Skins News

So the Skins lost DE Daniels to an ACL blowout in their first practice.  E.James is going to enter the season on the PUP list so they go to Miami and get Jason Taylor for a second round pick next year. WOW.  That is huge!

They always play us tough so I am glad to see Daniels gone but Taylor is a new problem. Coming off our right side might cause a problem for us.  What do y'all think???

The Skins!!!

Does anyone really worry about the skins…... That franchise has been dysfunctional ever since little danny boy bought them, new year, new player overhaul and new coaches, sound like successful way to run a franchise to me——NOT!!!!.

Taylor, although a very good player is 33 years old, Good for Miami since by the time the Bill parcells overall is complete in Miami, Taylor would be 35 or 36 years old and very little value to the dolphins. The Dolphins want draft picks and lots of them. The skins like overpaying for aging veterans and second tier players.. Is Brett Favre to the skins next???

Lol

I wouldn’t think Favre to the skins is funny. Favre would fit right in the West Coast offense. If they get Favre, I would be a little nervous.

Yeah the Dolphins got good value.

The Skins really needed him though. They’re already in camp?

Put Columbo up against Taylor. He’ll handle him.

That #38 sure can hit!

He did last year when we played them

Taylor is a non-factor. It won’t help them one bit. New face same tired team. Greg Williams is gone also which leaves them to learn a whole new scheme which doesn’t help.

Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!

gotta love

Washington mortgaging the future for the present.. Funny part is that have drafted well( Landry,Sean Taylor, Campbell) but continue to trade away picks.

Told y’all so about the skins. The Giants and Eagles will not be our toughest division opponent.

Taylor

This makes the Skins a little better now, at the expense of the future. Taylor replacing Daniels is an upgrade, but how much does JT have left? I know he was defensive player of the year a couple years ago, but how does he fit into the Skins scheme?

I am shocked by how quickly they got this done. I don’t think this makes them a playoff contender, though, too much change all at once. New head coach, DC, new offensive scheme, and the west coast isn’t exactly the easiest style of offense to learn.

It will make them more of a challenge but doesn’t put them over the top. If they get Favre, all bets are off.

They just improved

But Andre Carter is the RE where the pressure would come from. Are they just going to stick Taylor at LE, or move Carter over?

So much for Taylor getting to “play for a contender” , BP just screwed him over.

I'd be more worried

if the Eagles had gotten him. They are only a few pieces away from being very good, and DE is one of the pieces.

I'm with you Dunkman

I’m more worried more about the Eagles this year than I am about the Giants and Skins

Football Outsiders has them pegged as pretty much the best team in football.
Of course, FO loves them unconditionally on a regular basis, but it makes me nervous nonetheless… as well as their Cowboy projection of 8.1 wins.

I read that the Eagles were the other team

looking to make a deal for Taylor, and when Daniels went down the Skins hopped on ahead of them.

Spending money has done them no good yet, and I don’t expect it to now.

Money. He better not let columbo get his hands on him. Once he is in Columbo’s grasp it’s over..

I'm not worried about it one bit

We can always help help Colombo with a TE or have a RB chip him, no big deal.

C'mon be a little real. Jason Taylor is a force

I think that with the exception of the stupid trade for Duckett the ‘Skins have actually been responsible for about four or five years now (look at how many picks they had this past draft and how wise they were with them). They’ll just never live down the stigma of Sanders/Smith/Carrie r/George etc. in ‘99-’02, and the Spurrier debacle after that.

With Jason Taylor & Andre Carter the Redskins are cooking with gas.

'Skins

The Redskins did make the playoffs last year and should not be dismissed out of hand. Having said that, Daniels and Taylor are about even at this point in their careers, so it seems like all of this is a wash.

Signature! I don't need no stinking signature!!

yes and no

Taylor double digit sacks, Phillips 2.5, that is a pretty big difference, but Daniels is stout against the run.

They also lost another DE yesterday, too. Crazy..

True about the lack of run D on Taylors Part

But our pass rush is horrid and our young DT’s are showing promise in run stuffing. The NFC east is going to be Sacktastic this year
