right player next to Bradie and I don’t think he is out there.

I don't know that any of those D-Line guys fit in a 3-4.
Well, except for Canty. Suggs would likely be moved to OLB if signed, and Dallas already has Ware and Spencer.
I think the Cowboys are pretty much all set at WR. They have 5 already, so I don’t see them bringing in any free agents. I also don’t see Jerry bringing in any starters for the OL. He’ll probably draft a few prospects and hopefully next year’s rookie class will be as big a hit as this years. Same with backup QB. Bollinger will be elevated to the #2, and they’ll use a late draft pick or sign rookie FA to maybe go on the practice squad.
I suspect our starting safeties next year will be Ken Hamlin and Roy Williams. And I think we’re good to go at CB with Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick, Henry, and Pacman.
I don’t think Jerry is going to go after any big names this year. We could definitely use an ILB, but he may be a little gun shy after the ZT experiment, and already paying big money to Bradie James.

Are you suggesting the Ravens will sign Suggs, Lewis, and Landry?
I don’t buy that.
by houseofprime on Dec 30, 2008 5:01 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Yes, they will be signing those 3 guys
But will be releasing Bart Scott. We are not going to be a big part of Free Agency this year as we feel we already have a strong all around team. So we are going to resign our core guys and replace the ones we cant stick with (Scott) with our drafted players over the past 2 years. The Ravens are THE BEST team in the league at drafting players and using them to their full abilities. We produce more late round picks into stars better than anyone in this league. So we will resign ray, suggs, landry and look to the draft.

Good, since I just said that he wouldn't fit.
And then I said that I don’t think the Cowboys will go after any big name guys. Are you just searching for Ravens’ names and then trying to type something inflammatory?
by Baked Potato Soup on Dec 30, 2008 7:51 AM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Why?
Do the Ravens have some sort of salary cap exemption that gives them another $60 million to play with?
It’s Dawan Landry, not LaRon after all.

Assuming we lose ALL of our FA's...Canty, Bowen, Burnett, Davis, Johnson, Proctor, Berger, Hurd, Austin
AND possibly purge some of our over paid, underachieving signed players : Roy Williams, Anthony Henry, Greg Ellis, Zack Thomas, Barbie Carpenter, James Marten, Pat McQuistan, Pat Watkins,…..THAT would give us plenty of room to become REAL players in the Free Agency market….BUT Jerry has already claimed he will not be seeking out much if any free agents this upcoming year…….I don’t buy that, as the above mentioned players SHOULD be removed and replaced, or not resigned.
If we lose Canty and Bowen via FA- Then Julius Peppers would have a bulls eye on his chest.
If we lose Greg Ellis, via trade or release-Then Terrel Suggs would be a huge upgrade.
If we lose Zack Thomas, Kevin Burnett, and Barbie Carpenter via trade, FA, or release-Then Karlos Dansby would be the best case scenario, followed by Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, John Vilma, or Mike Petterson.
If we lose R Williams, Pat Watkins, and Davis via trade, FA, or release-Then the best safety available would be Oshi Atogwe, followed by Mike Brown, Dawkins, or Landry.
When we release Proctor, Berger, McQuist, and Marten-Then we must fill many holes, and the best OL out there are Jordan Gross and Mike Goff, IN which ONE of these two SHOULD be signed and planted at the LG position, having Holland, Kosier, and Free for depth, while drafting a rookie OC/OG in round 2….
The grand daddy of them all would to aquire Albert Haynesworth, and slap him in the middle, and move Ratliff to the outside in front of Ware…..
I do believe WR-Austin, a RFA will be resigned shortly before FA starts, or at least be offered a 2nd round tender….Canty may resign, but he will test the waters first, and will be signed elsewhere….Burnett, Johnson, Hurd, and the O linemen will all be gone…and hopefully a few others will be cut or traded (Williams, Carp, Watkins, Henry, Ellis)
ok…that’s all we need to do …..Just DO IT Jerry….

Don't start going off the reservation again boyz this year with all these signings and trade scenario's
They aren’t going to happen. This team is pretty much set, you may see one or two of our own restricted or free agents resigned and possibly one or two second tier free agents signed, but that’s about it… You wont see any big names signed and you’re not going to see a bunch of trades…
Marten’s been gone for a while already, he’s with Oakland

I don't see alot of FA signings either
Apparently we will have 10 mil under the cap and if we make some moves it could be more. I think we will concentrate more on the draft to fill some needs, especially at NT, DE, OL, ILB, maybe safety.

BJ Raji & Brace from BC and D Scott of Clemson fot the mold of NT we need...
Raji will be long gone by pick 48-52, Brace is an option in round 2, or early in round 3…Scott could be probably had in round 4.

I like him a lot,
but I think he’s best suited as a specialist. I don’t think he’s big enough to be a 3 down ILB in the 3-4. That being said, some other team is going to give him the opportunity to start, and along with that, starter money. I don’t think he’ll be back.

Food for thought about T.O.
I’ve seen it brought up numerous times that he fits the bill of just the type of vocal leader that should be in Romo’s grill every time he screws the pooch but that seems a little flawed to me. How can a guy who drops as many passes as T.O. has really hold somebody accountable when they’re wreckless with the ball? Sure, T.O. should be pissed if he’s open and Romo doesn’t see him but at some point it becomes nothing more than grandstanding when T.O. drops ball after ball or loses it in the lights or whatever else and still thinks Romo should force it to him every time T.O. thinks he’s open.
Until Romo shows that he has…….
A.) the kind of accuracy where he can overcome T.O. dropping the occasional pass because he’s consistently accurate enough to take advantage of the next big play opportunity………
B.) or even that he possesses the kind the maturity to understand if the opportunity for a big play is missed he doesn’t have to immediately make up for it on the very next play……
Romo’s struggles will continue and T.O. politicking for the ball will only make matters worse.
