Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Chris Henry is wanted for assault.

With all of the talk about the possible Pacman trade, I found this to be a sobering article.  Chris Henry and Pacman were teammates at WVU, and have been poster boys for bad behavior in the NFL.  Even after his suspension, and even with all of his talent, Henry just can't stay out of trouble.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/s...

I think this is important to the Cowboys and Titans, as it highlights the potential problems with Jones.  I think it helps the Cowboys as far as asking price, since they can point to Henry and say that Pacman is too risky to offer more than a 2008 late round pick.  However, it also underlines that A.) He might not even get his suspension lifted any time soon, and B.) This guy is as big a gamble as there is.

I still hope we get Pacman and think that the Henry news will help, but I also hope JJ is smart enough to still take a CB in the first round.

Pacman mess getting messier

and to think Pacman is worse than Henry

so this so just proves that Pacman will certainly screw up again if reinstated. If Henry's suspension didn't deter him from messing up again, it sure as hell isn't going to deter Pacman.

I think Goodell should just ban these two idiots from the league once and for all, its obvious that neither one will change.

It only proves on thing
Henry is an idiot, says nothing about how Pacman will do.

they are cut from the same cloth

and were buddies at WVU. As far as character is concerned I think Pacman has proven his character is far worse than Henry's.

Give me a break

Pacman has done plenty to deserve criticism, and they were on the same college team.  You can say Pacman will screw up again based on what he, Pacman, has done, and you've done so in every single diary on the subject.  But this has absolutely no bearing on whether or not Pacman will screw up again, it's just (re-re-re-)confirmation that Chris Henry is an idiot.

Agreed

It doesn't prove anything about Pacman. All it proves is that Chris Henry is stupid. Pacman doesn't need someone else to prove that he stupid for him.

Terry is just trying to set himself up

for a big "I told ya so". The day Pacman screws up Terry will do a happy dance, bask in the glory of "calling it" and then find another cause to champion.

Just messin with ya Terry. Seriously though even though they are both from WV and they are both half retarded stellar athletes with anger issues Chris Henry blowing it does not mean Pacman will do the same. It could be argued that after Goodell suspends Henry from the league for forever it might click with Pacman. He might get it because he sees that his boy ain't collecting the paycheck anymore and won't see the field again.

Haha, well put Groves.

That's the best way of putting it.  None of us know if positive incentives will work with Pacman, but seeing what is likely the definitive end of his buddy's career might help reinforce the point.

Bengals cut Henry

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/s...

And here's something we can probably all agree on:  this guy is way too dumb, and not nearly good enough, to warrant another chance in the NFL.  Troubled times in Cincy now with Henry gone and Chad off the reservation...

I think they know

he is going to be suspended for one season. What a knucklehead.

Me loves some PacMan!!!!

No surprise.

I just hope Jerry doesn't try to sign him

and think he can reform this knucklehead as well.

Knowbody is signing him Terry

The league is going to suspended him for one year. Remember he was suspended for 8 games last season. This kid is another Byrant. All the talent and no brains!!

I doubt it

Chris Henry's a good receiver, but he's not great. Not worth going after.

Correct

Make no mistake, nobody in the NFL, nor any Cowboys fans (myself included) would be willing to take the risk on Pacman staying out of trouble if he weren't (1) a really good CB and (2) an all-pro level return guy, and if (3) the Cowboys didn't desperately need help at both positions or (4) the Cowboys had the cap room to dramatically improve those positions in a less risky manner.

Yup.

If he does then wouldn't you agree
the biggest problem with the team is the owner?

by Taylor on Apr 3, 2008 2:20 PM CDT up reply actions

I personally don't see any difference

between Jerry signing Pacman or Henry. Both players have immense talent, that fill big need area on our team, but are huge, tremendous risks.

Only difference is that Henry is on his way to being suspended again while Pacman could potentially be reinstated.

by Terry on Apr 3, 2008 3:20 PM CDT up reply actions

I see a difference

Actually 2 differences

  1. Chris Henry is a nobody, a 3rd WR, who is a dime a dozen in the NFL. Pacman, for all the crap he does off-field, at least has potential to be a shutdown CB and top notch returner. Pacman gets the nod here.
  1. Pacman is about to be reinstated, Henry is about to be suspended indefinitely. Again, Pacman gets the nod.

I don't see how this affects the Pacman to Dallas soap opera in the least. All it shows is that Henry is a complete moron, who will probably end up in jail in the near future.

For the record, I don't care one way or the other anymore if Pacman comes to Dallas. As long as Dallas gets him cheap, and drafts a couple CB's anyway to cover all their bases.

thats not true Tom, Henry has just as much talent

as Pacman. To say he's a nobody 3rd WR means you don't watch the Bengals play or follow the league that well because Henry would be a star WR on 95% of the teams in the league. He just happens to have played on a team with 2 superstar WRs.

Agreed

Henry would have been a 1st round pick 3 years ago but for his War and Peace like rap sheet.

Impatient, did you hear what the judge said

during his arraignment? He said Henry is like a one man crime wave. LOL!!! Sounds like another WVU alum we know.

Yeah I know

and if that certain someone screws up here, then we can cut him just as fast ans the Bungles did. As long as we dont rely on him, we will be just fine.

by Impatient on Apr 4, 2008 1:12 PM CDT up reply actions

thats the key, we can't allow Pacman

to have an intergal part of the defense.

by Terry on Apr 4, 2008 1:35 PM CDT up reply actions

You are crazy

He is playing on a team with Chad Johnson and TJ Whosyourmama, they demand all the coverage. He's not all that, and certainly not near Pacman talent. He doesn't do anything but flash talent here and there.

I would never want him on the Cowboys...
I would never want Henry on the Cowboys, and I am a WVU alum.  If it were based purely on talent, however, I'd take him over Patrick Crayton in a heartbeat.  It's sad to think about how good he could have been if he stayed out of trouble and didn't keep missing camp and playing time due to being a knucklehead.
