Primetime games - Three Sunday night games, one Monday night game, one NFL network Saturday night game. Dallas is one under the max out schedule of 6 primetime games, so don't be surprised to see one Dallas Cowboy game being part of the flex schedule late in the season on NBC, the game I think might be moved to Sunday night is the Dallas/Pittsburgh game.

Of course the Thanksgiving game and the national FOX game to start the season off in Cleveland.

Question for you terry

I live in Gburg, my GF is a huge steelers fan. How would you recommend i get tickets to the game?

by thebigham on Apr 15, 2008 1:18 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I'm getting my tickets online

I used to purchase tickets through properformance.com but last season I used ticketmaster.com

Ticketmaster there was nothing. If i miss it let me know when they go up. If you can. Thanks man

I don't think tickets go on sale

until May, at least thats the earliest I've purchased them. You might just want to keep checking periodically.

nonsense!

Cold weather football games are awesome!  I can't wait to go to that Dallas/Pitt game in December.  The only bummer is that I'll have to check a bag since it will be necessary to haul lots of cold weather gear to PA.

I'm a little bummed out the Green Bay game is early.  I was hoping for a late October/November fall game at Lambeau.  Oh well.  At least I'll be able to get a round or two in at Thornberry Creek while in the Green Bay area.

I'm waiting for the new stadium to open in 2009 before heading back down to Big D. Texas stadium, while nostalgic, is a dump.

by Cowboy Louie on Apr 15, 2008 1:41 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

you can have it Louie, I hate it!

I've sat in plenty cold games watching the Panthers in that stadium and it sucks.

If the game becomes an NBC game as part of the flex scheduling, it will even be worse because it will be a night game. I gotta go load up on Under Armour heat gear for sure.

Anyone agree/disagree?

+1
I also how there is no 3 road games in a row or division games. It pretty much just goes back and forth. Oh 4/6 of the last games are at home maybe itll help our december slump.

I will be heading to the Cleveland game

I was hoping the opener would be in Cleveland so we could go when it was not too cold.

Also plan on heading to a game in Big D. Looks like it might be the Baltimore game.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

My takes

I see four potentially tough games to start the year.  Each of those teams either finished above .500 or right at it.

I love the Week 10 BYE week -- smack dab between division road games @NYG and @Wash.

The two home games in four days (SF 11/23 and SEA 11/27 Thanksgiving) will be tougher than most people might think right now.

The schedule to close the season [four contests @ Pitt, home vs NYG, home vs BAL - whose D is still tough, and @Philly to end the regular season - expect John Harbaugh/new Bal HC to give his old team some notes) could possibly be a killer and again bring into question our penchant for December swoons over the past few seasons.

With the team we currently have -- of course that will change just before draft day, on draft day, and after June 1 cuts -- I could see us going 9-7 or 10-6 in my opinion.

Oh how I hope we have a killer draft and better off season leading up to Training Camp.

And oh how I hope that my prediction is way short of our actual 2008 win total.

It is way too early to draw conclusions

Last year, it looked like game at Chicago, at Miami and St. Louis at home would be three really tough ones, and it turned out to be a cakewalk to begin the season.

You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small.

by Brandon Worley on Apr 15, 2008 2:08 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Great points, Brandon

And that's true.  What's on paper -- and what happened last season -- usually doesn't apply to the following year.

This is one of those deals that I do this every off season.  Kind of a superstitious thing.

If I expect doom and gloom and a lesser-than-expected finish, chances are good that our Beloved Boyz will surpass that.

Like the 07-08 season for example.  I predicted 9-7, and we finished 13-3.

See, it worked.

So I think I'll stick with what works.

Kind of like if we're killin' a team, and every time I watch the game, the opponent scores... I'll turn off the TV because I don't wanna jinx the team.

I'm just weird like that.

Anyhoo...

Go Cowboys!!!

12-4 Silverblue

Don't forget, the Cowboys will be a better team this season barring any unforseen injuries.

Remember last year

3 NFC east games in a row then the jets 4 days after that then the packers 7 days after that. Weeks 9-13 last year was brutal and Dallas came out on top. If they can get through that then just add a year of growing up and some missing pieces and itll be a good year.

The last game at Texas Staium...

...is against the Ravens? How you gonna close out one of the most storied stadiums in NFL history with Baltimore? You mean to tell me they couldn't have switched those last two home games and let us close out the place with a bitter division rival?

I have no idea if Texas Staium is closing, but I meant to say Stadium.

October

October looks to be the only easy month.  The 'boys need to go 3-1 or 4-0 that month.  It's a tough schedule (almost as tough as Pittsburgh's) but Dallas can still go 12-4 or 11-5 this year.

I don't think its anywhere near as tough

as Pittsburgh's schedule, their schedule is beyond brutal, they play every good team in the league.

11-5

Umm, check back with me after the season about this one.

by goodjobtimmyheresabluestar on Apr 15, 2008 4:21 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

fade

You are forgetting their predictable late season fade.  The last 6 weeks are against tough teams and until the Cowboys finish the season strong, we have to assume they will fade down the stretch.  I'm hoping they won't, but the facts say otherwise.

I was actually trying to factor that in when I said 11-5.  Let's hope the December swoon is a thing of the past.

This schedule looks better than last years

No 3 straight away games, no west coast games (unless you want to count AZ), later bye week this year. I like it. Plus only one NFL Newtork game, yes!

T-New, shutting down WR's for Dallas since 2003.

Anyone see NE's schedule?

What a complete joke.  If they don't win at least 13 games, they should be ashamed.

Here it is:

2 Sun, Sep 14 at NY Jets 4:15 PM
3 Sun, Sep 21 Miami 1:00 PM
5 Sun, Oct 5 at San Francisco 4:15 PM
6 Sun, Oct 12 at San Diego 8:15 PM
7 Mon, Oct 20 Denver 8:30 PM
8 Sun, Oct 26 St. Louis 1:00 PM
9 Sun, Nov 2 at Indianapolis 8:15 PM
10 Sun, Nov 9 Buffalo 1:00 PM
11 Thu, Nov 13 NY Jets 8:15 PM
12 Sun, Nov 23 at Miami 1:00 PM
13 Sun, Nov 30 Pittsburgh 4:15 PM
14 Sun, Dec 7 at Seattle 8:15 PM
15 Sun, Dec 14 at Oakland 4:15 PM
16 Sun, Dec 21 Arizona 1:00 PM

I see only a few tough games on there:  weeks 6, 9, 13, and 14.  The rich get richer.

Thanksgiving

I'm really excited to play Seattle on Thanksgiving. Finally, a team that's not in the basement to bore the rest of my family during dinner. Plus, revenge against those Seachickens has been avoided since Parcells's last game. Playing against Julius will also be an added story to the game.

That #38 sure can hit!

Damn..

At least the way is looks now. There wont be any room for another December sleepwalk. They better be up for all those games down the stretch.

We also have a chance to stomp on the Browns for messing up our draft pick this year.  ;-)
