Shocky to Saints
Jeremy Shockey has just been traded to the New Orleans Saints for a second round pick and a 5th round pick according to The Michael Irvin Show..
Roy Williams must be happy...
What do you think of the Saints now as opposed to before this pick up? Brees, Bush, McAllister, Colston and Henderson... Thats a formidable offense, coupled with a explosive D..
Where does this put the Saints in the NFC race? Can they be a contender right away??
LETS GO COWBOYS!!

Good short Term
Not having to play Shockey is good for us during regular season, but makes New Orleans a force down the strech.
I had Saints 2, still 2, but they are stacked on Offense. Not sold on the D though.

Do the Giants really feel that secure with Boss?
I think it’s a mistake. If I were a Giant fan, I’d be peeved.
This will really help Brees’ and Shockey’s Fantasy value.

not the same team
I know Shockey wasn’t a part of the team for the run, but he helped them win balls games.
No shockey, strahan, or Wilson.. That is 3 key starters, two of them are All-Pro Talent.

Yeah, Giants may struggle this year
They need a big year from Eli, and I’m not all that convinced he’s put his struggles behind him. They also need a healthy receiving corps, and they need Kiwanuka, Boss, and Phillips to step up. And that’s just to make the playoffs.

We can't forget about Sean Payton.
He’s still gunning to beat his old team and got a guy to help him do that. Saints would be a tough team to see in the playoffs. Although, this isn’t the we-will-not-make-adjustments-Parcells-led squad either.

Their LBs will be pretty good.
Shanle and Fujita make plays and they got that MLB from the Jets.

Vilma
Vilma is a beast when healthy, not sure on the health, but they will be a better team if he is healthy.
They have some quality additions Vilma-Pro Bowler, Sed Ellis, and Gay. The D could be much improved.
I am hoping to see how Peyton will hanle a Shockey blow up?

Sedrick Ellis will be a beast in the middle
Then they have Will Smith and Charles Grant at DE, their D-line looks much better which should help the CB, but they still have a weak secondary.
The offense could be formidable also. Brees, Colston, Bush and their O-line are solid, then add in Shockey, Deuce, and Meachem, if those 3 are healthy, look out.

Didn't they get Gibril Wilson too?
I know they got some decent Safety.

The Saints added
CB’s Randal Gay, Aaron Glenn and drafted Tracy Porter. Porter might turn out to be good eventually, but I think they are still weak in the secondary. Of course a strong pass rush will make them look better.

Their offense doesn't scare me,
if Deuce isn’t back. Bush showed last year he couldn’t handle the load. Can you say scatback? I know they do like Pierre Thomas a lot, but he really hasn’t shown he can be a feature back either.

I know GloryDayz
you took the words right out of my mouth. The Saints stunk last year, maybe 2006 was just an aberration.

Could've been.
They may have just been a surprise team to everybody else. Still made the NFC Championship game though.

Jason Taylor almost to Giants? Check this out from FoxSports.
The move comes one day after Jason Taylor was traded from Miami to New York’s NFC East rivals in Washington. According to a report on SI.com, the Giants had held discussions about a three-team trade in which they would have ended up with Taylor, the Saints would have landed Shockey and the Dolphins would have received a pair of draft picks.

Shockey is overrated
why do you think the GMen got rid of him? Boss is just as good, they won’t miss him.
As for the Saints, their offense isn’t the problem, their defense really stinks

Shockey
I don’t think Boss is a talented, but he gets the job done, and doesn’t disrupt the chemistry..

Shlockey was really overrated. Maybe Boss is a little less talented, but he doesn’t whine and act like a fool. Glad he’s gone so I don’t have to watch him twice a year anymore. I couldn’t stand that putz.

Another Point
The writer brought up the fact that Boss is much better blocker then Shockey.

Preaches exactly the opposite.

Shockey the blocker!
And, unlike Shockey, the big kid from Western Oregon really likes blocking, a prerequisite in the New York running game. But when you’re attempting to defend a championship, it’s better to have as much talent as possible. Two is always better than one
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8364992
Shockey isn’t noted for his blocking, but his presence still will help the running game. Defenses are going to have to account for Shockey with linebackers and safeties and that’s going to open things up for Bush and McAllister. Opposing defenses won’t be able to use eight men in the box and they won’t be able to devote all their coverage to Colston.
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcsouth/0-1-29/Shockey-brings-balance-to-Saints.html
There is really no pressure at all on starting tight end Kevin Boss. He is not a main cog in the offense, so he can just go about doing his job, which is to block and catch the ball when thrown in his direction. The Giants needed some complimentary players for their offense, ones who accept their role and do the dirty work. Boss did all those things very well last year and will improve even more this season.

Nice finds WMill
Doesn’t it seem the Giants are collecting WRs to lean towards a more spread offense. With Burress and Toomer, they drafted Steve Smith, Moss, and now that dude from Michigan.
Since they lost some guys on D, they want to sling it this year to try to outscore opponents instead of limit them.

I know
We will be rolling coverage big time towards Burress. I would try to make the other guys beat us.. Plus they also cut Bradshaw who is there most Dynamic back.. Jacobs back-up is extremely injury prone.

Bradshaw is still on the roster.
He hasn’t been cut by them.

better than they had,
he probably wont make a full season, does”nt matter they have to make the playoffs in order to play us & no they don’t present that big of a threat, plus if we was to meet in the playoffs, we owe them a beat down from the last time in TX.Stadium. the difference is Coach Payton wont know every play were calling this time.
Saints fans get there if you can.
Giants keep losing key people get ready to go from riches to rags.
