not sure if that has been determined yet, but

its almost always the last week of July, probably around 25th or 26th, Grizz would know more than me since he's always in attendence.

They won't announce that until later

They aren't even sure yet if it will be in San Antonio or Oxnard.

I thought

San Antonio bought it out for 5 years?

They did

But there is an huge issue of scheduling for the Alamodome that they did not forsee right away.  I can't remember what the issue was exactly.

I am hoping it's in San Antonio.  I plan on trying to drop in for a few days.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

Yes they did
but when Jerry signed on for the five years, there was an understanding that there was a convention already booked for those two weeks of training camp at the AlomoDome, and that Dallas would have to make a decision on whether to have training camp at Valley Ranch or have training camp in Oxnard for two weeks because of the booking conflict at the alomoDome.
Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.

Grizz, I thought Jerry already decided

training camp was going to be in Oxnard this year. I could be mistaken, but I thought I read that somewhere.

Unless you know something I don't

The latest I heard is that they were in discussions to possibly move to Oxnard this year.

Here's the Calvin Watkins article from early December.

Cowboys officials are in preliminary discussions about the possibility of moving their 2008 training camp from San Antonio to Oxnard, Calif., their camp site from 2004-06, according to a source.

yeah, thats probably what I read

Jerry is looking into it but hasn't made a decision yet.

As somebody who attends TC, which location do you prefer? I attended TC in 2004 at Oxnard and when the team practiced on the near field, it was great, you could see a lot, but when they practiced on the far field, you could hardly see anything.

I'm assuming you could view all of the practices a lot better at the Alomodome.

It's kind of a toss-up

At the Alamadome, you could see pretty well all the time. And the climate control in summer in San Antonio was definitely a good thing. But at Oxnard, when they practiced on the close field, you could get within ten feet of the action. I actually had a conversation with T-New when he was standing on that side of the field during a practice. But when they go to the other field it sucks.

Went to my first TC this summer

It was so great. I live in Austin so it was a quick drive down to the Alamodome with some of my friends. We made plans to go again as soon as we started to head back north.

It was easy to see most if not all of what was going on. I have no frame of reference as to how it is in Oxnard.

I'm hoping it will be

in San Antonio again! I had such a good time.

TC was a blast

I even saw Grizz there! But seriously, for all Texas natives I think SA is obviously more accomadating. I've never been to Oxnard, but it sure seemed hard to beat SA. The VIP section was exceptionally phenomenal. =)
