The Future

Hey guys, I'm sorry if this isn't the place to post this as it doesn't really pertain to the Cowboys.

Star-divide

SB Nation is getting a makeover it seems and I was just wondering when Blogging the Boys is scheduled for the change. I went over to the only remodeled one so far, Athletics Nation. It looks pretty cool and it seems easy to use.

You can also go to the A's page to go get your old username and connect them to the other SB Nation blogs when they all go to the new style.

Oh, and the coolest thing, no more Diaries, now we get FanPosts.

Yep, this is good stuff

I've already reserved my global username. I love that feature.

lol...Moyal

I think the chances of getting hit by lightening are better than Or Moyal being taken by someone else.

Well...I'm not too happy

with the fact that although I signed up here as Brandon, when BTB (if, when?) switches over, I lose my username.  I believe thats how it works, or at least how it sounded.  I had to come up with a new one.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

Put a

claim for your username here.

In most cases you should be able to keep your old username, but a few of you may have to choose something new. The reason is that every other community in SB Nation will be going through this same transition and some of them have the same username that you do. We tried to be as fair as possible about deciding who gets to keep which name using a formula that takes into account length of membership, amount of activity and how recently you've been active. The important thing is that whatever name you have will be retroactively put on all of your old comments and diaries

Yeh...I know it said the possibility was there

But my simple username of "Brandon" has been in use by an administrator of another blog for awhile I guess.

So...I had to come up with something new.

Actually, I'm going with a nickname this time :P

Expect a new user to post profusely in the near future.

Yes, we will be changing over

in the near future. I'm not sure of the date yet but I expect sometime in March/April.

The new platform is great. We draw in stats from a service and you can check Cowboys, plus most other major sports team stats, right from the blog. It will have a ton more information available. Diaries will now be called FanPosts and I can add widgets that show the schedule, draft info, all kinds of things.

Once you guys get used to the new format I think you'll love it. The claiming of names is an issue, but we'll try to work through that.

We built this platform ourselves and it should be a major leap forward in sports blogging.

BTW, good eye Romo9 for catching this. Athletics Nation was a test launch of the platform to work out the kinks before we start moving the whole network over.

If you're reading this, you could be commenting, too. Sign up for a free account on Blogging The Boys.
