BTB roll call

On the eve of the first real practices of the year, I thought it was an appropriate time for a BTB roll call. The veterans know what to do but for you rookies on BTB, it’s time to let us know you’re here and become part of the community. Sign-in below in the comments and for all you lurkers - now is the time to get active and join the conversation.

I’m Grizz and if the Cowboys don’t win a playoff game this year I have tickets for Antarctica and next year I’ll be blogging the March of the Penguins.

Your turn and don’t be shy.

I am Dave:

I am from of San Antonio TX. (STXSHOOTER – stands for South Texas Shooter – I play craps in Las Vegas — a lot!)

In 1984 the USAF gave me a choice of Washington DC or San Antonio, TX. Hmmm Redskins or Cowboys? Hmmm Long Story Short I have lived in San Antonio for 20+ years now.

I have been a Cowboy fan as long as I can remember. The wife, kids and dogs stay away when the Cowboys are on TV. Everyone in the house knows the outcome of the game – it is easy to tell by the way I am screaming at the TV.

I even schedule my Las Vegas trips (if they are during the NFL season) around the Cowboys TV schedule.

We need to go DEEEEP into the playoffs this year.

I'm Shoother and I'm a Cowboyaholic

Shooter was my nickname in college – no need to elaborate. Shooter was taken so I phoneticallly spelled it (not an advocate of domestic violence, boys and girls). Born and spoon-fed on Dorsett, Too-Tall, Cpt. Comeback, etc. I am ecstatic about the 2008 season and think we WILL GO DEEP this year in the playoffs.

Funny story – my 2 yr. old was on a plane with me coming home from Philadelphia (family there) the weekend Philly beat us last year (2007). While at the gate in Philly, she stood up on my lap, grabbed the seat in front of her and yelled “GO T.O! GO T.O!” Needless to say, I was one proud parent.

hoping the ‘Boys get that playoff win, host the championship game and get that ring that we so richly deserve….as for my lakers….sigh…right now i’d be willing to concede two things: paul pierce is the MVP of the series so far and he should be nominated for best actress in a made-for-tv drama…..

Boyz here....I'm beyond a Cowboy fanatic....some say insanely devoted...

I can’t get enough of my Cowboys…..Not looking to make anyone uncomfortable…but…”I Get a Woody” just thinking about this years squad, and their projected outcome.
As of RIGHT NOW, I’m moving to Dallas/Fort Worth the first week of October…I’ve decided watching them via satelite just isn’t going to cut it anymore…I plan on eventually meeting, and maybe even hanging out with some of my native Dallas BTB bloggers…
I plan on becoming a season ticket holder at the new stadium of the Boys, regardless of initial costs, I plan on reading all the local newspapers to be up on the Boys, and watching any local programming involving the Boys…I plan on attending training camps, possibly even looking to aquire a job working for the Dallas Cowboys….It’s something I should’ve done years ago….now it’s my time.

This team has evolved into something special. In fact, I believe they are just one or two more players from being, and becoming arguably
the BEST Dallas Cowboys team ever assembled…..talent wise at least…..if that translates into Super Bowl Championships remains to be seen….I grew up watching the great Staubach led teams of the late 70’s and talent ladden Danny White teams of the early 80’s…........They were the greatest teams that somehow ended up losing out on so so many more SB’s that we should’ve won or been involved in….I rank this current roster BETTER than the 3 time Champs of the early-mid 90’s…..IT”S TIME to produce….

But I have a hunch we’ll be seeing at least 2-3 over the next 5 years…..

I currently reside in Orlando Florida, which is about 70 miles from Tampa, FL..Home of the 2008 NFL Super Bowl Championship game….so I’m kinda caught in a tussle…Cuz I’d sure like to be able to check out SuperBowl week, and be rockin the place every night, There will be Cowboys fanatics by the thousands…..we’ll see how it goes….......I have till late september to decide to stay here or go to Dallas….either way…we’ll be watching championship football THIS year…..NO excuses.

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

Dallas

Hello All,
I’m Dallas, long time Cowboys fan. My first memory of football in SB VI where we beat the Dolphins.
I stayed with my Boys through the good times of the 70’s, the last days of the greatest coach ever (of Course Landry)(just think if we would have won the ice bowl maybe it would be called the Landry Trophy!) and of course 1989 with the huge changes then the great 90’s and now on to Romo and the boys.
I really feel this is the year, if we can finally win in the playoffs.

Long Time Cowboys Fan

I have been a Cowboys fan for a long time. My only regret is that I have never been to a regular season game. I did attend a pre-season game in New Orleans when they were still playing at Tulane. That was when I lived in New Orleans 1962-64. It was the Cowboys and the Baltimore Colts.

I was sent from Fort Polk, La (basic training) to Fort Richardson, AK in 1964. I was in the Army for two years in Anchorage, and I decided to stay in Anchorage after my tour in the Army for one year. That one year is now 44 years and counting.

Looking forward to this season. I feel a Super Bowl in our future.

Cowboys family

I grew up in the Southeast, my wife grew up in Long Beach, but our kids are native Texans. Our entire household loves the Cowboys, and for over two decades now, when we can’t be at the game we are having a watching party at our house. I have the pleasure to know some former Cowboys but not any on the current roster.

My #1 sports love is college football, but the Cowboys are also right there. I support all of the local teams, the Stars, the Mavs, and the Rangers and have owned season tickets to all of them at one time or another. Wish I could afford them in the new stadium! Go Cowboys!

Hey Boys (and girls)

Greetings. Louie has been my nickname since I was about four years old. Lifelong Cowboys fan and Wisconsin resident. I grew up watching the 70’s Cowboys. The two older boys next door were Packers and Dolphins fans. From what little I can surmise, I needed a team too, and began following the Cowboys because (1) they were ‘available’ (Pack and Fish taken) and (2) they always seemed to be on tv and winning.

I have always been a big fan, but the internet and NFL Ticket have really taken it to a new level. I no longer feel ‘left out’ because I don’t live in the Dallas area. I’ve been fortunate to see the Cowboys play at several venues around the country. This season I plan on going to the games in Green Bay and Pittsburgh, but I’ll take a pass on going to Dallas until the new stadium is built.

My little boy is almost two years old and is being raised a Cowboy fan in the heart of Packer Country. My little girl is almost two weeks old and I’m not sure if I will subject her to the same sort of abuse. My life is good and the only thing that will ruin it is if I have an affair with the girl shown on my image profile.

Been a Cowboy's fan since 1988. . .

I was a sophomore in high school, and I really didn’t take notice until Landry was fired. Something about shoving a Texas legend out the door does that to you even when you’re young.

I was in the Army from 92-96, and the Cowboys team was a way for me to keep ties to my Texas roots, and to be proud of where I came from (not that its all that hard to be proud of being a Texan in the first place).

My guess is that our secondary is going to be the difference maker for our defense, which will be #1 in the league. I also think that is what is going to lead us to #6 and will even overshadow our offense to most people’s surprise. Ware and Ellis are going to combine to set a record for DE/OLB sack totals.

Hi from North Carolina barrier islands...

Vagabond DALAILUKE here… traveling for the next 18 months… cross-country then overseas. Why not? No kids, no wife, got the travel bug. BTB is one of the few routines in my life… and somehow I like the chaos. By the way, Lakers are horrible and Kobe should NEVER be mentioned in the same breath as MJ.

Tar Heels football will surprise this year
