OT: Hardy beats up father
I remember reading somewhere that the Cowboys had interest trading up to draft Hardy in the 2nd round. Perhaps it's a good thing we didn't....
A woman called police saying Buffalo Bills rookie wide receiver James Hardy was beating up his father and had pulled a gun when she yelled for him to stop.
Fort Wayne police spokesman Michael Joyner said Tuesday no charges were filed because Hardy was gone when officers arrived and Hardy's father did not want to press charges.

scout team
The scout team got it right when they talked Jerry out of moving up and drafting this guy.. He already has previous off the field issues.

but Deke...you just posted a "FanShot" yesturday. ?
and a quoted blurb about a non Cowboy player that beats up his father and pulls a gun is surely fanshot material…..i wish people would make that distinction…...each time sombody posts a non relavent story like this, it knocks a legit Cowboy post off the viewing list.

GRIZZ
I understand you said some OT stuff is ok but this isnt even anything. He posted the link and quoted it thats it. Nothing insightful, nothing in depth, nothing but knock someones hard work write up of a real cowboys fanpost off the list.
I know im not the only who feels this way but this is cowboys blog even says it at the top Dallas Cowboys all the time I dont come here to have to filter through non cowboy related stuff. Idk maybe its just me and if i get the word from the big daddy ill stop but to me this isnt the place for this kind of stuff at the very most i think OT stuff should be a fanshot unless its something well written in depth analysis of football related or Major news. My buddy at hogs haven all the time is saying that soon this is going to be TMZ of course just joking but yeah..I know you addressed it before but i dont think some people understand. Please let me know if im just blowing this out of proportion. Thanks

Cry me a freaking river
Insightful? Do you want my opinion on domestic violence or gun control? It’s the offseason, aka dead season. I was on my way out the door at work and was merely trying to pass on some information to Cowboys fans. This was a target of the Cowboys and many people criticized them for passing on a WR for Bennett. I figured it was relevant in that sense.
I’m not trying to flood FanPosts, but like someone said, a lot of people don’t scroll down for FanShots. Sorry I got your panties in a wad.

The fact is......
I can understand why you may have included this Hardy story quote with it’s notion that there was interest in possibly moving up to get him, BUT …...It’s a “fanshot” or at least should be considered one…....I don’t care if nobody wants to take the time to scroll down to view it, it’s the part of this site’s make up….and intended for “stories” like this…...If the article get’s unoticed by some who don’t want to take time out to see what’s happening outside of Cowboy Nation…so be it…...It’s their tough luck….It takes …what ?....2 minutes to scroll down the fan shots ??....gimme a break…I’m not buying it….I’m with bigham on this….and I’m sure Grizz would like more to scroll the fan shots as well…..
Certainly not downing your attempt to offer reading material to this blog (during the dead season).....but please…..INSTEAD of clicking fanpost, click fanshot…it’s no big deal…really it’s actually easier to post it that way…..... And if Grizz has the capability to remove unwarranted fanposts, or switch them to fanshots…I wish he would utilize that power…..

Ideally, something like this would be a FanShot
I do appreciate the OT tag on it to let everybody know that it’s not directly Cowboys-related material and giving the option to skip it. But with the lack of FanPosts recently it’s hard for me to get too riled up about it. If people were posting FanPosts on a more active basis then the argument that it’s pushing off true FanPosts would hold more weight. This is my subtle way of saying let’s get some more FanPosts up. Try a player profile like Brandon does on the front page, or tell us your story of why you’re a Cowboys fan. Those are just a couple of ideas but with the number of fans we have here and the skills you guys have at writing posts, we need some more action.
I do have the ability to remove any FanPost or FanShot but I wouldn’t do it in this case or even consider it. But I don’t have the ability to move a FanPost to a FanShot. Also, c’mon guys, you can’t take the 5 seconds needed to scroll down to FanShots? That hardly seems like an obstacle.
Anyway, I would classify this as a FanShot but I’m trying to let everybody get used to things in the new 2.0 platform and hope that it will sort itself out naturally.
