A couple of thoughts on the rookies
I love this kids attitude. He seems to be very humble almost to the point of quietness. You want him to talk? He'll explain everything you want to know on the field. I really do like the kids game but I have to admit it took me some time to settle into this pick @22. Reggie Bush keeps crossing my mind when talking about Felix.. I'll let you decide if that's a good or bad thing.
Before the draft he was one of the top CB's on my list (#2) and to see him fall all the way to #25 was just awesome. In my mind I was comparing him to TNEW with his speed and ability to leech onto his opponent. Rookie camp kinda jaded that comparison a little for me, but I really do think with some coaching that comparison will stick. I loved this pick.
I was a little confused at this pick at first. Tight end?? I know we just traded Fasano but I'm pretty sure we have a guy named Jason Witten who as I recall was, uhhhh, prettyy good. Then we have that other guy (Tony Curtis) who refuses to do anything but catch TD's. It didn't take me long after learning this guys size and athletic ability to really like this pick. Him having super powers is definitely a plus too. I am quite excited to see him play.
What's not to like about a natural leader who can inspire and be productive in the running and passing game? This kid WILL produce, bet on it.
This kid is slowly becoming one of my favorite picks in the draft. He's extremely fast and apparently can cover like my favorite Cowboys blanket. Granted all the hype on him comes from covering young, unestablished receivers. Still this kid has mad potential and I'll be pulling for him in a major way. On top of being able to cover well, I fully expect to see this kid get a few sacks this year rushing off the edge. Hopefully he'll block some kicks too.
I haven't a clue.. Has anyone watched him play? Someone enlighten me on this guy.

As for the undrafted guys we've snagged..
I can certainly see why this kid gets the Wes Welker comparisons. They both come from the same school (Texas Tech), have similar size and speed. Both are extremely quick and tough to cover. I'm pretty excited to see what he can do in training camp. Can he separate from the likes of TNEW, Ant Henry, and the PAC? We shall see, we shall see.
I have to go to work so I'll cut this a bit short by saying I'm not mad at all about not drafting a receiver. There were a couple in this draft that I really did like and am confident will become good players in the NFL, but I agree with the decision to not take one with one our top picks. We had much greater needs and I think we took care of those needs quite well. With that being said, I am extremely anxious to see a few of the rookies as well as a couple of last years rookies battle it out at training camp. Daniel Polk, Danny Amendola, Mark Bradford, Joe West, Isaiah Stanback, and Mike Jefferson. I'm pretty sure Sam Hurd is a lock to make the team but Miles Austin better bring his A-game or he may find himself in Miami swimming with the Tuna.
May an epic training camp battle be had, and here's to finding one or more diamonds in the rough!

Comparing Felix to Reggie Bush shouldn’t worry you because Felix is going to be in a complementary role—something that Reggie excelled with under Deuce.

No kidding
If Felix is Reggie Bush, we are in the money. People seem deluded about Reggie Bush. He is an awesome weapon, even despite his struggles last year. He’s a complimentary back/WR, and he was incredibly effective in that role when they had a power RB to compliment him. I expect us to use Felix the same way the Saints did in Bush’s rookie year, to similarly great effect.
This is not to say that I am foreclosing the possibility that Felix could be a good regular action RB, just that I think the Reggie Bush role is going to be the most effective use of him this year.

Felix Jones is Reggie Bush
at least from a talent and skill set stand point.
When I watch both kids play, its looks like I’m watching the same player.

What gave you cold feet about Jenkins? What made you all of a sudden think that Scandrick can be something great?

My guess is. . .
That many of us sit around and think that we have our positional players ranked as 1 through however many. . .and then the draft happens and the columnists and papers that we read online all of the sudden write articles that shapes our thinking. Seems to me the June Jones stuff never was stated prior to the draft. In fact, most of us were scrambling for online data when Bennett was drafted, let alone Scandrick, so that we could act like we were informed and could either approve of or reject the pick.
So, through rookie camp, it was suggested that Scandrick sored while Jenkins struggled with playing off the receiver 7-10 yards. Thus – Jenkins isn’t starting material today and Scandrick is the next all world player that we stole. . .

By "many of us"
you mean all of us. Because the only information we have is what we’re able to gather from the people who report the information we crave. So yes, it’s all regurgitated information with my gut feelings added in. What else could it be in May?
As far as the Reggie Bush comparison.. I like Reggie and his abilities, but I don’t think he’d be much of an all purpose back and I think the same goes for Felix. If used correctly, which I’m positive J. Garrett will make happen, Felix can be a great asset to this offense. It was very wise of J.Jones and co. to pick up Tashard Choice in case MB3 goes down for any amount of time.
My opinions change all the time.. Heck I even bought a Roy Williams T-Jersey last season. Now it’s my dry off rag for my truck. I tried to continue supporting him, I really did!

Felix Jones
From Watching Felix he looks like a better inside Runner then Reggie, but Reggie appears to be a better WR. With that said Reggie has great hands . I hope Felix is better in space then Reggie. Reggie isn’t making people miss like he should. His yards per reception is that great, I know he is catching out of the backfield, but he still isn’t doing much with it..
I hoping Felix reminds me more of B. Westbrook or Turman Thomas(the guy Wade said he reminds him of).

Not all of us. . .
Some are professional talent evaluators. . .just ask them. ;)
Others – don’t pretend to know anything more than what we are reading about them because they’ve never seen them play.

But my gut feeling is just that Scandrick won’t be nearly as good as Jenkins. There is always a bunch of pressure put on the 1st round guys early on in rookie camp and the OTAs. That isn’t to say I predict that Jenkins cannot handle pressure, but once he gets on the field with veterans, I feel like he is going to fit right in and then start working hard to get onto the field come regular season.

The draft is an imperfect science...
Scandrick was playing against inferior talent, so evaluating him next to the other CBs was guess-work. Out of the top-10 corners that came out this year, any one of them could rise to the top of the class. It is true for any position. If you tried to make a case for Tom Brady being the best QB in that draft class the week prior to the draft, people would laugh at you, but the results prove a different story.
The speed of the NFL, the marathon of training and the mental discipline required to learn your position and your opponents … you can make some educated guesses but until they hit the field, you simply can’t be certain who will emerge as Pro-Bowl caliber players.
Scandrick? Jenkins? It’s still up in the air which will even be better in the long run. But for now, it’s fun to speculate that we may have found some future HOF candidates.

Corner capabilities are developing
By all accounts these two are better than Nate Jones and Jacques Reeves when they arrived. Even so, we don’t know how long it will take before they are ready to produce. Kind of fun to sit back and enjoy the process. Too often we seem to become so fixated on the one goal that we miss the fun of all the intermediate events.
