BTB migration...get ready for 2.0

The time has finally come. No, not the draft, that’s still a week away. The time has come for BTB to migrate over to the new SB Nation platform. That’s right, sometime on Monday, BTB will have a new look and some new features. If you want to see a preview, visit any one of our baseball blogs. I’ll plug a link for our Texas brethren, Lone Star Ball and Mavs Moneyball. On Monday BTB will look like that.

"There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction" – Winston Churchill

Well, we think this change is in the right direction. We’ve added a sports service that will supply the blog with stats, rosters, game schedules and a lot of other things about all the major sports teams. We’ve also changed the name Diary to FanPost. Yes, that makes me happy, I never like the "diary" name. We’ve added something new that some of you will surely like, FanShots. These are for quick post items where you don’t want to take the time to write out a full diary...err...FanPost, but just want to post a link, a picture, a video or something with little commentary. So when you have something to say that takes a little time, create a FanPost, if you’re short on time or just want to pass something along, create a FanShot. It will all be clear once we get rolling on Monday.

On Monday, all you have to do when you see the new layout is log-in to claim your current account. Now, sometimes things can go wrong, so don’t panic if you can’t get your account right away. If you run into issues you can email me and I will try to get them worked out. You can also claim your accounts on other blogs if you have them.

This is an exciting move for the blog. Once we get past the "newness" factor and get settled in, I think we’ll like it much better than the current format. Maybe not everybody, but I think most of you will. The baseball blogs have gotten a lot of favorable reaction.

I’ll post more on this before Monday.

While I’m talking about overall blog news, I’d like to mention the rising hostility of a few posters lately. Remain calm guys, just because someone doesn’t like your draft pick or your player, it’s no reason to lose your cool. I’d hate to step in and take action.

So that’s all the news fit to print. Our little blog is growing up. A fancy new look with bells and whistles and everything. Hope you guys like it!

HAHAHAHAHAHAAA. . .Just teasing Grizz.  I agree, we all clearly love our Boyz and are passionate about our perspectives, but 'Can't we all just get along?'

nice going Grizz

Thanks for continually improving the site.  You work hard at making us all appreciate the team , and more importantly feel like we all know you.

I'm lookin forward to the change

My only gripe would be the page width. It means more scrolling while reading.

On the left-hand side

they have a control for narrow or wide view. I use the wide view, I like it much better.

Hey grizz

That was all 99 percent my fault man, I apologize.  I kind of let me frustrations get to me, it's all a matter of opinions when it comes to stuff like this.  I apologize to everyone else too.

Sweet!

Now I'll just have to remember to actually visit the site instead of using Google RSS Reader to notice the changes :P

There are two Adrian Petersons, but there is only one Marion Barber.

Are we going to be receiving a free tutorial from Video Professor(TM) when the new layout goes live?

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
