Your Cowboys Numbers of the Day
10-2
That's Dallas' road record in the Phillips Era when Tony Romo starts at QB.
The only losses were the meaningless '07 season finale, where Dallas pulled the starters at the half, and this year's Arizona game. The Wade Cowboys are better on the road than at home -- they're 10-3 with Romo as a starter in Texas Stadium.
Adjust your optimism accordingly.

BS report
I just listened to Bill Simmons podcast on espn, where he talked football with Mike Lombardi. Lombardi was under the impression that Pitt’s field worked against the Steelers because it slowed down their defense. He also said they would be better off as a wild card team playing on the road each week.

Lombardi also mentions it on his blog.
5. I think the speed of the Pittsburgh defense is amazing, and playing on Field Turf only enhances it. Given how fast the Steelers played, Coach Mike Tomlin is probably telling Dan Rooney to consider putting it down in Heinz Field.

They need to do something
My high school had a better field.

Ware's latest interview echoed this, he said that they like coming into an opposing crowd being loud
at the beginining and then having them get quiet later in the game when they are winning.

Sunday's game will come down to two things
one, If the offensive line can establish just enough of running game game keep their defense honest, that will go along way in winning the game, the second is Tony Romo has to protect the ball and not turn it over giving the Steelers a short field to work with. The weather will be a major factor, the steelers will want it rainy/snow and windy, that would give them an advantage, the cowboys would like a nice sunny, no wind game, Should be a good one, low scoring, I think the game comes down to a late fieldgoal..

I agree, but not only does Romo need to protect the ball
MB3 and Choice also need to protect the ball as well, along with our returners.
Cowboys stay away from turnovers, they win the game as Steelers feed off of TOs.

+1
Avoid turnovers, I think we win.
Raf also raises the good point of how good Dallas is on the road. That’s a sign of a championship team. Maybe it won’t be so bad if we’re a number 5 or 6 seed in the playoffs.
One other piece of history. Dallas hasn’t lost in Pittsburgh in over two decades. We dismantled them on the road in season openers in 1994 and 1997, and barely lost in the season opener in 1988 in Michael Irvin’s coming out party.

I think the last time was 1979
however, all the times since then have been games in Sept and Oct, when there was actually good weather in western Pa.
I should know, I attended most of them.

I sort of agree
Of course turnovers will kill them, but the line needs to pass protect even more than run block. This team leverages off the passing game. If Romo has time, the WRs get separation and bigger plays can be had. That in turn will back DBs off the run support and blitzing schemes. Conversely, if Dallas has to keep TEs and backs in to help block, they can afford to bring guys up into the box.

Romo was also 4-1 on the road
in 2006, for a combined 14-3 road record as a starter (he’s 12-6 at home!).
Btw the one road loss in 2006 was of course because of that ridiculous blocked Vanderjadgt FG+Sean Taylor return+15 yard bogus facemask = last second Redskins 45 yard game-winning FG. Not even close to Romo’s fault; in fact, in his second career start he had driven the Cowboys on a last-minute drive against the Redskins in Washington and put the team in a position for an easy win.

underdogs
I dont think I have seen anybody(other than this blog) predicting a win for us against Pittsburgh. Even Emmitt is bashing us. I may be the only one but I love it. This team just doesnt seem to do as well when everyone is praising them. Keep on bashing us and we will just keep on winning.

I'd rather see Dallas as the underdog
I think most “experts” have also classified Dallas as a “finesse” team. I guess they didn’t watch the WAS game a few weeks ago. You can’t get more smash mouth than that.

Nice point Raf
… and it should be pointed out that the Arizona game featured not one, but two, special teams TDs against us. Not even close to Romo’s fault. It’s not that he or the team played all that well in that one, but we spotted them 13 points…

If you're being totally fair, though.
The Cowboys were lucky they didn’t spot Arizona an even bigger lead at the start of that game. First, you had Romo bailed out on a fumble by an early whistle and then the Cardinals got screwed out of a TD on a fumble recovery by the tuck rule; which is still by far the gayest thing since gay came to gaytown.
Romo definitely deserves his fair share of the blame for that loss.

Of course but remember
that was the start of “Bad Flo” and “No Kosier”. Some of it came from Romo needing to protect the ball and some came off hits from the blind-side. And I think at that point Romo was trying to “trust the line” and maintain pocket position. I think he has gone back now to moving instinctively because of the problems they’ve had on the left side.

"The gayest thing since gay came to gaytown"
that made me chuckle. I’m pretty immature, though…
Maybe edit that a bit so that it says “the gayest thing since gay came to gaytown and yelled ‘hello, I’m gay!’”

Credit goes to Master Shake.
It’s actually a quote from a show on Cartoon Network; Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

If you like the raunchiness and absurdity of Family Guy, you might want to check this out. It also cribbed the whole "Kenny dies weekly" gimmick from South Park and takes it to another level as the whole cast usually either ends up getting offed or just ending up really worse for wear in every episode. The basic premise is that a meatball, milkshake and box of fries live next door to this obese balding Giants fan named Carl and Murphy’s Law comes into play every episode as these idiots get into one mess after another. One of the plots even involved former Giants center Bart Oates tricking Carl into assassinating somebody but Oates actually turned out to be some kind of terminator-type of cyborg.
