Around SBN: Jeremy Lin Sets Assist High In Easy Win Over Sacramento

Think Aaron Rodgers will be the QB playing against us on week 3? Not so fast... Brett Favre "has an 'itch' to come out of retirement and report to training camp," and "has communicated his potential desire to coach Mike McCarthy but talks have not advanced to a substantive stage, a Packers source said."

I read that

That would be huge for the Packers. NFC championship team that is pretty much entact.
He says it is just talk, but if he really reached out the Packers then it is more then just talk.

Favre coming back

would divide the locker room, the Packers should go tell him to scratch that itch somewhere else.

That's what the word is

Packers can’t afford to have him back and he knows it, so he is trying force a release without requesting it. He doesn’t want to tarnish his legacy by asking to be released, but his 12 million against the cap would cause them to release players, and he knows they will not do that.

The Pack has moved on. The body language and look on Favre’s face during those cold weather games against Chicago and the Giants brought the message home loud and clear to GB Management: the NFL is a young man’s game and Favre no longer has “IT”. Aaron Rodgers is Ted Thompson’s man – his first draft pick as Packer GM. Shrewd Ted will trade the rights to Favre to some team that is not in the division. This will be an offseason PR nightmare for the Packers but winning cures all of those ills. As soon as the games count, if the Pack are winning and Rodgers is generally playing well, all will be forgiven.

An "itch" eh?

A little Gyne-Lotrimin cream should clear that up. I kid.

I think he will come back. He’s still healthy enough and his team is playoff caliber. The most satisfying Cowboy wins in the 90’s were over the 49er’s, I would love to see a similar rivalry with the Pack.
