Jenkins

will go to San Diego…

Sucks. Sucks. Sucks.

Mendenhall > Felix

by N41D on Apr 26, 2008 4:42 PM CDT   0 recs

great pick

I love Mendenhall, but Jones is the perfect compliment to MB3. Jerry must think he can get MB3 resigned.

by Boyzfan94 on Apr 26, 2008 6:30 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I think Jones will be awesome

I just don’t get why we picked him at 22.

by grapejoos on Apr 26, 2008 4:42 PM CDT   0 recs

My thoughts exactly.

I like Jones but this was a reach.

by ajspop on Apr 26, 2008 4:44 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I like it

Great pick

Cowboys fan since 1978.. I was 3 years old

by Mullin on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

I agree!

Is it training camp yet?

by 700 Level on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

Speed and the Beast

I like mendenhall, but, I’ll take Jones. Jenkins will be there at 28

by TeamStrike on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

For those of you saying Jerry's Arkansas ties clouded his judgement:

F. Jones is the first Ark player drafted by the cowboys since Jerry took over.

by Brandon W on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

sweetness

JJ is back baby, great stuff

just got ownaged

by Longhorn on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

Terrible pick

You could’ve gotten him at 28. Obviously there’s gotta be something we don’t know about Mendenhall since he’s free-falling, but you’ve gotta go Jenkins then Jones if you don’t want Mendenhall

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 26, 2008 4:43 PM CDT   0 recs

It would be a great pick

If the other choices were unavailable

by accidental innuendo on Apr 26, 2008 4:44 PM CDT   0 recs

wow pitt took mendenhall

by Zak on Apr 26, 2008 4:44 PM CDT   0 recs

Maybe Jones thought

Mendenhall is too much like MB3 and he really wants the thunder and lightening.

by Billito on Apr 26, 2008 4:44 PM CDT   0 recs

Jones is a lil faster

than Barber but he’s not a major burner based on his 40 which was in the mid 4.4’s.

I just don’t know.

by ajspop on Apr 26, 2008 4:46 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Didn't Mendenhall

run a faster time anyway?

Bourn to Run!

by jsams on Apr 26, 2008 4:55 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

He sure did.

by just a smidge.

by ajspop on Apr 26, 2008 4:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

I remember they were in the same area

Mendenhall may have beat him by a little

by Romo9 on Apr 26, 2008 4:56 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

tenn will take devin thomas

by Zak on Apr 26, 2008 4:45 PM CDT   0 recs

Jones

will compliment MB3 phenomenally

Jerry just gave Pittsburgh the SB

unbelievable!

by Terry on Apr 26, 2008 4:45 PM CDT   0 recs

i wanted felix jones...

but i also wanted mendenhall….and it sucks that pittsburgh gets ANOTHER good runner….bittersweet moment, i guess….but we improved as a squad…that’s all i’m looking for…

by Tuna Helper on Apr 26, 2008 4:45 PM CDT   0 recs

true

silver lining is that felix fits well here as a backup and punt returner.

...But that was poor draft management.

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 26, 2008 4:47 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

If jenkins is available

Then the Jones pick was a great one.

by Brandon W on Apr 26, 2008 4:46 PM CDT   0 recs

i am warming to the pick...

it makes sense as a compliment to MBIII … and we can still get a quality CB in this draft

Mendenhall was only good for 1 year, Felix for 3 years

and he doesn’t have the wear and tear on his body like every other runningback coming out of college. Good Pick. Not GREAT, because he could have slid to 28

by calebsmith on Apr 26, 2008 4:49 PM CDT   0 recs

Please let Jenkins be there at 28

TEN??

Cowboys fan since 1978.. I was 3 years old

by Mullin on Apr 26, 2008 4:51 PM CDT   0 recs

If our pick was bad

This one was horrible! This guy is a burner but a 2nd round talent easily.

by Billito on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Man,

I really wanted Mendenhall. The guy fell right into our laps and is not a change-of-pace back, he is a franchise back. I would have loved this pick if Mendenhall hadn’t been on the board, I would have chosen Jenkins well ahead of Jones as well. Jones could probably be available at #28.

by Romo9 on Apr 26, 2008 4:51 PM CDT   0 recs

I’ll bet that tenn gets manningham or something like that in later rounds

by Zak on Apr 26, 2008 4:51 PM CDT   0 recs

wow, what a reach!

by Terry on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT   0 recs

Chris Brown

Lendale White, and another back that I can’t remember. Makes no sense.

by sprite on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT   0 recs

Tennessee's pick just made Jerry Jones look like a Genius

I guess Jones and Mendenhall wouldn’t have slid to 28

by calebsmith on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT   0 recs

+1

At least I know Jerry had a reason to take him at 22 vs. 28. If Jenkins falls or we trade up to get him, I’m at peace.

by MeanMr.Mustard on Apr 26, 2008 4:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

we will get a quality CB at 28...

this is working out VERY WELL for us

two RB’s go right in a row. maybe the cowboys knew that if they didn’t take jones, they weren’t going to get him at 28

Trade up a few spots to get ahead of Houston and draft Jonathan Stewart, thee best all around Back in the draft.

by Deke on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT   0 recs

We need to get ahead of Houston

if we want to get Jenkins.

by Romo9 on Apr 26, 2008 4:52 PM CDT   0 recs

I can understand that

IMO I would rather have Jenkins but I like Cason alot as well. I was shocked when I saw in SI this weekend they had Jenkins as the #1 corner.

by Romo9 on Apr 26, 2008 4:54 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

That's actually a great pick

Vince Young and Johnson can run a Razorback offense

a fast back last year.

"I guess I'm gonna fade into Bolivian." Mike tyson.

by hashishkabob on Apr 26, 2008 4:53 PM CDT   0 recs

Trying to understand.

Basically, this is Jerry Jones saying, yes MBIII, will resign you. If they had taken Mendenhall, they have a guy who can be a number 1 RB. Honestly, that’s what I would have done.

However, this isn’t the end of the world. Jerry is basically just saying, we want to have a guy with speed back there. Johnson had the higher upside for that position, but Felix was the safer bet. I’m okay with this.

Please trade for Roy Williams. I’m beggin you Jerry. Any past wrongs will be forgiven/forgotten!

Tennessee takes Chris Johnson

Still think Felix Jones would have been there at 28?

by mhuff13 on Apr 26, 2008 4:53 PM CDT   0 recs

don't mind jones, but wish he was the pick at 28

hope they can still get a desirable cb when their turn comes again.

San Diego

will choose Jenkins, stop getting all excited.
