from Behind the Steel Curtain
These are just a few opinions and snipits:
Just another game...Not!
'Now wait just one minute', I hear many of you saying. 'We are not out of the woods yet'. Quite right. We won't be out of the woods this year until the last dog dies. Indeed, it is still plausible that we might not make the playoffs at all. But, speaking frankly, yes our schedule is unforgiving, but of the final four regular season opponents is there anyone whom you are frightened of playing? I mean just plain scared. The Cowboys? Are you kidding? They certainly are capable of beating us if we underperform, but I would be annoyed and angry with the Steelers for letting those punks beat them at Heinz with so much at stake...
6.Consider the Steelers 'discovered'. If you haven't noticed the Steelers are now the 'hot' team among the sports punditry and experts. That should only increase if they manage to expose the dinged Cowboys as the pretenders that they are.
Now its predictable for these guys to dis respect us and take us for granted...I can only hope the Steelers players are thinking the same thing.

Confused Pitt fans
Yeah, they are talking hella smack over there and saying that all we are doing on this site is dogging them and not taking them seriously. Check out this to see that the exact opposite is true.
They think the weather will kill our offense and they will walk to an easy victory – NOT! Their running game sucks too and without that defense they would be trolling around .500.
It will be a real challenge for the boys so let’s hope they are ready for some smash mouth football

without the defense?
ya we would be half a team. Good obvservation. Not sure what it means. I don’t know how many teams would have a winning record if they only had offense and special team.-dolt.

It’s not much of a statement. You can’t strip a team of it’s best attributes then compare them to someone else. Wether you gowgirls like it or not our defense is showing up on sunday. And you better be ready.

Did you just say that it was stupid to strip a team of its best attribute
And then make a statement about stripping our team of its best attribute?

Learn to read idiot
I said without “that” defense your record would be around .500. I’m sure Steeler nation is stoked to have an illiterate like you representing them on other websites.

Wow
I wonder what they’re reading? But here’s a nice update for us
Ben Roethlisberger – QB – Steelers
Big Ben tweaks knee in Wednesday’s practice
Byron Leftwich finished up with the first team. Big Ben said afterward
that he just slipped in the mud and doesn’t believe the injury is
serious. Still, he is uncertain to practice Thursday. Stay tuned for
late-week updates. December 3 – 3:39 p.m. ET

FIVE BIG PLAYS
Two on Specials, one on Offense and two on defense.
That’s how we win the game.
Dallas: 23
Pitt: 17

Their ass is probably still sore from how badly the Eagles raped them.
That game may not have been a blowout by any stretch but that had to be one of the worst beatings I’ve ever seen an offense take; particularly a Super Bowl contender. So they’re probably still dealing from post-traumatic stress disorder from that Eagles game and oh, all those AFC Title games they’ve choked away on their own field over the past 15 years.
I don’t know where the disrespect angle is coming from. Ever since the bye week, I’ve thought this was going to be the toughest remaining game on the Cowboys schedule. If it is as windy as it’s supposed to be, Garrett’s going to have to use some serious smoke and mirrors to get the passing game going because I just don’t think the Steelers can be run on.

Just found some gold over at their black and yellow blog.......
“This guy aint no aikman. He is soft and SOFT PEOPLE LOSE IN PITTSBURGH AND YOU NEED A HEART OF STEEL TO WIN THERE, and he has neither.”
Yeah, I guess that’s why the Steelers were 1-4 in AFC Title games IN PITTSBURGH during Cowher’s tenure and Tomlin is already 0-1 there in the playoffs. Thanks for the revelation. From here on out, whenever the Steelers have the best record in the conference, it should be called homefield disadvantage.

when its black and yellow…mustard yellow!

Hell even that proud yankee guy is jumping in on the hate
He is over there commenting on a fanpost criticizing our teams practice methods. I could understand if one of our own came out to defend the team and then he shows up but he just came in to lay on the haterade, it just looks sad to me.

the frogs? Bannanas, Mustard?
it’s black and gold. So what color would you color theorists like to label as gold? I’ll tell you what, trade off all those overpaid ex cons that Jerry Jones likes to call football players and give us some of that cash and we’ll cover up our mustard frog uniforms with gold plating and still hand you your asses on sunday.

It really should come as no surprise that Steeler fans would be as color blind as Neil O'Donnell.
Since you’re from SoCal, you should know that the 9ers colors are red-and-GOLD; which is a totally different and distinguishable color from the Steelers’ mustard stain yellow. The ex-cons thing is weak sauce and not even factual. Well, I’ll grant you Pacman even though he’s skated on all charges but I think his bigger problem is he’s just an idiot like that, uh, one quarterback feller who broke his skull because he wasn’t wearing a helmet when he was riding his little motor scooter.
Besides wasn’t it James Harrison who just this past offseason smacked his old lady up because she handed him a warm beer? Remember ladies, if there’s one thing James Harrison can’t stand, it’s warm firkin beer.

Exactly
The Rams were once yellow, the same color as Pittsburgh. Now they are gold. See the difference?
by Mandmeisterx on Dec 4, 2008 8:20 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Besides, how tough can it really be to win in Pittsburgh?
The Jags won there twice in the span of a month last season including the wildcard game where rock solid surefire hall-of-famer Big Ben turned the ball over four times.
by MadMick on Dec 4, 2008 4:36 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Versus
the number one ranked D across the board? Who the hell said Ben is a rock solid hall of famer. I don’t think anyone that calls themselves a Steeler fan has ever though ben should be in the HOF. We won’t need a huge passing game come sunday, if the conditions are bad enough we will win by keeping the dallas rush to a minimum and run tandem with willie and Moore. And the Jags are the Jags. That’s AFC opposition.
by SoCalSteelerFan on Dec 4, 2008 4:43 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
AFC opposition? Don't give me that AFC rules all garbage anymore.
Especially the way the NFC East’s last place team the Eagles raped the Steelers earlier this year. Oh, and a 10-6 Giants team derailing the undefeatable Patsies to end last season. The AFC Superiority thing has expired.
by MadMick on Dec 4, 2008 4:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I wasn't talking about AFC superiority
I was talking soley about the Jags being in our confrence and us having to play them more often than say, Dallas. Don’t get all excited just yet.
by SoCalSteelerFan on Dec 4, 2008 6:22 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Obviously
The power has shifted this year. Without question the NFC is the better confrence and IMO the NFC east is the toughest division in the NFL.
by SoCalSteelerFan on Dec 4, 2008 6:23 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Dammit, I wasn’t quick enough. Well, since I spent the time typing this up, I’m gonna post it anyway haha.
"Would you not agree that last year the AFC was the stronger conference? Correct me if I’m wrong, but from what I remember the good AFC teams were better than the good NFC teams and the bad AFC teams were just as bad if not worse than the bad NFC teams.
This year, with the NFC South and East playing excellent football and most of the AFC greats underperforming, I will agree that the NFC is the better conference. But if you will remember, the Eagles defense absolutely dominated the Steelers offense in a way that you just don’t see very often with two good teams, but they still only won by 9 points. Pretty interesting. Now that the Steelers have gotten a handle on the ball protection portion of the game, I’m looking forward to seeing what the Cowboys can send into the Steel City."

Please
I’m not a 9ers fan. I don’t even pay that much attention to the NFC. Do you think Ben is fearing Ware. Shit, after ramming his head straight through a sedan I don’t think he fears any defender. Oh no! James Harrison hit someone, Holmes smoked a blunt? Those infractions are miniscule compared to the Dallas soap opera I have had to watch everytime I turn on NFL network. Drama, Drama, Drama… well thankfully the only drama left in Dallas is how they are going to get to the playoffs next year. Because this is not their year.
by SoCalSteelerFan on Dec 4, 2008 4:40 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Yes
I think the Steelers do fear Ware. If they don’t, they’re ignorant. That’s like saying the Cowboys don’t worry about Harrison ….
You’re not doing a very good job of talking smack. You suck at it actually.

Really?
yep you beat me. I suck at talking smack. Once again i’ll explain it in lamens terms since no one here can comprehend any rational thought. I’m saying that since Ben Rothelisberger’s head went through a car window he’s probably not afraid to get hit by an NFL LB (Ware.) Yes, pitt is going to prepare for him, and yes Ben has spent time watching Ware on tape. (they’re not writing him off as a non-threat.) I’m just saying BB isn’t going to fear him as much as TR is going to fear the silverback.

Is Big Ben building up a resume so he can audition to play the Six Million Dollar Man or something?
by MadMick on Dec 4, 2008 7:32 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Might I suggest?
That if you don’t like the NFL’s soap opera-esque coverage, DON’T WATCH it. This whole Plaxico Burress thing is already beyond nauseating and it’s just getting started but that doesn’t change the brand of smashmouth football the Giants put on the field.
by MadMick on Dec 4, 2008 4:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Believe me MadMick
I’m not looking to watch football drama; I mean Dallas news. The plax thing should be dead now since all the reprocussions have occured and he won’t be in court till March. But everynow and then it’s not unfathomable to turn on NFL network to watch some NFL highlights and scores. Do you think America wants to watch America’s team bitch, whine, and cry every week. No. We don’t.
by SoCalSteelerFan on Dec 4, 2008 6:30 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
And I'm going to say right now.
That I like Tony Romo, I think he should be the most respected player in Dallas for being the least dramatic, in Dallas. Maybe Carson Palmer too for putting up with Ocho Stinko’s crap all the time. I read an article a while back about Romo stopping to help and elderly couple that had broken down on the side of the road. He didn’t tell the couple his name, ask for money, or media attention. He just helped like every “rubber-necker” doesn’t do and was on his way. It was only because the elderly woman recognized him on tv, called the team and wanted to thank him once more, that it ever was even known. It’s class act players like Romo that I respect in the NFL. Maybe Dallas would have a chance in the post season if they could get all their players on the same humble page as Romo.

Here's my thing
If people want to talk smack about the Cowboys, fine do it on your own blog. But don’t come over here and troll. I actually welcome opposing teams’ fans when they come over here to have insightful conversations about our team or theirs, but I don’t dig it when people come over and are just disrespectful. I’m fully aware that people from this blog were also somewhat disrespectful, and I don’t advocate their behavior either. Also, if any of our guys have made their way to the BTSC blog, I hope that they have also acted decently and respectfully, and I don’t appreciate the fact that they would represent this blog in any other way because, for the most part, this is a real high quality blog, as far as both content and community. Ok, I’m done being Mr. Mom for the evening. HAHA
