G-Men are the team to beat in the NFC East
They are not only the champs, but they are clearly the deepest of all the teams in the division. Offense = depth. Defense = depth. Plax is unstoppable (ate the dallas secondary for lunch in week 1 before he badly hurt his ankle) and nobody on the Cowgirl D has the wavos to stick Jacobs at the line of scrimmage (see 1 yard TD run in playoff game). Dallas is definitely loaded, but if they get a few injuries (esp @ WR) its alllll over for the girls. G-Men in 2008; y'all just get your popcorn ready. Have a wonderful day.

Depth? ha ha
Dallas has more Depth on defense than any other team in the NFL. We’ll see how well the “unstoppable” Plaxico Burress does against the best secondary in the league.
Even if he was unstoppable he still has to have a decent QB to get the ball to him.

Look at the playoff game
and you tell me who was the better qb. Eli played great, while Romo played at about a C+ grade.

don't look at ONE game
Look at the season and then tell me who the better QB is.

Dumb Troll
Doesn’t even know how to spell “huevos”. His team got hot for a month and a Lombardi Trophy fell into their laps. Enjoy it while you can, troll.

Thanks for the correction kinda blue;
and you have no response to the fact that Dallas’ D is scared of Jacobs, bottom line. I have NEVER seen a cowboy stick Jacobs at the line of scrimmage in any game since he came into the league. You simply have no answer for him.

I beg to differ
Roy Williams laid out Jacobs in the game in New York. I know, because I was there.

Yea, LAID HIS BUTT OUT ... as in popped him, stopped him... reversed him... and sat him down
I was there too…. and the crowd was silenced by the hit…
Oh, wait, half the crowd.
The other half was cheering!! Because even in Giants Stadium, there were TONS of Cowboys fans. Remember? To watch Romo and company pwn the Gints. I was also there for all of November and December… you remember? Those months when every Giants fan was calling in to WFAN radio demanding that Eli get benched or traded? Giants fans are supposed to be so great, but you were a fair-weather bunch last year!!!! Now suddenly the Eli bandwagon is full of trumpets… we’ll see how long that lasts when he goes back to his mediocre career passer rating to start the season.
Don’t go away mad, Troll… just go. As in buh…. bye.
Tar Heels football will surprise this year

Then Your Memory Is As Bad
As your spelling. Roy Williams killed Jacobs at the goal line as he was going in for the tying touchdown, causing a fumble which Williams recovered.
Oct 16, 2005, 4th Quarter: 2-1-DAL 3 (1:26) B.Jacobs up the middle to DAL 1 for 2 yards (R.Williams). FUMBLES (R.Williams), RECOVERED by DAL-R.Williams at DAL 1.
Dallas is hardly scared of Jacobs. He’s a flabby, mediocre runner, and a flopping baby besides.
by kindablue on Jun 22, 2008 7:33 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
dude i saw the video
and williams didnt come close to “killing” Jacobs in any capacity whatsoever. He poked the ball out of his hands. And if dallas isnt scared, then where are the cowgirl defenders stuffing him at the line?

The Midgets are the 2nd best team in the NFC East
I realize you are just a smack talking troll who wants to get us riled up, but let me lay down some facts you seem to have overlooked.
1) Cowboys beat the Midgets 2 of 3 times last year, and outplayed them in the playoff game. Were it not for a key 2 minute drive at the end of the first half and several unforced errors by the Cowboys in the 2nd half, your team would have gotten throttled.
2) Brandon Jacobs is just a smack talker like yourself. This Cowboys defense held him in check during the games he was able to finish/play.
3) Fans that are confident in their team’s ability don’t post this crap on another team’s blog unless they hate that team. You would only hate the Cowboys if you feared/respected them. This just proves that you know deep down the Cowboys are a much stronger team than your Midgets. We’ll let our team do the talking on the field this season.

Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if the giants DIDN’T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NEXT YEAR
green bay and arizona may be pretty good choices for wild cards, thus leaving new york out of the NFC playoffs

What depth?
This from the team who’s about to trade away their number one cowboy killer (Shockey) because they love kevin boss.
Depth in the secondary? I see one, maybe two average CB’s.
Depth in the pass rush? With Strahan retired, we’re looking at a team that has 2-3 good pass rushers, not 3-4 like before. It seems more likely to me that the NYG DT’s come back to earth and the Giants get run on a whole lot (see loss to Minnesota or 2nd quarter of playoff game).
Depth at WR? Please! Taking away Plaxico from that offense puts it in the same position as the Cowboys offense without TO.
Seems to me like there’s depth at RB and TE, with one about to change and one filled by a starter who has health problems. Whereas the Cowboys have depth at pass rush, CB, and possibly RB depending on how Felix Jones turns out.

"pint sized".......= brain size.....typical idiot Giants fan...
Even Michael Stahan ” The best Giant of all time” said Dallas was the best team…...period.
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

He is just jealous that the Giants blog sites is basically dead. It makes sense he sees our site and how much activity it has on it and wants in..

lol...true....If he jumps on now, there still might be time for the "bandwagon"
Giants fans show up about once a decade to talk trash, cuz they seem to nose dive after every championship….in fact, I believe the year following both their previous titles, they ended up with an under.500 record…I see them being no better than 9-7 this year….if that..

i'm not trash talking
i said dallas was loaded but the G-men are the kings of the east. If dallas wants more success maybe they should move to the NFC South where they belong.
by pint glass on Jun 23, 2008 7:41 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
not the kings
We won the division last year, and Philly the year before that. You won the super bowl, but you were only 3-3 in the division, tied for 2nd with the Was..
Kings??
I do appreciate you firing up the message board though, it is nice change of pace. I can respect your love for the Giants, even if you are way of base with your comments..
You mentioned Jacobs, but he never broke 100 yds vs us. He was well below his season average for YPC vs the Cowboys, also. So we already have him figured out- I do believe we knocked him out of game 1?

thanks for the appreciation, the message board needed some spice.
I admit some of my comments are a little off base, but its just to get the blood boiling in dallas fans. honestly, i think that the g-men and dallas are evenly matched teams but i do think the giants have more depth.

depth?
At what position?
QB.
Even. Romo much better Qb in my opinion, but Eli has proved it in the playoffs and has a Ring.
RB
Even-Jacobs and Bradshaw-proven Combo
Marion is more well rounded then Jacobs, but Jacobs averages 5 YPC, and Bradshaw is talented-Even though he may get suspended
WR
Edge- Dallas TO better the Plax, Toomer is old.
TE
Edge- Dallas Witten is better then Shockey
O-Line
Edge- Dallas 3 Pro Bowlers
D-Line
Edge- Slightly New York, but no Strahan, this can easily change
Linebackers-
Edge Dallas-Demarcus Ware enough said.
CB-
Edge-Dallas T-new, Henry, Pac-man-Much better Trio Ross, Madison, Webster
Safety
Edge Dallas- 2 Pro-Bowl Safeties to None. Your best corner left for FA.. How does your starting free safety have one int?
I am not seeing the depth?

Heres what I think is most working against the giants repeating their sucess.
Point Differential. They only outscored their opponents by 22 points last year. Thats an average of 1.3 pts a game. While the Cowboys were at +130, the Pats at +315, Colts at +188 and Green Bay at +144. The Redskins were +24.
by houseofprime on Jun 24, 2008 12:38 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
interesting stat
they got the points when they needed them, which is what really counts, but the question is whether they can be consistent.
by scottmaui on Jun 24, 2008 1:30 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Good stat
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: the Giants were a fluke in winning the Super Bowl. In any sport, scoring differential is a good way to see when teams are winning more than their “fair share.” A team that feasts on narrow victories is likely to have a letdown follow in the next year (and, by the way, I know Dallas won a couple of close ones last year).
I give the Giants all the credit in the world for their playoff run, but they are just not that good a team. Not even factoring in that they lost arguably their best player and leader in Strahan, I saw that team get manhandled by the likes of the Vikings last year at home, and they had a lot of lackluster regular season games.
There are two things we all need to remember. One, the Giants are the defending champions. Two, they beat three teams with nearly identical pass-happy offenses in the playoffs using a novel defensive front that depended on QB pressure, in large part due to the now-retired Strahan. In other words, it was an ambush, which depends on the element of surprise. Even if Strahan were still there, the same trick would not work twice because the Cowboys, Packers, and Pats would play it differently knowing what they know now. The hubris of Green Bay and the Pats to think they could succeed where the last team fell was the reason they lost. Take away Strahan and their pass rush falls from dominant to decent, with all due respect to Osi, Tuck, and Kiawnuka (spelling is wrong there I am sure). The Giants have no other dominant qualities (though they do have a pretty good running game). I don’t think the increased confidence from the Super Bowl run is going to make a huge difference on the field.
I see them finishing 3rd in the division, assuming no QB injuries to any of the teams. That may be good enough to make the playoffs, but I’m betting not.
Also, let’s not forget that the Giants were a drop by Samuel or a non-miracle catch from Tyree away from losing the Super Bowl. That said, congrats, and enjoy the view from the top while it lasts, because it won’t.
