Gregg Williams to Jaguars

Well, we don't have to worry about Williams not fitting into our 3-4 scheme as a coach or consultant.

Star-divide

According to the folks over at ProFootballtalk.com, it seems the Jaguars will announce the hiring of Gregg Williams to be their D-Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach, which is the same position he was in with the Skins.

Personally i'd rather have Capers on the staff that Williams. But I don't think either were going to be our new linebackers coach, which is something we do need to hire. What about Dat Nguyen?

I'm only half-kidding.

Need changes
Something needs to be done about that vanilla defense. Stewart is in over his head. We need someone that can teach discipline and aggressiveness, also a new special teams coach would not hurt.

I don't think Capers is going to be an option

ESPN is reporting that the Giants D coordinator is probably going to be hired to take over as HC of the Redskins.  If that's the case then the likely replacement as NY DC is......DOM CAPERS!!!  So we go from discussing the plethora of highly qualified coaches we could have to losing out on ALL of them in the space of 24 hours.

Why would Dom Capers go to New York?

He runs the 3-4....unless he is going to change their scheme or adapt his coaching....

There is nothing saying Capers is even considered to go to NYC since it has yet to be determined Spagnuolo is even leaving.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

Ok hold on

Just read somewhere that Capers ran the 4-3 under Coughlin in Jacksonville.  Need to do my research before ranting lol.

I think they ran

a 3-4 in Jacksonville during the time Coughlin was there.

Kinda researched it...

All I could find was a roster list of the Jags in 99.  It listed Defensive Ends, Right and Left Defensive Tackles and Right, Left and middle linebackers.

This was a surprise to me and makes Capers pretty valuable.

We NEED Capers in here now...

I only hope him not stepping on B. Stewarts toes, isn't the reason he he hasn't signed yet...screw B Stewart....fire him and make Capers D Coordinator.

Jerry has to pony up with the same money as Garrett got, and get this done.....let Wade let down the kid.I had a bad feeling about Stewart from the get go...

Dat Nguyen

whatever happened to him coming in? I remember getting his autograph at Training Camp last year...

My popcorn's ready!

He is on the staff...inside backers i believe...

did his contract expire and he is no longer wanted ?

I find it hard to believe they wouldn't retain him as an assistant....one of the most fundementally sound ILB and tacklers ever to wear our uniform.

I'd Rather Have Williams

Seems to me he's been the architect of those Redskin defenses that have kicked the crap out of the Boys on a pretty regular basis.  Might have been nice to beef up our D.  Also, the Jags are already a tough D and just got a lot tougher.
