2 CB's gone
Branch and King both gone. I think we should have taken one of those instead of trading the pick at 100.
Someone posted that players drafted here will have a hard time
to make the team… I agree. I am hoping for a safety…. then trade into next year
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
No pick in the 3rd. . .hmmmmm
Bum's Boy Boyz
Why not move down couple picks
And pick up a 7th if you know your guy is gonna be there.
our CB's are already here ????? HELLO .....Adam Jones and Mike Jenkins ...HELLO ???
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
We just added two CBs
adding a 6th or 7th corner shouldnt really be a priority
moseley
“The Raiders moved up to take Connecticut cornerback Tyvon Branch at No. 100. That’s a player the Cowboys liked, so it’s a little surprising that they moved out of the pick.”
just got ownaged
My thoughts exactly
I really wanted Branch. Jerry is starting to get too cute again.

at this point, we could probably waive those picks in front of the iggles for lito sheppard, too bad we don’t really have much more of a need at DB
I think we do
Giants and Skins stocked up on WR’s and we don’t even know if Pacman will play this year or if he will be back to top form after missing a year.
We need another CB
by Philosopher on Apr 27, 2008 10:57 AM CDT up reply actions
Oh yeah
But the Iggles will never let him come to us.
I would love to have Sheppard!
by Philosopher on Apr 27, 2008 11:00 AM CDT up reply actions
Curious to see if the 111 is really on the board
It is contingent upon the PacMan trade being approved, no?
Bum's Boy Boyz
i dont think so
I think the pacman pick was 126 and it shows that it has gone to Tennessee. So the trade must be done.
Theyre just saying that as soon as Tenn put their pick in
The Cowboys immediately put their pick in

Players
still players available. We made some great trades. time to stock pile depth. Safety, OL, CB, WR any of the 4 in the next 2 picks.
how behind is the espn coverage on this?
Romo.. Witten.. Barber.. Owens.... First we had triplets.. Now we got quadruplets!!
WHO ARE these douche bags reporting on ESPN ??.....some dumb braod....

Norm reporting
That Dallas initially told the desk in New York to write down Mike Jenkins at #22. Then at the last second they got word that Houston was going to take Felix Jones and hurredly told the desk to erase Jenkins and put in Jones.

Same here
They must really like Stanbach, cuz they just passed on Caldwell and Franklin.
by ChrisRichey on Apr 27, 2008 11:06 AM CDT up reply actions
They do like Stanbach and you will too

Jerry has gotten back all the picks he traded away for the Pacman and Jenkins trade

Killing Jerry
ESPN is killing Jerry over taking a guy who averaged 7.7 yds per carry for his career.. LOL. yds per carry is yds per carry to me.. You can say he is back up material, I just think he is a beast..
agree
This stuff about mendenhall being the second coming is a little premature. Steve Slaton looked like a top 10 pick during his junior year (running a similar offense), and you see what happened to him later. I think the jury is still out on mendenhall.
I don't mind this so much
There isn’t anyone I am all that desperate to have, although I think we should have taken Justin King at #100.
DEF shoulda taken king
Romo.. Witten.. Barber.. Owens.... First we had triplets.. Now we got quadruplets!!
can some1 explain where we stand with picks
after all those trades.. because the espn coverage is terrible
Romo.. Witten.. Barber.. Owens.... First we had triplets.. Now we got quadruplets!!
I love it so far...but if he trades at #111...I'm gonna snap....
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Agree.
I’d rather have Moore than Bryant.

I am bummin we lost Franklin...he will turn into a good one...count on it..
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
I wonder if they are picking up picks
so they can get Tommy Blake from TCU. A first round guy last year with some problems.
No risk, big reward?
Lots of discussion in the War Room Cam
Jerry standing and pointing
Bum's Boy Boyz
Miami trading up to get Dre Moore!!!!! NOOOOOOOO!!!
Bum's Boy Boyz
+1 Longhorn...Bill still trying to make up for all his idiotic OL picks over the years...
he’s the next Jumbo Elliot…..lol…
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Franklin and McGlynn would have been good pick ups...damn it
Kansas City will be a dominant team in a few years…..pending Croyles developement…

Trade!
I live and die with the Dallas Cowboys
what is going on right now
Romo.. Witten.. Barber.. Owens.... First we had triplets.. Now we got quadruplets!!
This is awesome
Jerry is stocking them up

I just woke up

Bourn to Run!

3rd next year…...GENIUS

wow......nice pick up.. I love Rucker....him and Winslow...nice combo..
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Yeah..
I’m glad we’ll be playing the at the beginning of the year before they get a chance to get him worked in.

Trade for RW#11
Lions: ” You get 10picks to trade to use hes yours (Laughing)”
JJ: ” You are on(not laughing)”
Its my Money, And I want it NOW!
And... Cleveland will settle back to it's 4 - win regular self...
So closer to a 2nd round?
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
This sucks
I guess they don’t want Red Bryant, what the hell is Jerry doing
T-New, shutting down WR's for Dallas since 2003
I think we take most of the rest of the picks...
I just think Jerry sees this range as a reach…
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
I'm starting to think Jerry
doesn’t want any part of the rest of this draft. I think the next pick will be a DT/NT whenever that happens. Okam??
Straight up trade a 4th rounder for a 3rd
Only on draft day.
by Brandon Worley on Apr 27, 2008 11:27 AM CDT reply actions
When's our next pick ???...I lost friggin track of all this comedy...
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Dallas is going to make this trade
two seconds, three thirds, a fifth, a seventh and 2011 first for Ocho Cinco.
by Brandon Worley on Apr 27, 2008 11:29 AM CDT reply actions
As far ahead as you want
But what team would take a first round draft pick in four years when you are trading a player that helps the other team now.
by Brandon Worley on Apr 27, 2008 11:31 AM CDT up reply actions
I still LOVE what he's doing though......we still have plenty to choose from....
IF THEY EVER DECIDE TO PICK SOMEONE…
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Radio
Suggest next years 1, 3 & 4 for a starting WR
I live and die with the Dallas Cowboys
we already picked up an additional 3rd and 4th next year
by trading down. Jerry is the king of trading down
interesting...
a low 4th this year for Cleveland’s 3rd next year… are there metrics on trading year-to-year?
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
Not Really
Some people claim there’s a discount factor that applies, sort of a time value of money thing, like a third rounder this year is worth a second next year. But in reality, a third rounder is probably worth a third rounder next year, and the year after…
The really good teams take advantage of others who fall in love with players in a given year, and have them overpay for the next year.
I think it's safe to say we are not drafting a WR this year
I think D-line and O-line will be addressed. here on out. Maybe another RB
Arman Sheilds is a great WR prospect......i'm just sayin....if we go that route....
Was top 10 at the combine in EVERY event…..only WR to do so…..best sleeper WR left available.
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Yeah, Really!!!!
Ratliff sucks in the middle.
Do you guys watch the same team that I live for?

They can move him to DE if they get a solid NT
That’s why I want Bryant

by APerfectStar on Apr 27, 2008 11:52 AM CDT up reply actions
Bryant does have BIG question marks.,..has no motor...
hot and cold ….boom or bust kinda guy…...but would be welcomed in a rotation with Tank Johnson…....a run stuffin’ monster he is…
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
I was going to get outside after pick #100....
Now I feel like I can blame the entire afternoon on Jerry
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
I am pretty sure Jerry would have taken Moore at #122....we keep coming up just short of the BPA for our team...
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
Interesting Little Micro-Runs on Positions
In the fourth:
Back to back DEs with 102 and 103,
Back to back WRs with 105 and 106,
Back to back Cs with 107 and 108,
Three tackles in four picks between 109 to 112,
Back to back CBs with 113 and 114,
Back to back DLs with 115 and 116.
this is interesting...
i am sure it makes teams nervous if they have 3-4 guys targeted for a given position
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
He doesn't suck
But he has a bad injury history

Is it me.....our does Tre Wingo look like a bird ???? ...quite the fitting name "Wingo"

Lets wait till later for RB depth
so many good RB backups are later in the draft, just look at Bradshaw last year for the Giants. Lets wait a while and get Tony Temple in the sixth or seventh.
I think you will see us take another RB... maybe not with this pick
Tar Heels football will surprise this year
Jerry has turned 3 picks at the beginning of the day
2008 Third round pick - 92nd overall
2008 Fourth round pick - 100th overall (from Miami)
2008 Sixth round pick—167th overall (from Miami)
into six picks through trades!
2008 Fourth round pick - 122nd overall (from Cleveland)
2008 Fifth round pick - 155th overall (from Cleveland)
2008 Sixth round pick - 167th overall (from Miami)
2008 Seventh round pick - 213rd overall (from Oakland)
2009 Third round pick (from Cleveland)
2009 Fourth round pick (from Detroit)

We should
draft John David Booty as a backup, he would be perfect as a backup..
And the secret sources in Cincinnati get the last laugh....
We've traded five times with Cleveland in the last two years. . .
Let’s get more of their picks next year!

RB?
Tashard Choice/ Allen Patrick still available?
That #38 sure can hit!
by Aaron Novinger on Apr 27, 2008 11:56 AM CDT reply actions
Bryan Kehl, Orlando Scandrick or Tashard Choice
If we finally pick
Bum's Boy Boyz
I like Kehl and Scandrick.....Dallas wouldn't draft Choice....
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
disagree. . .good pick at this point
Strengths:
Natural runner with excellent instincts…Terrific vision…Hits the hole hard..Is tough and aggressive…Adequate blocker…Good hands and can catch the ball out of the backfield…Nice balance…Hard worker and leader with top intangibles…Productive.
Weaknesses:
Timed speed is just average…Not very elusive and doesn’t have much wiggle…He doesn’t run with a lot of power and lacks strength…Is not a big play threat…Might run too physical for his own good…Durability is a concern..Upside could be limited.
Notes:
Began his college career at Oklahoma where he redshirted in ‘03 and then backed up Adrian Peterson in ‘04…Was granted a transfer waiver by the NCAA and didn’t have to sit out a year due to extenuating family circumstances…He led the ACC in rushing as a junior…Does everything well but nothing great..It wouldn’t be a total shock if he ended up being a starter but he probably profiles as more of a backup.

true....I know we need a 3rd RB......but please.....we also need a 2nd FB, NT, OG, SS.....
NOT at all on board with that pick…......BUT…..it was a really good “value” pick…...He was rated mid third round guy for me…
