We all just need to calm down
Did I turn off the game on Sunday? Yes.
Do I believe that this team lacked passion and desire wen they needed it most? Yes.
Do I think that this team needs to have a lot of changes? Yes.
But what I don't think is that we need to tear everything down that we have built up right now. We don't need to crucify our quarterback. We don't need to cut our best offensive weapon for the past 3 seasons (TO). We don't need to pick up our torches and pitchforks in order to run Wade and/or Jerry out of town.
Right now it feels like the Cowboys, the team we love the most have hit rock bottom. It feels like we have put out the absolute worst product that this team can possibly put out. I just want everyone to take a breath and look at the whole picture. Going 9-7 and missing the playoffs by one game is a hell of a rock bottom to hit. If this is our worst performance then that makes me even more excited to see a better one from us. We will rebound. We will change.
The Lions went freaking 0 and 16 this year. The Chiefs and Rams went 2 and 14 and the Browns, Bengals, and Seahawks went 4 and 12. Would you rather be one of these teams?
Our "worst" is still better than 18 teams in the NFL.
STOP POLARIZING when it comes to the cowboys. It seems like everyone here is like freaking Katy Perry and things are either hot or cold, black or white. Was this season was a failure? YES. But so was every other season in the teams history except for 5.
This isn't the end of the world guys. I'm only 18 years old and I've grown up watching the Cowboys, sadly the only super bowl I even remember being cognizant of is our last one.
I understand that most of the people here lived through the glory days and are dying to see them again. I've grown up with concussion Troy, Emmitt just stretching for the record and a whole lot of 5-11 crap. I wish more than anything for the cowboys to be the best in the land and dominant in every aspect but that takes time to develop.
I don't want to be a team that has a revolving door at head coach, or quarterback, or any position because that is simply a recipe for failure. Do you remember Quincy the cokehead, or Henson and Chutch the baseball players? How about Vinny T or Bledso, the two with cinderblocks for feet? I remember the feeling that I had when we put Romo in for Drew and as the season panned out we realized that we had finally gotten a quarterback. A real quarterback. This is his third season to see playing time in the NFL. His third. At this point, the first round pick Troy hadnt won a superbowl either. Kinda harsh that we expect undrafted Romo to be more polished and ready for Troy. Give him a break, he's our quarterback, we can't do that to our quarterback (no I'm not crying haha)
Sure get a new coach for next year. If he fails to win a superbowl do you fire him? Then what? At some point you're going to have to let a system to get settled and I don't think that even 2 years is enough to do that.
Look at the winners of the SB lately and tell me who had only a second year HC? I may be wrong but i think the only one (and it was a freak example because he was handed the unquestionably best defense in the league) is Gruden with the Bucs.
I agree that Wade needs to get this team into shape, fix the chemistry and the penalties and be a little more strict. Run him out of town? I dont think so. Be grateful for a minute that there are no fans going to Cowboy games wearing brown bags on their heads...

When all the handwringing comes to a close
people will realize that our season-ending implosion was EXACTLY what was needed. The team’s problems are laid bare for all to see, and not even the biggest optimist can deny them. Wade knows things are bad, Jerry knows things are bad, as does every player.
Whether or not the right moves are implemented to fix the problems is anyone’s guess….but we’re nine months away from knowing the answer to that question.
Come and whisper in my ear, give us dirty laundry - ESPN
I think Jerry is standing pat for now, because there is really no coach he likes out there.
I think he’s waiting for the big fish, like Cowher and Holmgren to be ready to coach again.
Cris Carter....you're dead to me.

i think he doesnt want to pay
2 coaches not to coach during the lockout in 2010.
he has made veiled remarks to this extent.
he appears to be cutting back costs until we get labor peace.
Cutting back costs?
After the deals he did this offseason and with RW2?
Are you serious?
"Well, we didn't block real good but we made up for it by not tackling."

+1.....well written piece...I knew early on this team would fall short due to injuries...It happens..
NO TEAM has ever overcome the amount of injuries this team encountered and won a Championship……As much as I held on to the hope they would overcome this on shere talent alone, It was not to be…IMO….This is probably the most talented roster in the league, and it will only get better next year and the years to come I believe…Am I upset we’re not in the playoffs ?? sure…Did I expect us to lose in Philly Sunday ?…yes…I sure did…..This wasn’t our year….Let’s move on to fight another day…Free Agency signings begin in about 2 months, The Draft in about 4 months, OTA’s in 5-6 months, and training camp in about 7 months……..I sure don’t want to constantly read posts by nay sayers and pessimistic miserable wanna be fans writing jibberish for the next 7 months…Let’s all take a deep breathe and move forward in a positive manner………Remember :: There are fans out there a whole lot more disappointed in their teams performance than we are…Tampa, NYJ, and Denver fans had their playoff plans ripped from their hands in the last month of the season….We were never in that position…And shouldn’t feel as bad as those fans, or fans in Clev, GB, Jax, Seattle either…
The silly season begins now….possible loss of coaches, free agents, and released players….We got the draft to focus on, for as of right now we are picking somewhere between 48-51 overall in the second round…There are 50 really good players coming out this year, and we’re gonna land one of them…Heck, we’re gonna have like 5 of the top 120 players out there….Let’s hope the great GM-Jerry Jones continues on his run of successful drafts, and we land that top notch OL, LB, or S we so desperately need in the early rounds………I’d love to christan the new stadium with a SB banner…

there is always next year
and every season is different from the last. You’re right Boyz, this simply was not our year. I kind of got that feeling when it seemed like every week we had another guy going on IR. When lose you lose key personnel to injuries, its tough to win in this league.
In Romo we Trust

They’ll be better next year. I believe it.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works, every time.
which puts the Cowboys right int he middle of the pack so can we stop the talk about how talented this team is
Lifetime Cowboys Fan from the Swamps of Jersey
really that means that we are a talented team
if we play our poorest and its still better than more than half of the league, thats a lot better than playing our poorest and going 0-16. We are a talented team and thats the reason that our worst season only dropped us to 9-7 and one game away from the playoffs

Yep, things could be worse. We could be back in the era of perpetual 5-11 seasons and Quincy Carter. But we’re a .500 team since the Green Bay win last year, and we’re in the bottom 5 in the league in all of the “Discipline Indicators” (Special Teams, Penalties, Offensive Turnovers). Wade Phillips is a great coordinator, but we need someone to impose accountability in the building. In fact, I think we need more than one person. Which is why to me, a Schottenheimer-Capers-Garrett staff looks pretty good to me.
I totally agree, but if Garrett stays as the offensive coordinator, T.O would have to go
he’s already underminded him in the Deion interview
For better or worse
They’ll make up. A Schottenheimer-Capers combo sounds good right now, even though I’m really not against Wade at the moment.

umm....I believe ROMO, RWII, CRAYTON, AND TO all undermined that joke of a OC....

PArcells can opt put of his contract with Miami. Maybe he'll come back

"FAT" chance that'll happen..
And whoever felt Garrett wasn’t a major reason why this offense failed must be awoken, cuz you been sleeping for the past 6 months..I’m all for change, but keeping Garrett and getting rid Wade is NOT the answer..
