2008 player rankings
I never played fantasy football. Not for any specific reason other than i simply dont have the time. so i dont claim to be an expert on it but, i noticed this on NFL.com and thought it was interesting where our guys rank. not suprising.. but interesting. they go all the way to 30, i'll just post enough to get the idea, and add my two cents at the end.

First off, i dont think this really means anything. but it can if you take into consideration how and why these rankings are compiled. It goes into anticipated production based on the season completed. "Value" if you will (they even put dollar amounts to that?.. i left those out).
- Tom Brady
- Peyton Manning
- Tony Romo
- Drew Brees
- Carson Palmer
I like the fact that Romo comes in right after the two QB's that people constantly talk about being two of the best ever. But the top 3 kinda reads like the top 3 "Worst choke artists" in the league (no offense Tony I still got ya back). But I'm confident Romo can live up to the intended ranking.
- LaDainian Tomlinson
- Adrian Peterson
- Brian Westbrook
- Steven Jackson
- Joseph Addai
- Larry Johnson
- Frank Gore San
- Marshawn Lynch
- Clinton Portis
- Willis McGahee
- Ryan Grant
- Willie Parker
- Ronnie Brown
- Marion Barber
I also like that MB3 comes in in the top 15 runningbacks. Pretty soon this guy is gonna get the respect he truly deserves (which means not just from NFC east fans). With him starting for the full season in '08 he's sure to get his. I can see him somewhere between 7 and 10 this time next year realistically.
- Antonio Gates
- Jason Witten
- Kellen Winslow
- Tony Gonzalez
- Chris Cooley
- Randy Moss
- Terrell Owens
- Reggie Wayne
- Braylon Edwards
- Andre Johnson
TO & Jason Witten theres not much I have to say about those two. The most productive players on the offense and two of the most prolific players (if not the most) at their position in the history of the franchise, without disrespecting the greats of Cowboys past. NE way, no suprise there.
- Nicholas Folk
- Mason Crosby
- Stephen Gostkowski
- Robbie Gould
- Nate Kaeding
Nick Folk, oh excuse me NICHOLAS Folk... Pro Bowl Rookie.. The folk hero of week 5 and beyond is holding the top spot among kickers. Wow. He tied for 12th for made FG during the regular season, and only missed 5 (i think 1 or 2 of them were blocked?) all season. Without a doubt the highest contributer from last years draft. Gives me a good feeling (especially after the last few years) that we finally got that position taken care of.
- Patriots
- Chargers
- Cowboys
- Vikings
- Steelers
Defense and special teams is a whole nother discussion that i really dont want to get into.
Also, NFL.com has an interview with Roy Williams and Greg Ellis in which Roy williams states how much hes going to miss Todd Bowles next season. The interview ends up making a comment about how he sounds like he'd want to follow him to Miami. Nice little interview & a little food for thought for all of you anticipating a Roy Will trade.
They also have an interview with Jason Witten coupled with some offseason discussion here. & Demarcus Ware/Osi Umenyiora debating who the best player from Troy University is here.
Another user-created commentary provided by a BTB reader.

My mind tells me...
to get as much as we can for Roy, but my heart says, give the once beloved Cowboy one more shot.

he'll get one more shot as no team
will trade for him, unless we give him away for nothing which we won't.
