Diabetics, Take Heed!
As much as I love reading stories about how Tony Romo and TO have a special bond as QB and WR, Calvin Watkins over at DMN wrote this article that will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. Time 10. Here is just a sample:
The bond between Romo and Owens goes beyond the field. The two call each other, hang out together sometimes and attended each others' birthday parties.
Cautionary warning, this next line may upset some readers:
"I made him a birthday cake," Romo said.
I just can't wait for the reaction to that one!

Do youremember the week Romo took over as the starter?
TO baked him cookies.

what a difference between
Romo and both McNabb and Garcia, I think it just proves how big of an ahole those guys were.

I have no love for McNabb or Garcia
but isn’t it true that TO was the first to throw them under the bus? Garcia first when TO questioned his sexuality, and McNabb about his “conditioning” at the Super Bowl? Those are just two examples. There were many more.

yeah, but don't you think they're were
underlying reasons why he said those things?
I’m sure if T.O. was as tight with those guys as he is with Romo, those things would have never been said by T.O.

Could TO have matured
or was there lots of motivation for him to tone it down once he reached Dallas? Even more now that he is the featured WR on the team. He loves attention and he didn’t get what he thought he deserved with the 49er’s or Eagles. He complained loud and long in the media that the Linc’s PA announcer and the Eagles organization didn’t recognize him for his 100th career TD during a game. I live in the area and it was big news at the time. TO has been on his best behavior to be sure. Maybe he really has changed. We’ll see.

Yeah, I gotta agree with you FarRider
I love TO now, but he was in the wrong before. He’s matured and he’s with an organization that lets him do pretty much whatever he wants, offers positive reinforcement, and has a QB who understands him. I think he realized after Philly that he had to be more of a team player, and to his credit, by year 2 in Dallas, he mellowed out. I think he’s truly a changed man now.

Not in Philly
You guys are wrong about that. TO was a model teammate all year and when he got injured Donovan said “we can win without TO” and TO took it personally. Plus, I just don’t buy the “Donovan is a good guy” story. I think he is kind of a selfish bi-atch. Not to say that TO wasn’t immature and too sensitive but I think you can place the blame 50-50 in Philly.

not doubt McNabb is a jerk
and a highly overrated qb as well.

+1.....McNabb "solely" ruined any chance they had in that SB...couldn't face the FACTS..
without TO…..they wouldn’t have made the playoffs…period…...What has McFlab done withough TO since ??

Are you serious?
First of all, we disagree about McNabb, but he is clearly the company man so he is situated a little differently than any other player in that locker room. But come on now. First of all, they DID win without TO, so McNabb was right. But putting that aside, what was he supposed to say? Our playoff hopes are over? TO was a pure diva in Philly in a way that he has not been here. He absolutely did everything in his power to turn that organization into a circus and succeeded, and it was the second team he had done that to in as many years.
I place the blame 100-0 on TO for what happened in Philly. You can take offense at a comment, but he went way, WAY beyond that (and also demanded that the team rework a ONE YEAR OLD contract).
Thankfully he is simply a different person now. But don’t kid yourself.

Disagree with that
There were 2 separate situations going on.
One was the feuding between QB and WR. The QB mishandled that badly.
The other situation was the money, and Philly refused to pay TO. Then it became a circus, and TO said and did anything he could to get out of there.
But to say that McFlabb didn’t do anything wrong is just naive.

I agree TO is different now
and he has matured immensely but no way was the situation all his fault. TO is an explosive talent and personality and McNabb couldn’t stand anyone stealing his spotlight. He didn’t have to say the season was over but he acted like TO was just another player which was classless – TO transformed that team and is it any coincidence that the team never made it to the SB before or since? No sir.
Plus, star is right, you are bringing up a lot of behaviors that occurred after the damage was done. In any case, ask any iggles fan if they wish the team had re-worked TO’s contract and I guarantee you 95% of them say HELLZ YES!!!

+1
McFlabb didn’t want to be upstaged in his locker room, or in the press, by anyone. That entire mess should be training film for QB’s of how not to handle their number one WR.

True as well that both deserved to be called out
The starting QB was not subjected to challenge by any players back then but TO called it for what it was.
At the time I was incensed along with the rest of the country because the coverage was so against TO. Having both QBs exposed in subsequent years I have had to take a step back and see a different possibility – that the cancer was not all TO but maybe more the privileged status given starting QBs at the time. The comments have changed that cancer enough so that the Packers can fire Favre and the locker room is fine with it. The BS that has gone on around the league is ending with the blogs showing us lots of things the beat writers didn’t dare expose for fear of their credentials. And players are talking to blogs and other writers and nearly everything comes to light. That is good for the NFL but hard to swallow for us traditionalists.

It's funny because when I watch Dallas games with my friend
who is a Redskins fan, he says that it feels like we’re friends with Romo because we’ve watched him “arrive” and bond with TO and JWitt, Carp and the other guys.
This team is so personable all around. The only time I ever remember caring about the media’s publicitity on my favorite team members in when I saw the Hard Copy tapes on Irvin.
Really, this is a COOL team.
That #38 sure can hit!

their loss,our gain
i had T.O.s side back then, he made them better, came 2 play in SB with an ankle with screws in it. this is America its nothing wrong with asking more $ when you do whatever to get back to help your team. (everyone wants to feel appreciated for the work they do). Mcnabbs comments did”nt help, they jus blew it!
We dont have those petty issues around here!
I get the sense that Romo & T.O have bonded like long lost Brothers.
