Eric Parker anyone?

Nothing to get excited about, but I saw that San Diego released Eric Parker the other day. In the event that the Terry Glenn issue ends in his release, do you guys think Eric Parker makes any sense.

He oughta be cheap and he is an experienced speed guy at least somewhat similar to Glenn. Even though it seems like he's been around forever, he's 29 so it's not like one of those desperate Joe Horn type of moves.

I would still much rather trade for a top level dude if thats still possible, even if it costs us a #1 next year. But I do think Parker would make sense if Glenn is released.

IF Glenn is released

I would consider it. Couple of problems, one he’s been out over a year so lots of rust to knock off and two, we are already looking at keeping 6 CBs and 5-6 WRs. That’s about 1/5 of your total roster spots for two positions.

No Thanks

His agent says he is still recovering from toe surgery. This type of move would be a progress stopper. The only WR I would go for is an elite top 5 guy. Otherwise I dont think there is anyone on the street or available by trade that has more potential then the guys we already have on the roster.

They need insurance.

Toe surgery is not knee surgery. He could be ready to contribute before preseason.

That #38 sure can hit!

We have guys who can contribute

and they are relatively healthy. I defer to the Anquan Boldin post for my 1st choice in the WR market.

what do you mean by toe surgery isn't knee surgery?

I got news for you, a receivers toes are just as important as a receivers knees so implying that toe surgery is easier to come back from simply isn’t true.

My question is though why would anyone want this guy even 100% healthy, he stinks.

I disagree. You ever hear of a toe ending a players career?

Knees are probably the 1st cause of that.

actually I have

Franco Harris is the first that comes to mind, along with Jack Lambert, but there have been others.

That was back when they just cut em off.

Turf toe and torn ligaments are things an offseason can heal. Knees may take a season or two.

Doesn’t matter, I don’t see them going after Parker.

LMAO

I think they just bit them off themselves after taking a shot of whiskey. Then, right back into the game. Today’s players are such wusses.

No thanks

They cut him because he couldn’t get healthy.. Sounds like Terry Glenn all over again.

+1

I’ll pass. Were going to roll with what we have guys. Forget about anyone else until next off season.

Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!

I had a dream last night

Terry Glenn was signed by another team but for the life of me I can’t remember to who.

I think I know

Pass

Like Glenn, Parker cant pass a physical either

by Deke on Jul 24, 2008 10:59 AM CDT   0 recs

no way

first of all he’s not that good, no where as good as Glenn and second he’s also injured and like Deke said wouldn’t pass a physical.

I wasnt aware of all the injury stuff

probably not a good idea then.

by GloryDayz88 on Jul 24, 2008 1:07 PM CDT   0 recs

Definitely.

Bring him in. The only reason everybody is looking for another #1 is fear of T.O. going down. Can’t live like that. They should take a look at Parker. He’s fast.

You might as well bring in Chris Henry then

He was aquitted of his charges and I think the others against him were dropped. Atleast he’s healthy…. but we really dont need another reclaimation project.

by Deke on Jul 24, 2008 5:54 PM CDT   0 recs

I know this is a sarcastic post

A good lawyer does not and innocent man make. Henry and Adam were not a positive pair at West Virginia. I wouldnt want both on my team and if I had to pick one, it would be Adam.

by Impatient on Jul 24, 2008 7:40 PM CDT to parent up   0 recs

Some of the other WR's still unsigned

Parker
Koren Robinson
Joe Horn
Chris Henry

They all have issues.

I think Glenn is crazy for not signing that waiver, no one is going to give him a better deal with a better chance to go out a champ.

They should go with what we have unless Roy Williams or Bolden are still attainable.

they all stink except for Henry

and he’s a trouble maker which automatically rules him out. You should really try to limit one thug per team.

find teams

After Training camp and Pre-Season Robinson and Horn will have a job.. I don’t think Henry get’s another shot..

Parker can’t pass of phsycial yet, so he will have to wait..

Guess we'll just keep what we have.

Cuz the guys out there have baggage. Maybe after roster cuts.
