Interesting Idea on how to get R W - WR
http://thedallascowboyshow.com/wordpress/?p=561]
this from Shango's site
The Detroit Lions suddenly need help after Takeo Spikes decided to sign with the 49ers instead of them. Well, it just so happens we have Bobby Carpenter who would really fit into a 4-3 system better than 3-4 anyways and it just so happens Dallas is in desperate need of a WR….preferably one named Roy Williams.
If Dallas offered Bobby Carpenter to help vill their void and throw in a draft pick, I think the Lions’s might bite
Interesting take on the whole idea - I like it

tempting, but pass....
i know that RW>Bobby C., but trade away a first round pick that is finally coming around for a wideout that could concievably walk after this season? We are a concussion away from Captin caveman getting serious playing time. It would have to be a pick no higher than a 4th thrown in to make this happen. if tha kitties start barking about a 2nd rounder, i tell them to have fun resigning Roy in offseason.
Actually it does
Carp was a 1st round pick

Kevin Burnette injured his knee this morning
Which means a bigger role for Bobby C. right away. Not happening
Don't think so maybe more Pratice time
Burnett
Rogers
Walden
G Terriaus
D Robertson
M Smith
who all are probably better the BC
A Mouthful: “Walden showed up defensively,” Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said of the rookie’s play in the first preseason game. “I thought at outside linebacker he showed some things even better than he did in practice. So that was a good sign
SO your worried BC is going to crack the starting line up
Ellis – Spencer
James
Thomas
Ware
don’t think so
As of right now YES
because with Burnett injured. BC is one injury away from being the starter. With a starting 35 yr. old ILB anything is possible, especially with his injury history.
Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!
Maybe we can trade them for Bennett and a draft pick
or we can just wait till his contract is up after this season.
wait
Are you saying Roy Williams for Bobby Carp straight up?
"If you see me up in the mountains with a lion, I ain't lyin
don't help me, help the mountain lion"
Please stop it already
For the 100th time. CARPENTER is NOT going ANYWHERE!. He’s not going to be traded, especially not now that Burnett is showing his usual signs of being injury prone.
We are NOT desperate for a WR. Anyone that has followed the training camp reports knows this to be true.
Roy Williams is not going anywhere. If he is going to be moved it will be during the off season. It’s too late in the game for the Lions to be moving thier top WR in a trade and it’s going to take alot more than Carpenter to get him.
Look up... get up...Don't ever, ever give up!!

You guys realize what we're talking about here, right?
Trading a player who the author of the post thinks isn’t as good as our 3rd string linebackers who aren’t even going to make the 53-man roster, plus a thrown-in draft pick, for WR Roy Williams. And that the Lions will bite.
Please, just think about that for a moment.
Can only wish the Lions' were that low on Williams.
That #38 sure can hit!

BUT REMEMBER
Hey, Its Millen. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE
Fantasy land!!!!!!
Did you actually take some time to think before you started this thread. I dont think you did, If you actually think Detroit is going to trade their number one young established lead receiever for a backup linebacker at this point in Carpenter and a draft pick, you’re dreaming.
First off, if detroit was willing to trade Williams, you’d need two first rounfd picks to start off with, since they’ll end up being late round picks, plus probably a third rounder and Carpenter to pry Williams out of Detroit, and that’s IF detroit was willing to move him. You’re not getting Willliams for a pick and Carpenter…

WR
Teams aren’t looking to trade away proven, young, and talented WR’s. To tough to find one to give it away for a guy who can’t find the field on another team..
"If you see me up in the mountains with a lion, I ain't lyin
don't help me, help the mountain lion"
It still amazes me that fans still think we need another receiver
when Crayton , Hurd, Austin and Stanback have all looked great this preseason.
There is only one scenario where Jerry trades for a stud WR and thats if T.O. went down with a very serious injury that kept him out for a good portion of the season or entire season and thats it.
In Romo we Trust
We have 3 years to find TO's replacement
That is all we need, we have complementary pieces in Witten, Crayton, Austin, Hurd, and Stanback..
We have time!! We will continue to look, but not over-pay..
