Our 3rd or 4th WR on Sunday
I wonder if Adam Jones will get his wish and play a little WR on Sunday? I didn't read a lot about him doing it in training camp, so I'm not sure if he's been practicing, but maybe for 3-4 plays he could fill in, even if it's just as a decoy. Given that Jerry Jones has gone on record and stated that there would be no WR's added to the roster who had no experience with the system I don't see them addidng anyone off of the waiver wire.

I see a couple of scenarios happening against the Browns regarding the offense
1. Some veteran WR is going to get signed.
2. If we have only 2 receivers active for the game, I see Witten in the slot a lot, maybe Martellus Bennett and Felix at WR at little bit. We can do some interesting things with the formations.
3. Maybe Adam Jones and T-New could play 3rd or 4th receiver a little bit.
The most likely is obviously #2. We can make some huge mismatches here. #3 is probably just not going to happen but you never know.

AJ on 3rd downs
I think they may trot Adam out on some 3rd downs, but more as a decoy than anything. The guys is electric with the ball in his hands so you gotta put a corner or cover safety on him I would think.

bring 'em in......i'm all for AJ seeing action on offense...

"If you don’t take him off the field as a coach, he will just about die out there," Jerry Jones said. "That impacted my decision. It’s a Michael Irvin-type work ethic. That’s what we are talking about with Felix Jones."

second scenario most likely
1. Unless they think it is someone who can really contribute for the long term, I don’t think they sign a receiver before the Browns game whose salary would then be vested for the season, when they expect their #3 and #4 (and possibly #5) back in a few games.
2. At least for this first game, I think they just adapt with the weapons they have. Even without a legit #3 WR, they can still put 5 legit weapons on the field on any play, some combination of TO, Crayton, Witten, Barber, Jones, Bennett, Curtis, Anderson, including Witten, Jones and Anderson lining up in the slot. It takes a few plays out of their playbook, but they are versatile enough to adapt around it and still have plenty of options.
3. considering that AJ hasn’t been taking any reps at receiver preseason or even sitting in on offensive meetings, in terms of timing with Romo he’s really no better than any other player coming off the wire. T-New has been out the whole camp and preseason, so although he is now catching balls in the receiver line like is his usual routine, that is more about working on his picks and he probably doesn’t have much more chemistry and timing with Romo than AJ does. So I don’t think this is likely the first game.
They could also put Jefferson or Amendola on the field as the #3 WR. Even if Romo isn’t too likely to throw the ball their way, they could get in there and run the routes. We’ll see shortly if one or both of these guys makes the team. One of them could be the solution for the first week, and then they might bring in a veteran receiver for just a few games and slide one of these guys back to the PS.

Looks like Stanback is gonna give it a go.
That seems like the best option right now.

yeah, me too
I still don’t think he’s ready to actually play that #3 spot, but if he can be a placeholder of sorts until Miles and Sam return, it could be a good opportunity for him to get some actual game snaps that will help his development. And who knows, even though he’s still raw in the receiver position, he can be dangerous with the ball in his hands and can be a playmaker, even if they just use him on end-arounds or the like.

About shoulders...
If it is bad enough to put a harness on him, it’s pretty bad. If he has torn his labrum it could lead to a rotator cuff injury, or worse. I’m not sure it’s worth wrecking his shoulder to try and get him on the field. The odds of a worse injury are high.
