Rookie camp update

The Breerman breaks down a few of the players at today’s mini-camp. Short version: He’s lovin’ Martellus Bennett, gave a mixed-review about Jenkins’ inconsistent play, is coming around on the smooth styling’s of Felix Jones, noted Tashard Choice had a case of the dropsies but recovered later, and Jason Garrett is a jack-of-all-trades in the coaching arena.

Meanwhile, Julius Jones took a shot at the Cowboys, and fans, in an article in a Seattle paper.

"I love playing here," he said. "The atmosphere, it's 10 times better than Dallas."

And in the WTF department, Colts' WR Marvin Harrison is under suspicion in a gunfire incident.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison is under investigation in his hometown of Philadelphia in a shooting that took place earlier this week, a source close to the investigation told Anthony Gargano of Philadelphia's WIP Radio.

He's about the last guy in the NFL who I thought would get mixed up in something like this.

oh boy, Jenkins could be a bust
Jenkins rough around the edges: No one got more individual attention than first-rounder Mike Jenkins, and part of it was that he was getting beat on a fairly regular basis. You can see the athleticism, the ability to turn and run, the ability to sink his hips and explode … but it needs to be more consistently. He’d look great one play, and very, very average the next. He had real trouble catching the ball.
The “getting beat on a regular basis” gives me flashbacks of Reeves and N Jones. If UFAs are beating you on a regular basis, I cringe to see what happens when he has to cover T.O. and Glenn in camp. I knew we should have drafted Cason.

come on Terry

Its a nothing mini camp. These guys haven’t played football in over four month’s. These guys might of been given five plays to work with. All I care about with these mean Nothing mini camps is that the players dont sustain a long term injury and can show some athleticism. The field has twenty guys on offense mostly lost against twenty guys on defense mostly lost.

are you serious?

since when does being inconsistent the first day of rookie mini camp make someone a bust?

Have to agree

First day, in mini-camp, not in pads, based on one writer’s characterization, and the guys a bust? Come on.

Hey

Is there a Chicken Little Filter in this new format that lets me filter out Terry? does everything outside of your mancrush on Romo have to be doom and gloom?

Especially when that writer is A Breer.....biggest hack i've ever seen....and I AM sure he's never played a down in his life.

never said he IS a bust

I said COULD be, big difference. Still, a #1 draft pick shouldn’t be getting consistently beat by UFA WRs who will be lucky to make the team, thats all I’m saying.

"I love playing here"

True dat, Jules. It’s the ONLY place you actually gave any sign of being an NFL running back. Enjoy the piped noise. From the sideline.

No kidding

JuJo loves him some Seattle. Too bad he’s bitter about his time in Big D. But MB3 and Felix the Cat will make everyone forget him soon enough, if they haven’t already.

That is true, if you mean

JuJo was down on the ground after every carry.

He was?

The Julius I remember split time with and lost his job to Marion Barber. And got injured when he was playing every down…

I have to admit

It’s amazing how grea it feels to her abnout football actually being practiced again.

I’m sure Jenks wll come along fine. He’s an outstanding athlete but from a smaller program. He’ll benefit immensely from some intensive Campozation. Love to hear about Jason taking charge, and Bennett looking like a deadly TE. And “Smooth Felix”. I’m gonna love watching how this team starts to come to together this summer.

Breerman Liked Cason > Jenkins

Remember before the draft Breerman liked A Cason > M Jenkins. That might be altering his judgement a bit right now.

if bennett turns out as good as i've been hearing

our two TE sets will be nightmares for LB’s and safetys in coverage.. n i got high hopes for felix the cat.. could end up being one of the more productive backs to come out of this draft class.. matter of fact.. that should be a fanshot….

Romo.. Witten.. Barber.. Owens.... First we had triplets.. Now we got quadruplets!!

Marvin Harrison

He’s like the “Ultimate Quiet Man”, never would have guessed he’d be investigated for anything…

Jones

It’s interesting how he says he loves playing there in mini camp. I mean come on! He’s just bitter cause Barber took his job away from him. We won’t miss him. Felix “Jones” will fill his role perfectly.
