My report from Invesco field last night...
I had great seats in the Club Level of Invesco last night for the Broncos / Cowboys game. Romo didn't have a great night at all, and it looked like the play calling was too conservative. The only deep route I saw run was that bomb to Sam Hurd that Romo overthrew. I was sad again to also see Felix Jones not get time with the 1st team, because when he finally did get onto the field he showed flashes of genius yet again -- But I'm sure he would tear it up with our 1st teamers. I wouldn't be shocked if this guy challenges Marion for the #1 position by end of the season. Danny Amendola got his first catch, which was great to see -- but the routes they were sending him on were these short 5 yd routes mostly and really dissapointing. With a guy like that who has amazing speed and route running ability, I would like to see him get sent on more post or go routes in the future -- where he can really show us what he can do. The defense was not good yet again, which has me wondering what exactly we gained by picking up so many CB's in the off season. Are these guys ever going to step up and play to their full ability? Rich Bartel proved to suck as hard as we all thought when he threw that pick in the final minutes. Some guys here are saying his receiver was at fault, but I am pretty sure he threw the ball directly to the defender.
That's all for now....

p.s.
Pacman improved greatly since last week. The way he was moving to the ball and making the right cuts out there reminded me a lot of Newman! His speed also was excellent.

just a note....
Felix Jones will do fine, no need to showcase him in the pre season and risk injury……your going to see an entirely different look come regular season with both Jones and MBIII in the backfield….
Your boy Danny “Rudy” Amendola just isn’t gonna make the squad, so no need to get worked up over his lack of action…….btw…This amazing speed you mention isn’t quite as fast you may think….i believe in the 4.7 40 range…he has quickness and runs crisp routes supposedly, but he’s no speed burner….
Bartel did alright considering the circumstances……and it surely was the WR’s fault on the INT……but that really doesn’t matter now anyways……….As I don’t see Bartel making our 53 man roster….
Our defense was playing base most of the game, missing quite a few primary contributers…I realize there was some mix ups in the secondary, (Alan Ball), but they really didn’t get beat up…run defense gave up 3.1 yards per carry with a long of 9…..so it wasn’t as bad as it seemed…….the penalties were the main concern for me….they must do something about this…..
A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.
"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."
