Pacman...A Cowboy????

I hear that the cowboys are close to a deal with the Titans regarding Adam "PacMan" Jones.

Star-divide

According to the story,we have offered one of our 2 6th rounders. The Titans have been holding out for a 4th round pick. Also Dallas was asking for a conditional pick,if Jones were to be suspended...we'd in essence get that pick back from Tennessee.

If this deal is made...does this change anything going into the draft,or do we go ahead and plan on taking the bestCB available at #22.

what do you guys think?

obviously this would not change their draft

strategy considering that Pacman could very easily be suspended or banned from the league like Henry.

Tis uncommon that I would agree with Terry. . .

But I don't think this impacts our 1st round picks.  Its more than likely that we'll pick a CB on day one regardless of Adam Jones' status with the team.

yeah...but we won't have to reach for one...

If the top 3 (DRC, McKelvin, Jenkins)are gone at #22....we wait til #28 to get Cason or FS Phillips....If they are gone, we can easily trade down with #28 to early 2nd, and get Porter or Smith...or mid to late 2nd and get King, Flowers, or Godfrey....It makes things a whole lot easier if we got Adam Jones here....trust...

geeeez...Just get this thing done already....

Damn it man.....This is killin' me...We don't even have 2 6th rounders...Where do these idiots get their info ?...We swapped 6th rounders in the Ferguson deal...We only have 1...at the top of the 6th...Give a pick back to us if he screws up ?....nonsense...These clowns either have to print some ligit info...or sit on their hands til some real, reliable info is released...these stories do nothing but stir our azz's up....

This is puttin a damper on my parade...Get it done Jerry....Give them a 6th this year and next year's 6th....enough already.

This is a hilarious post...

BoyzR, you offer many great comments, but I just gotsta say, I'm glad It's Jerry and not you negotiating here!

I admit, I also am impatient to see how this ends up, but you gotta admire Jerry's desire to get the best deal.  He's a hustler, but he's our hustler!

Tar Heels football will surprise this year.

If you don't think Adam Jones is worth 2 6th rder

then your losing out on a top 5 talent....You can play hard ball like Jerry obviously is......but if you lose out on a guy that's really worthy of a 1st rounder...then your not doing anything better than I would.. 2 6th rounders for Pacman is a steal...seeing it's most likely neither 6th rounder from these upcoming drafts would contribute or even make our squad.

It will take more than one 6th round pick, i'm sure of it.

Yawn

It's all semantics. Not to say I don't agree with Jerry taking the strict no-negotiation stance, but It's a done deal and has been for a while.
As for our draft strategy, I don't buy that it will stay EXACTLY the same. We're going to place slightly less priority on taking a top CB; for example, if we have Felix Jones one spot ahead of Aqib Talib on our draft board we may have been compelled to take Talib anyway- with PacMan, we would not. The difference, will not, however, be pronounced. And it shouldn't, drafting cornerbacks is one of the smartest moves you can make. They don't have a high bust factor, don't cost too much (initially, of course, which is why it makes so much sense. There's about 70 million dollars' of difference between Nate Clements and Antonio Cromartie) and you can never have too many.

So busy with this blog that he has no time to update his own. Props to Grizz and co. (i.e. everyone here) :) Embrace Adam Jones! PacMan is history!
