New Blog: The Boxing Bulletin for Boxing Fans!

Believe!

The Dallas Stars completed a 4 over time game at about 4:30 Monday morning, sending them to the Western Conference Finals. The most exciting games I've seen in my short  21 years of being a Dallas Sports fan, they've earned the support of the fans with gutsy leadership by Captain Brendan Morrow hard hitting and near flawless goaltending by Turco. If you get a chance to go to a game don't be afraid play off hockey is electric and  if you want to see some wild stats from game 6 there is a link below. Bring it Home Stars!

Why is this on the Cowboys blog?

Glad your team won, but you’re bumping down fanposts that Cowboys fans might want to read.

This fanpost are getting out of hand. People need to learn what a fanpost is versus a fanshot versus something that shouldnt even be on the dallas cowboys blog.

this blog seems very robotic already, needs some OT stuff every now and then..

just got ownaged

by robotic

i mean it’s all cowboys all the time, other blogs atleast mention other things once in a while, here it doesn’t. That’s it, nothing against the writing of the big 3, which is excellent.

Isnt that the point?

If you go onto like video game forums they mod you if go off topic. There are blogs for other things. This is a cowboys blog.

Leave the man alone, as long as it’s not spam and he’s not talking about how well the Flyers or something are doing—it doesn’t bother me.

Well good for you

Back at ya big guy

I didn’t put down anybody, just pointed out the fact that this doesn’t need to be on the Cowboys blog. If Zak wants to respond to my comment I have the right to respond back. But I don’t get how this means old Deke needs to chime in. Why don’t you go hit the Captain Morgan and don’t worry about what I post.

Then take a bit of your own advice and don’t worry about what someone else posts.

You replied to my post sport

I didn’t attack the guy, so why don’t you take some of my advice too.

Not a Cowboys or even football story

Get it off the fanposts. Go put it on a hockey blog.

I agree Tom

I mean I tought this blog was called “Blogging the Boys” not “Blogging the Stars”. Seriously, if its not Cowboys related, it shouldn’t be posted.

Oh, leave the guy alone

In a city as mired with playoff tragedy as Dallas has been, what’s wrong with taking a bit of joy in the triumph of an area team? Remember, people, part of what makes BTB- and in fact every SB Nation site- great, is the community interaction. We come to know each other, whether it be love, hate, or disdain. And if a guy wants to celebrate a Dallas team actually doing something, so be it.
Besides, we haven’t had a new fanpost since friday. :(

by BudLight on May 5, 2008 7:20 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed

Settle down people. It’s not a big deal. Most people on this site are fans of Dallas-area teams generally and there’s plenty of occasional Rangers/Mavs discussion here.

I’m not a Stars fan, but congrats to them and their fans. Beat Detroit!

by grapejoos on May 5, 2008 9:49 AM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well..

Idk about you guys but i come here to see just cowboys football news so i dont have to sift through the other sites finding the cowboy articles. I consider it spam since its not cowboy related.

I get that, but show a little patience.

Come on. It’s one click. It took less time for you to disregard this post (5 seconds?) than it did to comment on it. I understand the complaint, so perhaps it would be better in the future to denote in the heading that it’s off-topic.

by grapejoos on May 5, 2008 12:19 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ok but where does it stop..

The whole point of this blog is to talk about cowboys. I get its just one click now.. but if you allow one off topic post other people might think its ok and just start posting all kinds of off topic post. Idk i might be in the minority.

what's wong with OT posts?

It’s not like it’s in the stories by the big 3…It’s called a fanpost, a fan posts what he thinks is important…I’m sure at a dallas cowboys blogs there are a lot of stars/mavs/rangers fans here. If something good happens to one, i don’t see what’s wrong about posting something about that…

I'm a Flyer fan I could care

less about the Stars…lol

I agree, I have no problem with it. There isn’t going to be a whole lot to talk about for awhile.

Morrow = stud

this guy leaves it all on the ice – sure he scored the game winning goal but if you check out the box score – 19 hits. NINETEEN stinkin’ hits. no one else on the other team with more than 5 much less double digits. that’s a Team Captain putting in work for his squad. Hopefully there can be similar leadership by Cowboys players this year…

by Scoobay on May 5, 2008 8:37 AM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Captain

The key word. He’s beyond perfect for that role; the guy plays with unmatched tenacity and fires up all around him. He is the definition of the phrase ‘leads by example’.

suggestion

Dunno if there’s an official policy (too lazy to look one up if there is and don’t remember from the time i signed up…) – but one suggestion would be to include an “OT” label as a disclaimer for off topic posts to be fair to those who ‘wasted’ their time reading this one.

however, with so much going on in the offseason, how many other OT posts have there really been? how many people have raised such a stink about this one post? once the season starts or even TC for that matter, there won’t be any OT posts… unless the rangers decide to be good all of a sudden – yeah right.

by Scoobay on May 5, 2008 3:10 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I don't mind off-topic posts on occasion, as long as it doesn't get out of hand

I would prefer for people to use the OT designation for those kinds of posts so that readers who are here for Cowboys news only will know that the content of that post is not Cowboys related. And I would also prefer that OT’s be posted in FanShots instead of FanPosts.

But I don’t always get my way here unless I want to turn into a tyrant and I’m trying not to be that, although I still get accused of being such on occasion. I’m just trying to balance the needs of most readers which don’t always line up. I also didn’t know this blog was robotic considering how much time and effort I put in along with Brandon and Tuna Helper to make this a great place for Cowboys fans.

BTB is one of the best blogs I visit… always great links, insightful writing and lively discussion. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion… even if it’s wrong!

Cool it, people.

There’s no reason for any of us to leave teethmarks on each others’ throats. It’s a Cowboys blog and should obviously be primarily centered around the Cowboys, and anyone who rips the content available here or the lack of activity is either unfamiliar with the way things work here or not much of a Cowboys enthusiast. Yes, It’s a slow time for Cowboys talk. But right now, It’s a slow time for football talk of any kind. Try visiting the other blogs on the SB chain; I’m willing to wager that BTB stands foremost in activity.
All that being said, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of OT talk interjected about the opinions, especially this time of year. I don’t understand why people took what seemed to be actual offense to something as innocuous as a Stars post.

by BudLight on May 5, 2008 4:24 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Lovin it.

This is the most action i’ve ever had on a post, I’m quite impressed with myself.
