great pick
I love Mendenhall, but Jones is the perfect compliment to MB3. Jerry must think he can get MB3 resigned.
My thoughts exactly.
I like Jones but this was a reach.
For those of you saying Jerry's Arkansas ties clouded his judgement:
F. Jones is the first Ark player drafted by the cowboys since Jerry took over.
Terrible pick
You could’ve gotten him at 28. Obviously there’s gotta be something we don’t know about Mendenhall since he’s free-falling, but you’ve gotta go Jenkins then Jones if you don’t want Mendenhall
It would be a great pick
If the other choices were unavailable

Jones is a lil faster
than Barber but he’s not a major burner based on his 40 which was in the mid 4.4’s.
I just don’t know.
i wanted felix jones...
but i also wanted mendenhall….and it sucks that pittsburgh gets ANOTHER good runner….bittersweet moment, i guess….but we improved as a squad…that’s all i’m looking for…
true
silver lining is that felix fits well here as a backup and punt returner.
...But that was poor draft management.

change of pace back at 22
another blunder by Our GM
Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.
i am warming to the pick...
it makes sense as a compliment to MBIII … and we can still get a quality CB in this draft
Cowboys and Tar Heels
lol
we get rid of julius jones.
now we’ve got pacman jones
and felix jones
i wish my name was jones
My popcorn's ready!
Mendenhall was only good for 1 year, Felix for 3 years
and he doesn’t have the wear and tear on his body like every other runningback coming out of college. Good Pick. Not GREAT, because he could have slid to 28
Please let Jenkins be there at 28

Man,
I really wanted Mendenhall. The guy fell right into our laps and is not a change-of-pace back, he is a franchise back. I would have loved this pick if Mendenhall hadn’t been on the board, I would have chosen Jenkins well ahead of Jones as well. Jones could probably be available at #28.
Tennessee's pick just made Jerry Jones look like a Genius
I guess Jones and Mendenhall wouldn’t have slid to 28
+1
At least I know Jerry had a reason to take him at 22 vs. 28. If Jenkins falls or we trade up to get him, I’m at peace.

see
two RB’s go right in a row. maybe the cowboys knew that if they didn’t take jones, they weren’t going to get him at 28
Rare Gnats Sex
Chris Johnson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
in the first round, what are some of these teams thinking
Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.
I can understand that
IMO I would rather have Jenkins but I like Cason alot as well. I was shocked when I saw in SI this weekend they had Jenkins as the #1 corner.
That's actually a great pick
Vince Young and Johnson can run a Razorback offense

They already took
a fast back last year.
And the secret sources in Cincinnati get the last laugh....
they have too many young RBs
lendale white, they drafted speedy chris henry last year, now johnson???? REEACCCH
Gimme that "WOW" factor Jerry
Trying to understand.
Basically, this is Jerry Jones saying, yes MBIII, will resign you. If they had taken Mendenhall, they have a guy who can be a number 1 RB. Honestly, that’s what I would have done.
However, this isn’t the end of the world. Jerry is basically just saying, we want to have a guy with speed back there. Johnson had the higher upside for that position, but Felix was the safer bet. I’m okay with this.
Please trade for Roy Williams. I’m beggin you Jerry. Any past wrongs will be forgiven/forgotten!
Mike Mayock is a beast
says Jones is better fit for us than rm, Yep, he’s absolutely right.
just got ownaged
don't mind jones, but wish he was the pick at 28
hope they can still get a desirable cb when their turn comes again.
San Diego
will choose Jenkins, stop getting all excited.

The other CBs
Are supposedly a tier below

he's a top tier corner, better than Cromartie IMO
Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.
Vince Young is DOOMED...
That’s an absolutely awful pick.
san diego will trade in front of houston to get a full back…
"I guess I'm gonna fade into Bolivian." Mike tyson.
keep dreaming

Houston will take Jenkins
They are fools not to.
I can’t believe Jerry did that. What happened to pretending we don’t have Pacman. I’m bummed about that wasted opportunity. I like Felix, but CB was the bigger need and one of the top guys was there.

Dallas trade, take jenkins

no, we give up the 28 a fifth and a seventh pick

a 5th and a 7th!!!
that’s it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love Jenkins pick

receiver in the second round????
Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.
While I still would rather have Mendenhall
I think our 2 draft picks were better than the majority of what most mock drafts had us taking. This has been a damn good first round.
We've got 3 amazing Kick Returners
Felix Jones, Pacman Jones, Mike Jenkins
i dont think jenkins will enter the return picture
with felix and pacman being elite returners
Gimme that "WOW" factor Jerry
That makes the first round a success...
Getting Jenkins anyways makes Jones at 22 look a lot better…
I don’t think that we need a receiver, I think that we can move into a best-player-available mode now
I hate to say it...
But say goodbye to Roy after this year. Henry to FS, Hamlin resigned at SS, and Newman/Pacman/Jenkins at CB.
Jenkins is better
And he’s higher on most draft boards, much better value. I’m just happy we got a CB in the 1st.

Jerry you magnificent bastard!
I should not have doubt you. I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

Miami trades L. Booker to
Philly for a 4th.
Huh, Booker, was a 2nd rder last year.
I guess Bill wasn’t a fan and wanted to get his 4th back he gave to us yesterday.
Disappointed at first
Must admit that I wanted Mendenhall for the value pick. But what good is draft value if Felix ends up being a better NFL player. KR and RB. Fills 2 needs.
That #38 sure can hit!
#22,25 &61
I wanted Mendenhall before the draft even started. But I can’t argue with the logic of taking
Felix. Plus he played in the SEC. I’ve only seen Jenkins play 3or 4 times so can’t really evaluate him. Well Martellus wears a STAR now, so I can forgive him for time spent in College Station. Was’nt to impressed with his game either.
1st day grade B+
