Well...I always wondered why Jones didn't reach his potential last season, and now I think I have a pretty good idea. I know he was supposedly injured last year, but, as I recall, those were sometimes referred to as "unspecified injurries". Makes me think maybe he had a strained nostril...

It's really a shame. As much as I despise Arkansas, I had loads of respect for the kid after he torched us (Texas) in back to back years. I remember hoping that we would make a move in the '05 draft to slide up to grab him.

Jacksonville reached on the pick, but I really thought that eventually the kid would start to produce. His second season was solid (41-643) considering the offensive mess the Jags were in.

this makes Chris Mortenson look like a smuck

I remember on ESPN back in 2006 when he proclaimed Jones to be one of the best players in the draft and he’d be an all pro as a receiver, what a joke!

He couldn’t have picked a worse time to get busted, right before TC when he probably would have been cut anyway. Off to the CFL with ya, Matt. You waste of talent.
