Hard Knocks open thread

 

Kevin Burnett missed the afternoon practice. 

Beat writer Calvin Watkins reports that inside linebacker and current Morning News blogger Kevin Burnett missed the afternoon practice with a sprained left knee. Owner Jerry Jones said its too early to detemine if he'll miss Saturday's game with Denver.

 To let you guys know, I’ll be joining MHR Radio tonight at 9:15 PM. MHR is the poadcast by the Mile High Report, the source for all things Broncos. Me and the Sports Guru will be discussing Cowboys/Broncos. Check it out.

Also, Hard Knocks is on tonight at 10 PM EST.

Any idea where I could catch Hard Knocks without HBO?

I’m sure I’ll be able to find it later this week, but I have nothing to do tonight, so it’d be real sweet if I could watch it live.

It looks to me like he’s playing as if he thinks he’s supposed to be there.. like it’s set in stone or something. He’s going to quickly learn (or not) that there are people with fiery determination who want his spot and are willing to work their asses of to take it. Either you have that fire or you do not. Right now he does not. I really hope it dawns on him that he’s in the NFL, the place where kids grow up dreaming of being one day. The chances of winding up there and succeeding are about as good as winning the lottery. Snap the F out of it Bennett or gtfo! I’m pulling for you but dude, seriously??

Is this Jerry's idea?

Jerry may have told HBO to focus on Bennet this week and his poor attitude. I heard that Lattimore was not thrilled at all with how they made him look bad last week. I hope that Bennet watches this episode and realizes how bad he looks.

I'm still baffled over the omission of Mike Jenkins....

it’s weird….....they keep highlighting Felix Jones as our #1 pick….do they not realize we had two 1st rounders ??....

Sneak attack. They have already guaranteed that Lattimore and Amendola will not make our practice squad.

My gut says Lattimore ends up in Houston, with his ability to hit cut back lanes.

I don’t like what I’ve seen, but it’s probably the dictionary definition of “rushing to judgment” to talk about being a bust at this point. Remember Cris Carter? Nothing but trouble until he figured it out. And Bennett isn’t refusing to practice or anything, he’s got a chip and he comes off as arrogant or having a bad attitude. We have time to watch him either figure it out or leave football. As an unheralded rookie, he’s not Lawrence Phillips. He’ll have real trouble catching on anywhere else if he screws this up. But he deserves more than a few weeks of catching glimpses of him before we toss him under the bus. Just my .02…

I agree dunk

not all 21 and 22 year old kids are mature enough in their rookie years to play professional football, sometimes it takes a few years before they grow up. I think the Cowboys will be patient with this kid, they knew what they were getting when they drafted him.

yep

very rarely are going to find rookies who are going to come in and make an impact. Looks like Dallas’s 1st 2 picks will make in immediate impact, that should be good enough.

New England drafted Chad Jackson in 1st round and he has barely seen the field.. Didn’t stop them from going undeafeted in the regular season.

I am more concerned about the emergence of Sam Hurd.
