According to the DMN Blog

Wade is considering it now due to having both stanback and Austin Miles out.

I'd put Pac back there

Let him take both punts and KO’s until he takes over #2 CB spot.

Scandrick and Pacrat

until Austin and Stanback return.

The Cat is too valuable to the offense to be returning kicks.

Put the best guy back there

I don’t care who it is or what position they play. I still think it’s ridiculous not to give Felix a shot, or at least try him back there. He was great in college at returning kicks and if he can do it in the pros the let him do it in the freaking pros….

Injuries occur, and more times than not they occur MORE when you worry about them. Notice how after all this talk about injury Stanback gets injured? That’s no coincidence. Play football and stop being so concerned with injuries.

yeah, why don't we put T.O. and MB3 back there too

I’m sure they would be outstanding at returning kicks as well.

Sarcasm?

While you’re being a schmuck I’m actually quite serious. No, I wouldn’t put TO or MB3 back there but then again, they are 2 of our most important players that make this offense go. There’s a handful of guys I wouldn’t put back there for obvious reasons. To clarify, no I’m not putting Romo back there either since you’re having comprehension troubles.

Felix can become a big part of this offense but losing him to injury wouldn’t make this offense halt. Romo, TO, Witten, and MB3 would absolutely make us lose a great deal of momentum, not so with Felix. If we can be as good offensively as we were last year with Julius Jones (a 3.6 YPC back) then any one of our rookies or practice squad guys can easily handle that role.

Same goes for PacMan. If he goes down returning a kick then the defense isn’t going to suck. We’d certainly miss him but we’ve got a couple other good corners too.

We’re not thin at RB and we’re certainly not thin at corner so to me the bottom line is this, do everything you can to make this team better and sitting your best option because you’re worried is flat out stupid. Beyond stupid really.

Losing the Cat would be a much bigger loss

than you think as he will provide this offense with a dimension it did not have last season. To foolishly expose him to injury returning kicks is flat out stupid, just like it would be to have T.O. or MB3 doing it.

We have enough guys to get the ball out to the 25-30 yd line on a consistent basis, we don’t need KO returns for TDs like the Bears to score points.

i agree sub........

You don’t let two of the best kick returner in the world sit on the sidelines and watch somebody else do it………..

If we put Felix and Adam out on every kickoff this season, I’d bet anyone we’d have at least 4 KO return TD’s by seasons end….

A true diehard Cowboys fan since 1975.

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

I think I read

that wade said he’d rather not use felix on kickoffs…but with austin and stanbach out he now doesn’t have that luxury. Meaning that he’ll be forced to use Felix on kickoffs for now.
