Giants' Umenyiora out for season

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- With the retirement of seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan, the job of repeating as Super Bowl champions was going to be difficult for the New York Giants.

Now it might be near impossible with the news that fellow Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora is out for the season with a knee injury.

As bad as our injury bug has been lately...we haven't (you know the rest, I refuse to actually type it).

Do you think

that the Giants losing their best player isn’t very significant for the Cowboys? While it’s debatable how much other teams’ activities concern the Cowboys, I think major happenings to our division rivals are pretty important and worth discussing. There is virtually no discussion in the fanshots, and this is something people want to talk about.

That said, I don’t have a problem with you suggesting fanshots, I just think it’s a lost cause due to the way SB Nation has buried them from view.

yeah its pretty much a running joke with my friends

BUT something like this could easily be brought up in the comments and then discussed from there. yeah its a big deal to cowboy fans but then again you can play six degrees to kevin bacon Dallas Cowboys and anything is related. I HATE when a fanshot is posted as a fanpost and knocked off a valued fanpost. This could be a fanpost if he put some thought into and wrote up something. But all he did was quote something and thats it. It makes the site look junky and cluttered. Original thought and idea get pushed down. yadda yadda i think you get my point

I hear you

It seems to me that old fanposts tend to be inactive so it doesn’t bother me as much (and the long-running ones get rec’d up). You can also customize your settings to show more fanposts if you so desire. I hear you on the six degrees thing but really this post is one degree away. I agree that the post itself should have more content, but the comments are where the real discussions happen (case in point).

Anyway, please don’t take my differing opinion personally. I use the fanshots and try not to make fanposts people won’t be interested in. I just think it’s a losing battle. If, say, McNabb goes out for the season, there is going to be a fanpost on it no matter how many times people say to make it a fanshot. Just my two cents.

LOL - "Dood" it's still pre-season...

and we’re on the same team, no full contact allowed…save the hittin’ for the haters that will post here during the season…but glad to see you’re on watch though
