Highlights: Dallas Cowboys first rounders
I've seen these highlight reels but it's sweet how they edited in the draft scenes. Man you can see what they mean by "vision" and "smooth" with Felix--the cuts he makes just leave guys grasping air.

Great video!
I can’t wait to see those guys doing that with stars on their helmets. 3 things that I really love watching the Felix Jones highlights:
He breaks tackles, unlike JJ, Bush, or other backs of his type. In those clips, he is usually shrugging off a tackle before exploding. If that translates to the NFL, that will be nice. JJ always seemed to go down on the first hit, but if you can get past that guy, the field is often wide open for the next 20 yards.
He goes from stop to full speed in 2 steps – Mendenhall may have been faster in a straight line without pads, but El Gato stops and accelerates like a Porsche. When it comes to draw plays and the like, the ability to instantly reach top speed is a key.
Guys take bad angles on him pretty often. That was what I liked best about watching Adrian Peterson last year, was that so often guys just seemed to misjudge exactly how fast he was going. Felix isn’t quite at AP’s level, but still, guys seemed to think they had the angle to only have him blow by them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up as getting the bulk of the carries in the beginning and middle of games like JJ did, with MB3 resuming his role as 3rd down, short yard, and closing back, plus the first series so he can be “the starter.”

This is the very first thing I noticed when watching El Gato
He goes from stop to full speed in 2 steps – Mendenhall may have been faster in a straight line without pads, but El Gato stops and accelerates like a Porsche. When it comes to draw plays and the like, the ability to instantly reach top speed is a key.
So true, his ability to accelerate the second he gets the ball is phenomenal. And going around the edges of the line, the inside guys always underestimated his speed and take bad angles. And about Mendenhall, this myth that he’s faster is just crazy. El Gato ran a 4.37 40-time on the Ark campus. I guarantee you he’s faster than M-Hall, don’t let one day at the combine fool you.

+1 Grizz.....I believe there were only 2-3 players out of 300+ at the combine, that had a faster 10 yard split...
IMO …the true measuring stick for backs as related to acceleration, and burst…The faster you can get past that initial defensive surge at the line, the quicker your on top of the 2nd layer of players to make cuts and blow by them altering their angles to tackle….....
Can’t wait for the delayed draw plays….DB’s 20+ yards off the line trying to come back to contain this dude….If he doesn’t average over 5.0 per carry..I’ll be stunned. If Hudson Houck could instill his methologies and run blocking schemes from the Dallas O line’s of old…..we’re going to see Jones running through gapping holes, untouched, like a blur on the screen…....I expect several 40+ yard runs from this guy…

The Cat reminds me of a bigger Dorsett
the way he can accelerate, stop on a dime, give you a nickel in change and then accelerate right past you.

+1 .Terry....which is exactly the right choice...as i made the comparison months ago....I see the same style, only bigger....
I’m sure everyone here realizes this was my pet “Cat” the whole time through, having him as our #1 pick since my December mock…....No matter what else happened with our draft….IF we made it out of this draft with Felix Jones…I was going to be one happy camper…..There have been very few players coming out of a draft through the years that I just “knew” they were going to be more than just good or special….but electrifying, mind boggling, awe inspiring, edge of your seat elite players, ( Adrian Peterson, Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, Marshall Faulk, Emmitt Smith, Randy Moss, Eric Dickerson, Larry Fitzgerald ) of course there were -plenty more I felt would be top talented pro bowlers as well…..but only a few ( like the ones mentioned ) will go down as some of the best ever at their positions…...and I’m stating right now, pending a career altering injury…Felix Jones will be mentioned with those same players mentioned above when his career is over….....count on it…

I always liked Jones too
even though most fans don’t think so since I wanted Mendenhall, however my argument there was that IMO Mednenhall is a better overall back and there is no quarantee MB3 will be re-signed long term.
However, I’ve always maintained that the Cat is just as good as McFadden, the only real difference being McFadden is a couple inches taller and 5 lbs heavier. When I watch them on tape, they look like the same player to me. The Cat will be a tremendous compliment to MB3.

Speed
Not to beat a dead horse, but I watched youtube highlights of both Felix and Mendenhall. They are both fast, but there is no doubt that Jones is faster. The other thing I love about watching Felix’s highlights is how many of them come in the big games – against Florida, LSU, etc.
