Now this is a mock draft I love
Sam Farmer of the L.A. Times pened a mock draft and he has the Cowboys taking two of my favorite players in the draft that I would be thrilled to get if we actually selected them.

- Dallas - Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois - The Cowboys could use some help at cornerback and receiver too, but this is a team with precious few backs.
- Dallas - Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona - Cason was not only a shut-down corner in college, but he was All-Pac-10 as a punt returner.
If we actually selected these 2 guys I'd be doing cartwheels in my down my street.
Mendenhall, in my opinion, is the best back in the draft and teamed with MB3 would form an awesome running attack.
Cason, in my opinion, is the most seasoned CB in the draft to come right in and play right away. Very underrated CB plus he's a punt returner as well.

I could live with those two picks
especially Cason, he's better suited to come in and start right off out of all the corners in this draft, although I think/hope its going to be Johnathan Stewart and the real Roy Williams via first round trade with detroit.

Looks to me like a dream scenario
Mendenhall's simply too good a prospect to get out of the top twenty. Could it happen? I guess so. The chances aren't very good, though.
I'd agree with Cason at 28. It especially makes sense if we don't get The Cornerback Formerly Known As PacMan, because we'd need a player who's ready to step in right away. If we do wind up with aforementioned disgruntled cornerback, I think the perfect pick for our situation would be Reggie Smith. He's not the most NFL-ready by any stretch, but he's full of potential and probably the most versatile DB in this draft. If we do get rid of Roy and see the maturation of guys like Alan Ball, Smith could play safety; in fact, some experts say that's a position better suited to his strengths.

As much as I love it...
... I honestly cannot see Mendenhall dropping all the way to #22.
Now I could see Cason dropping to #28 -- and he's the one I've wanted ever since I watched him @ the combine. I'd be totally ecstatic if we landed Cason!!!

+1
Cason at #28 is doable, Mendenhall will be gone before #22.

Never can tell about backs...
Everyone thought Stephen Jackson and Kevin Jones would be long gone a few years back...

Stewart not even in the first round
Felix Jones is picked before him. Yup, I don't see that happening despite Stewart's injury.
On the whole, Farmer's draft scenario is unlikely though not outside the realm of possibility. Still, I'd be ecstatic if we landed Medenhall. And Cason's sounding better and better at 28.
