Blackout on Traditional Media
When these sorts of losses happen, I go into the bunker. That’s how I deal. It’s tough to deal with some of the co-workers, but at least I don’t have to hear the talking heads on ESPN yammering away. I can’t even turn on ESPN on the radio in the truck. I just have it tuned to NPR for the week.
I’m in North Central PA, so I cannot lean on a ton of shoulders these days. Steeler and Eagle fans are everywhere. This site is helping, though. While I don’t go to any of the linked articles and analysis, I find great comfort in reading many of the post and comments from the readers. I especially appreciate the playoff analysis/wild cart hunt posts.
As a side note, I feel bad. In the comments, I noted some guys saying it would be crazy to have rooted for the Eagles. Well, I was rooting for the Eagles to beat the Giants. I really thought we could win the Pittsburgh game, and I just thought that the division was within reach. Personally, I hate the Eagles more than the other teams in the division. Its probably more a function of their fans, but . . .

Agreed friend
A lot of the posts here regarding that (some of us fans rooting for the Eagles) would have you think that we made them win. Dear God, if I had that ablility….it’s just funny. Too many folks are superstitous that way, but it’s really funny that we get chewed out for it, lol

It's true.
It’s our fault that the Cowboys lost and the Eagles won, because we focused too much of our combined mental powers on willing the Eagles to victory, and not enough toward the Cowboys. Dear God, what have we done?!

The Giants weren't going to lose their last four games
They’re a completey football team. Division was out of reach a long time ago. I want the Eagles to lose only because I dont want that last game of the season in Philly to mean anything. Right now, the eagles are a half game back of the cowboys..
A cowboy lose this week and a Eagles win, we’re behind the Eagles in the wildcard race….that would be ugly

A game vs. Philly ALWAYS means something…

But ya know
If the Cowboys lose and then this, then that, blah blah blah, you can concentrate on Christmas and dream about next year.
Also, the Giants have nothing to do now except wait for the playoffs and you can’t think that doesn’t make some sort of difference in the way they mentally approach the game. They are already short some areas and aggravating any exsisting injuries is not something they want to incur at this point. Maybe they have something to prove, maybe not, I just can’t see them coming into this game with the same intensity.
I really really hope we pull out all the stops and get er done.

I think they overlooked the Eagles
because they’re so worried about the Cowboys coming in (go figure).

I made it through Sportscenter after the game, but after that, I just turn the channel.
