Showing some love
Dcfanatic has put together a nice video on his blog of a running back that's been high on my list for a long time..

I'm not taking anything away from mcfadden, he's a great player, I just dont think it's wise for a team to trade away a bundle of draft picks to move up into the top ten for a player, especially a running back, Mendenhall is also a nice back but you have to be leary of a guy thats only had one college year of production..
Maybe you've heard of this guy, I have mentioned him a time or two here on the blog, his name is Jonathan Stewart. DcFantic has made a comparison that Stewart is a faster Emmitt Smith, I couldn't agree more. I've watched this kid for two years now and I truely believe Jonathan Stewart is going to be a bigtime pro...

the other difference between the two
is that Emmitt was as tough and durable as any player in the history of the league, Stewart seems to have durability issues.

would it be a reach to
take him with the #22 pick instead of waiting for #28?

It depends
On who else is there. If McKelvin, Cromartie, Mendenhall, Kelly or Sweed are there It's a reach. But if they are, I strongly consider packaging 28 with a very late pick and moving up enough spots to get one of the aforementioned elites as well as Stewart. I don't want to risk him getting grabbed by 28.

If he couls stay healthy
then he could be a very good back, maybe even a pro bowler. But thats a reasonable if as he has had continuous injuries. He isn't very explosive and can't really fit into gaps very well. Also, isn't Oregon a spread offense? He also has only carried the full load until his last season, but thats not too big a deal because he still had ample attempts for the past 2 years.
I don't really see the Emmitt comparisons besides the fact that Stewart is patient and has decent vision.

This is and will be the better back
Highly unlikely he'll be around at 22

I really like Stewart
I think he's underrated. The guy's a fantastic runner, I just don't know if he fits with us, I think he's alot like Barber but not as insane.
