Football mags all have Cowboys in the SB

As Chuck Carlton has noted as DMN Blog, an article in USA Today reports that all four of the major pro football preview magazines, Lindy's, Athlon, Pro Football Weekly and the Sporting News, all predict the Cowboys appearing in the Superbowl this year, with Athlon predicting a championship.

Athlon predicts the Cowboys beating the San Diego Chargers; Lindy's predicts the Indianapolis Colts defeating the Cowboys; Pro Football Weekly predicts the Patriots downing the Cowboys, and the Sporting Newspredicts the Chargers topping the Cowboys.

All but Lindy's predict them winning the NFC East.

All sounds good. Just remember, two of them had the Cowboys in the SB last year, and none of them had the Giants.

But Carlton says "Still, the predictions bear watching, especially when a consensus emerges."

Cowboys have been a favorite

since T.O. signed with us. Don’t read too much into these preseason predictions.

as well they should be favored

the Cowboys are practically an all star team for crying out loud, if they can’t win the NFC with this team barring major injury set backs then Jerry has to clean house in a hurry.

Being a favorite

doesn’t always translate to a Super Bowl. There’s no doubt the Cowboys should be the odds on favorite, but the NFL is full of parody. Saints and Cowboys were the NFC favorites last year, and the crappy ‘ol Giants won it all.

1990 NY Giants were the weakest SB Champion of all time.

So YES…..a crappy team can win /be given (Norwood/wide right) a championship by upsetting a far superior team in the New England Patriots (you should thank Asante Samuels for dropping a sure fire/gift wrapped INT), as were the 1990 Buffalo Bills….

BUT I forgot you weren’t even born the last time the Giants won anything.

Giants fans should be sending Christmas cards to Scott Norwood and Asante Samuels for the rest of their lives.

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

i was alive the last time they won, although i'm not as old as you are grandpa.

the 1990 bills and 2007 pats both played the g-men in the regular season and won by 3 points respectively. the g-men then beat them both in the super bowl that same year. so how can that possibly make them the inferior team, nimrod? And the Pats cleary superior? The only team the Pats are clearly superior to are the cowgirls since they waxed them by like 20 points and walked through their D like Moses walked thru the red sea

Stupid.

Funny that everytime I’m in NY all I see are Jets hats and stuff. Go ahead and win your one-timers. We’re all about building dynasties!

Put me down for the Chargers, that WR/TE core is sick..

They have pass rushers, they have a dynamic corner, quality safeties, and a really good d-line..

Plus that division stinks..

AFC championship game.

He has gone farther then the popular pick Jack Del Rio and Jacksonville Jaqs..

Norv never had a team as talented as San Diego before.

they were pretty beat up

however, the Bolts were even more beat up, with Gates not at full capacity, LT out in the first half, Rivers out in the third quarter, and they still managed to pull off the win.

tough road

That Division mirrors the NFC East, they have a tough road.

I AM REALLY SERIOUS!! I had a dream that the Cowboys and the Chargers both made it to the Super Bowl. I didn’t see who won but isn’t it obvious. COWBOYS in 08

Philip Rivers is a tool.

So I hope we do play them, so I can watch him and LT bitch at each other the entire 2nd half.
