Zach Thomas interview on Michael Irvin Show
I strongly suggest listening to this interview. I've alway liked Zach and this definitely reinforces it. He talks Defense, his desire to let his actions speak for him, why he chose Dallas over New England, and what he hopes to accomplish with the Cowboys. Definitely worth the listen. Anytime you can bring in a Class Act into the clubhouse you are automatically improving your team. Good Signing.

I think he'll bring much needed leadership
to the locker room. Anything he gives us on the field is just an added bonus as far as I'm concerned.

I totally agree Terry...
It sounds like the concussion issue is a non-issue and if that's the case, I think Zach will prove his worth on the field.
Like Zach said in the interview, he has always been the underdog and now has motivation to prove he can still play.
With the combine, people get caught up in numbers and measurables and rightfully so to a point; but give me football players. Players make plays and Zach Thomas is just that.....

concussions is never a non issue
Once you have one, especially a serious one where you have nagging headaches and migraines for a long period of time as Thomas had, you become very susceptive to having another with less contact, and it takes even longer to recover to the point where you even just feel like yourself, its an injury that never fully heals, damage is done. Thomas, at the position he plays where he'll have dozens of full helmet to helmet contact during a game, has a very good chance of being reinjured, it is a concern.

big deal....
that's why we'll have Carp & Burnett to back him up...if he gets injured....then everyone will finally get to see their #1 & #2 picks play full time...

If he stays functionally healthy all season...
... he will definitely be productive and a huge asset to our defense.
I'm rootin' for him.

Love 'em or hate 'em
I consider it a good sign that New England was trying to get him. Their off-season moves are the gold standard. It's a good pickup as much for veteran leadership as anything else.
