Jason Taylor in NFC East?!?!  (UGH)

Per ESPN: Jason Taylor Traded to Foreskins

This is not my idea of fun.  I have a lot of respect for Jason Taylor, and now we have to face the guy 2 times a year minimum?  I don't like this, not one bit!  I believe he still has a few more solid years, possibly more than our boy Zach Thomas.  This should be an interesting situation for the next few years.  Earn that money O-line!

I cant stand this clown.

And why does dude think he’s got a shot at acting. This is the least charismatic dude ive ever seen.

Bring him on, we aint scared.

It's lame he went to the Skins

But our tackles are adept at handling DEs like him. Plus, we can pick Zach’s brain if need be.

zach

was the brains so im sure he knows all of JTs weakness.. lets go zach cough it up

What the French?! Toast!

Correct Sir

Zach was the brains but how does that translate to some sort of weakness when the whole NFL knows his weakness…Jason Taylor is no run stuffer. Go ahead gameplan for one player and see what happens.

Out of 4 times T.O. has faced Philly only once has he eclipsed 100yds and in the other three has not got more then 45yds. Dallas is 1-3 against Philly since T.O. left so if he had some sort of secret of what the defense (that he practiced against for 2yrs) inner-workings it hasn’t worked.

Zach was in Miami for about a decade with JT

and T.O. didn’t even make it to 2 years with Philly. That’s a huge contrast.

I was joking to say pick Zach’s brain (which they might anyways, casually) because he is so close to JT. I’m sure their friendship/relationship would supercede some NFL East rivalry and they’ll do nothing but hope for the best for each other. I don’t think a MLB will have the same perspective on dealing with JT as an OL would, especially since they were on the field at the same time.

The response was not for your comment

Taylor’s family was actually in Dallas when this trade went down & Zach Thomas is his brother-in-law so their bond is as strong as it can get.

The T.O. referance was to make a point that players that leave a team aren’t nesseserly going to give their new team an advantage when facing said old team.

Foreskins how original

Really who cares how charismatic he is? Do you Cowboy fans care about Romo’s antics with Jessica? I’m gonna guss no and you shouldn’t. It’s all about what happends between the hashmarks and the fact is he’s a sackmaster. Funny how you say we aren’t scared like your lining up on an NFL field.

I’m not a troll or whatever, you can check my history on this blog and I always appreciate good football talk, that’s why I check this site out. However just to ignore the talents of a possible HOF’er because he’s on a rival team is lame.

Was certainly a nice pick up for the Skins...He will cause havoc...and those who don't think so...really never seen him play...

I was sort of wishing Ellis was going to whine himself outta here so we could grab him…..a 2nd and a 6th…..a steal in my mind…..he’s got 3 all pro years left in him.

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

Thanks for keeping it real

I’m not saying the Redskins are Super Bowl bound now or even going to win the NFC East, just that this is a great pickup (especially being teamed with Andre Carter) and everyone who disregards it simply because it’s own their rivals team is foolish.

I'm not stupid

I’ve seen him take over games before and I’ve been saying the Skins ARE going to be our toughest division opponent this year. When I heard the news about them getting Taylor I flipped out! Why them?

Still, it’s a great challenge for Columbo who holds his own against great DEs. I think he’s why people don’t fear the trade.

No Doubt the 'Boys O-line is great

but I think people are forgetting that we have Andre carter on the other side as well. The G-men showed the NFL what a pass rush can do. That being said all that matters is what happends on the field.

They now have 2 double digit Sack guys..

Good point

The o-line handled teams with 2 pass-rushing DEs pretty well (such as GB) but it will certainly be a challenge. The real question for me with the Skins is how they adapt to the new coaching. I fully expect them to play us tough as always and challenge for a playoff spot. I foresee 3 NFC East teams in the playoffs again.

by grapejoos on Jul 21, 2008 2:09 PM CDT up reply actions

3 east teams... NAW

Giants lost their heart and soul on Defense no way they are a contender unless eli turns a big corner…

Redskins new coach new Offense jason campell needs to learn ANOTHER system… their D lost too many good players to injury already no way the D will be able to bail out the Offense enough to make the playoffs.

Eagles will be the only team fighting for the division and a playoff spot. Only if mcnabb stays healthy will they contend for the division. If he misses more then 4 games then they might be in it for a wildcard at best.

Its cowboys division to throw away but then again anything can happen thats why i love the NFL!

What defensive players are you speaking of?

We lost two DE’s for the year. One a starter on that was a practice squad player. CB Rodgers is out until maybe week 4 or so but has already been replaced by Fred Smoot who could start for a lot of other teams. CB depth is fine.

Our offense was vanilla last year and the D did just fine to get us into the playoffs. The year Auburn won the championship was the year Campbell was running the WCO.

Put it to you this way

The Giants and Skins both made it last year. I think the Skins are better now on paper, and the coaching is a wildcard. The Giants figure to be a little worse, but who knows? Maybe they’ve found their stride. And the Eagles are better on paper now, if not a year older (and McNabb has had a year to recover from knee surgery).

Put it to you this way, there’s no way 2 playoff teams come out of the West in my mind, and I don’t think more than one is coming out of the North, either. The South might put two in. Otherwise it’s all the east.

by grapejoos on Jul 24, 2008 10:56 AM CDT up reply actions

Dallas will just run over him.

The guy that knows him best now wears a Star on his helmet. Zach Thomas will tell Garrett all pretty boy’s weaknesses and we’ll see how effective he is.

Funny

how you say “we” have andre carter like you own the team. Haha.

Colombo will handle him

just like last season. New coach, new DC, old DE. Same tired team. Everyone is making a big deal over nothing. One player on the down side of his career is not going to make them contenders.

Did anyone ever think Parcells would be true to his word when he said “Taylor will play for the Dolphins or he will retire?” We all know from his time here he talks through the side of his mouth all the time.

Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!
