Rumor: Roy Williams Cowboys Safety

Cowboys | Team reviewing R. Williams' future with team

John Murphy, of Yahoo Sports, reports the Dallas Cowboys are continuing to review possible ways to include SS Roy Williams in their future plans or possibly make one of several moves with him. If the Cowboys were to trade for Tennessee Titans CB Pacman Jones or draft a cornerback in the first round, they could shift CB Anthony Henry to safety. The Cowboys could then ask Williams to transition up to linebacker, take a pay cut to remain with the team or possibly be released on or before June 1.

I would be overjoyed
if we traded him. I think Roy is a liability. I also think that he still would have some serious value since he keeps making the Pro Bowl. Obviously other players and coaches think he's pretty good.
Maybe we trade one Roy Williams for another... That would be a first!!! hahahaha
This is just some writer
Looking at a plethora of possible scenarios, claim some "sources", and then pass it off as a story.
Of course, every single one of those situations could happen, but I seriously doubt the Cowboys move Henry to safety full time, even if they do get Pacman. Moving Henry would put the Cowboys right back where they started: with only two corners. Now the Cowboys could definitely put in some packages where Roy moves up and Henry plays safety, but why would you when Watkins can step in.
Let's just wait and see what happens.
You know
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense for Roy to transition to a middle linebacker. Not with this team because we're stacked at the position, but his body and play style seem perfectly molded for it. If he put on 25-30 pounds (not a small task, but doable) I think he'd be a very usable player there.

Halleluia
I've been saying for years that Roy should move to inside linebacker. I'd given up hope that he would move there permanently since Zach Thomas was signed but maybe they would still do it.
