ESPN: Adam Jones reinstated
According to ESPN's Ed Werder Roger Goodell has reinstated Adam Jones for the season opener versus the Cleveland Browns.
More to come.
UPDATE: The DMN blog has a quote from AJ on his reinstatement.
Here's what Jones had to say about getting reinstated: "It feels good man, you know, to get a second chance and I just have to take advantage of it. First and foremost, I don't want to let myself down, definitely my little girl down. I'm thankful for Jerry, the fans in Dallas and my teammates for believing in me. I need to keep doing what I've been doing to get reinstated staying with myself and my teammates and staying away form those knuckleheads and just stay focused."
Did you think this day would come? "I never thought it would take this long but I'm just glad I'm getting another chance."

there's your punt and K.O. returner
lets keep the Cat safe and sound behind our massive OL, not taking shots hard shots on returns.

+1.....For sure on punt returns....I'm thinking Jenkins and Scandrick on KO returns...
A Jones being our 3rd CB is as important as F Jones being our 2nd RB……I hope Jenkins and Scandrick show something on returns tonight against Minny…….
.I still think we should have F Jones and A Jones as our primary KO returners….but it’s not my team :-)

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

isnt too surprising..
its definitely nice to hear that its official though.
i have a question.. anybody see AJ making an impact at all on offense this year?
Glenallen Hill hit that ball 600 feet.

no, too many other weapons

i disagree
If there were TOO many weapons, there wouldnt be so much discussion about the wide receiver position. im aware of how talented this offense is, but it has to be at least a little tempting to see if Pacman can add a little something every now and then. We know he has the speed.

thats not true
there’s so much discussion about the WR position because sports writers can’t find any weaknesses in our team so they have to make up something.
No team in the league has as many weapons as the Cowboys. T.O., MB3, Witten, the Cat, Crayton, Hurd, thats plenty of ballers that can get the job done. Not enough balls for Pacrat.

I guess we'll see.
Im confident that w/o anything from Pacman this offense is going to be very good. I think it would be pretty interesting to see though, and it is something that the coaches have mentioned before.

I think he can be used occasionally
like Deion was used once in a great while, but I think it would be like 2 or 3 plays a year.

Right.
Hopefully those 2 or 3 plays would all go for touchdowns.

I honestly think we'll get the most production
from him as a return specialist, just my opinion.

As a Decoy maybe
like Deion was back in the 90s, but if like Deion he’s the starting CB then I’d rather he stay on defense. Nothing worse than to see Deion on the sideline catching his breath while opposing QBs teed off on Brice.

ESPN is also saying...
that he is going to start Week 1, is that true? Can he take Henry’s spot that quickly?

don't believe ESPN
Newman and Henry are going to be the opening day starters.

Henry and Newman will start
but Pacman will see plenty of action.

I think so.
He’s been shaking off the rust and improving by leaps and bounds. I think once he starts 2 or 3 games for us, he will be our 2nd best CB. I’m afraid about him gambling for picks, but he is going to take some to the house this year.

Yeah, hes a risk taker.
That seems to be evident early on. It may be something that comes up during the season. Im excited to see how he does returning punts. Id bet he takes back more than 1 this year.

I think you have to take the under...
…but I think he’ll push on 3 combined INT and return TDs.
I was reading TMQ the other day (because I love to torture myself) and he mentioned that Pacman has significant incentive clauses in his contract based on INTs. TMQ thought this means he will selfishly gamble and give up big plays when he whiffs. I think he’s going to gamble a lot, but that’s what the Boys want him to do. If he catches a pick going toward the endzone, he’s gone.

He'll start

Excellent advice
and thankfully there are guys that are keeping him on the straight path. Hope that continues.

Is it just me or does anyone else
find it absolutely hysterical that Pacman was informed of his reinstatement while having lunch at Hooters?
Nobody see any irony in that?
